Yeah man-- especially when you have that stud Luke...what's his name again? ;) :P

we have Luke, Devean, Lamar, Jumaine Jones and Caron Butler. Jesus we're on the verge of becoming the Knicks if we sign another SF.

Well the Miami/Detroit season series is split at 1-1 right now, both at Detroit. They play in Miami next month, which should be a good way to determine who would win a playoff series. Though expect the Pistons to dial it up a couple notches in the playoffs.

We ain't afraid of no Shaq.
Honestly I think a Miami/Stones game doesn't go past 6 games at the most. They've got Shaq who's gonna get his. What about Wade? Well what about Prince. They're either gonna wear each other out or Wade guards Rip and Tayshaun goes nuts. Boston is gonna be a harder time the Pistons than the Heat.

This is the list of teams I would call the Pistons a solid lock to beat in the PO

1. All teams not named the San Antonio Spurs.

This is what I get for procrastinating my studying for my microbiology exam tomorrow. Now I won't even be able to watch this game except for quick glances at the muted TV. <cries>

:(

Anyway, Kobe should have a big game, but if they can't contain Wade, LA has no shot. They have to hold Wade under 21 points imo, because Sha's poduction against LA's front line is a given. Who's SF for Miami? Because I figure Eddie Jones will be guarding Kobe, so who's gonna guard Odom?

Why doesn't Odom play with this energy every night?

And if Kobe takes another three he should be benched for Brown. Someone needs to explain to Kobe that your FG% increases the closer you get to the basket.

While you are at it, you Laker fans might want to tell Chucky that the NBA allows shots inside that arc :lol

Almost forgot about this game... nice rejection by O'neal.

Why the hell did the Lakers let Dooling drill that three at the end of the quarter? :lol

HOLY CRAP! Did you just see that move Wade made and then missed the scooping layup? My God that was a sick move...

Yeah that was pretty sweet... I haven't watched many games this season but man.. Wade has become so friggin aggressive as this season has gone on... confident and aggressive... and accurate.

Wade with the crossover.... kick it outside... 3 pointer... boom.... and once again they've extended the lead with Shaq out of the game... the Heat are just killer. When he's on the bench they still play with confidence like we know we got Shaq on the bench if we get in trouble... but let's do this.

Why take Kobe out? >_<

Not sure, that was only his 1st foul....

The Rock!!!!

:lol Kobe had a nice dunk and the cameras weren't even on him.

EDIT: Time to bring Shaq back in.

Does anybody know who are the girls sitting courtside right on the floor next to the Miami bench? They're kinda to the front and right of the scorer's table. From far away, they look really hot :)

Who was the last big center who had trouble with FT's? Kobe just hit a brick wall!

Idiot Heat players. Up 16 w/1:40 to go and instead of running clock and getting a good shot, they jack up a 3 with 22 seconds left on the shot clock and then rush some passes and turn it over. Ridiculous.

Btw, if I ever hear a Laker fan bitch about Atkins again, I'm gonna laugh. Dude has kept you guys in many games this year when Kobe's been off. He's singlehandedly kept LA in this game in the second half.

Nobody complains about his offense. How many did Jones and Dooling score tonight when he was guarding them? That's right...

PS: If the Lakers brought this type of effort against bottom tier teams, maybe they wouldn't have so many bad losses...Oh, and Chris Mihm is a damn joke....

:lol :lol

Shaq is hilarious. When asked about Kobe scoring 21 points in the first half and going 0-11 (or whatever) in the second half, he says:

"We just wanted to smother him...(blah, blah, blah)... It's not about scoring points, it's about playing team basketball. And that's what we do here."

Cos they were supposed to be destroyed by the almighty heat both games. They lost the first by 2 and were in this game till the end on game 5 of a 6-game roadie. I don't get pissed at losses cos the team is so unbalanced but I need to see effort every night....

It's obvious that he'll never be a Rockets fan... get him to work on the Magic or the Pacers. And for the greater good of basketball, please don't get him to become a Lebron fan.

Dwyane Wade -- pumped up by a comment Bryant made as the first half expired -- scored eight of his 27 points in the fourth quarter

Bryant, according to Wade, told Miami's second-year guard ``Stop crying'' as the teams were preparing to leave the court following a first half in which Wade was often agitated over non-calls. ``I don't want to say what I said,'' Wade said. ``I told him that I wasn't talking to him, for one. And for two, I pretty much told him a lot of stuff. I don't want to get into it.''

His play did the talking. Wade added eight rebounds and five assists, then he pumped his fist in exultation as the final seconds wore down.

Kobe's just padding his stats. Either he carry's the team to the playoffs or to the lottery. It's a win, win situation for him.

Ok after the re-org happened in the NBA how does the playoffs work? Are the three division champs seated 1-2-3?

Blackace:

Pretty much, yes.

3 Division leaders = 1-2-3.

If a 3 seed has a worse record than a 6th seed (which was looking likely in the east early in the season), the the team with the best record has home court.

"Konex2k4: warriors cannot finish"

WOO YES!!!

:lol

ROCKETS in FIFTH PLACE! WATCH OUT DALLAS!

1-2-3 doesn't equal home court? does not compute! So if the number 4 seed has a better record than the number 3 seed and gets home court, aren't they just the number 3 seed instead of the number 4 seed?

It sets up the matchups. Basically all it does is guarantee at least 1 team from each division makes it.

Like the Rockets, they'll have the 3rd best record at the end of the year, but will be 4th seed. :p

So if somehow the fantasy world that you live in comes true, if they had the best record they 'd get home court of the 3rd seed... that's an odd system... the old system was the division leaders at 1 and 2 regardless of record.. so I remember when the pacific had two teams with better records than the midwest division winner and the second place team had to be the 3rd seed and if they played they would be 3rd seed...

Wait, wait-- Kobe told someone ELSE to "stop crying"? He of the "Kobe Yelp" every time a player breathes on him? He of the "I've made more FT's than FG's"? He of the "I bitch after every call I don't get, even when I don't deserve it"?

Wow, that's balls. :lol I hope Wade goes off for like 40 next time they meet, which will be next year. Wade's better than me-- I would just been like "so you're not only overrated, but whiny too?" :P I would've added a "HEEEEEY" for good measure. :D

Btw, both Kobe and Shaq made an effort to give a pound to each other at the beginning of the game, but Kobe's came early and Shaq didn't see it; by the time Shaq turned, saw Kobe and extended his hand, Kobe had walked by, figuring that Shaq had snubbed him again. I was a bit miffed about that-- would've been cool to see some sort of reconciliation. :)
