If he can hold up for a game or two during the season that is good enough.
He will have some pretty good help in the secondary this year if necessary.
I remember we had osme ancient Ravens CB that helped us beat the Patirots in 09. I think it was Chris Mcallister.

No, no, no. He's not a #2 corner. He's not even a nickel corner that I would trust in a must stop situation. He's a special teams player who you plug in somewhere when needed and pray to Jeebus that they don't throw at him. Like I said, he's shit. And the Saints have better options as kick returners, as that was the only thing Fabian could do decently in this league.

You know I think there might be one way Braylon Edwards signs with the Pats. If there isn't a market for him maybe he signs a short term deal with the Pats. Maybe a one year deal so that he can boost his numbers playing with Brady, and learning the bullshit "patriot way". This is more in the fantasy realm, but it would be interesting if he were a Patriot.

I think a lot of teams including the Jets not only passed on him because of the money he was looking for but also because he will likely face a 2-4 game suspension due to the DUI.

It'd be nice, but not sure how I'd feel, would there be enough room in this system for him? I was thinking he would be a good fit before Chad got here, but I guess you can never have too much.

I forgot about the DUI situation. It's clear that he isn't getting number one WR money. Dream scenario is the Jets lose Cromartie, and the Pats sign Edwards.

Plenty of cap space, but the Pats would only go after Edwards if he was cheap anyways. Probably isn't the best fit, but it would be entertaining.

Im sure he would be a part of the rotation. Saints actually have some pretty decent corners.
They had pretty good Pass defense even with a mediocre pass rush and poor linebacker play in 09-10. Not too concerned since this guy was cheap. We also have Leigh Torrence re-signed since he has done a decent job actually. These are obviously nowhere near shutdown corners or even really talented corners, but they fill a role in the system and GW can use them. I think thats all they really plan to do with this guy or they would have gone after a more consistent one. They also have 1st rounder Pat Robinson and 3rd rounder Johnny Patrick to plug in there.

I'd rather have Moss crawl back on his hands and knees and then pay him nothing at least he would know the system with no learning curve.

Probably next year Moss will do exactly that.
Or Adrian Arrington might be cut since he cant stay healthy long enough to actually play an NFL game. He can catch though. Really well.

I would like that, but again still not sure how he would fit. I love Moss, but I was actually more excited about Chad just because it seems his style of play would fit the system better. I think if Randy would be willing to take the role it appeared he would play last year it would be an unstoppable team, but I don't think he likes that style of play.

With fantasy football leagues being formed right now, anyone have any good names I can steal? Last year I was Witten's Mittens(had wit on my team) with a picture of Charlie from Always Sunny and his kitten mittens.

It's official: Seahawks and LB Lofa Tatupu decided to mutually part ways. He will be released and will be looking for work elsewhere.

Now it's official. Wouldn't mind him on the Pats for cheap. He has had surgery on both his knees right? Also any updates on Manny Lawson?

Edit:I'm glad Kevin Faulk is back with the Pats. Basically Belichick called him before the lock out and told him he wanted him back so Faulk is back.I hope he retires as a Patriot. The man has been so damn clutch.

NESN article said:
"[Belichick] told me, 'Hey, look, Kevin, I want you on my team in 2011,'" Faulk said. "That was motivation enough for me to go out and rehab my butt off and get ready for the season, whatever it may be and whenever it may come. That was pretty much enough for me.

Faulk is such a key player.

From Rotoworld:

Calvin Johnson - WR - Lions

According to NFL Network's Lindsay Soto, Calvin Johnson has added five pounds of muscle to his shoulder and legs "in order to generate more power and explosion."

I have seen him person. I dont think there is an ounce of fat on his body. Such a beast.

This guy is why the Lions didn't throw around huge money this offseason. He's in a contract year--they're going to need some major cash to re-sign this guy.

If Mayhew lets him go it will completely invalidate every move he's made so far.

Jones is back with the Pack.

Silverstein: #Packers WR James Jones has agreed to terms on a three-year deal with the Green Bay Packers, source just said.

So does this mean Edwards is last man standing?? Is there anyone else left? Is Floyd still not wrapped up yet?

I don't care either way. Tate played like an absolute scrub so Chad is an obvious upgrade. Fat Albert will always worry me though.

Fabian Washington is not even a good return guy. Carr is the decent return guy. Both are trash corners, though. I don't know why the Ravens keep shitty corners around so long. Their defense would be so unstoppable if they actually had guys outside that could keep up with WRs. Same thing for the Steelers. :|

Giants Steve Smith(even though he might go on PUP and be unable to play Week 1)

I would love to see him on the Panthers just for the lulz.

Yeah he was awful, but he was a rookie and really that wasn't the style of play they were going to often anyways. That's why like I said, if Randy could just go out there take a double team, stretch the defense, it would be unstoppable.

Fat Albert will be cut if he is a bad fit. What worries me is that they are thin on talent.

Tate is just Bethel Johnson 2.0

Offense is fine. They need linebackers and D-Line depth. Matt Light re upped which is supposed to happen and work something out with Mankins.

Right now I would be calling the Giants to see if I could get Osi. He would be awesome as for the Pats. He would be the play making DE that the Pats are missing.

But are the Pats will to pay the $$ that he wants to be happy?

I just don't see the Pats spending big on any 1 player not named Brady.

speaking od Dline, Shaun Rogers is pretty much beasting all over the Oline in practices. I can see why the Browns kicked Saints ass in that horrible game in 2010. Rogers was just manhandling everybody. And the Saints Oline isn't a bunch of scrubs either. Pretty impressive. Then again, he makes our second biggest lineman look like a little child. I see why they called him Big Baby.

I think he has more potential. I don't think he'll ever be great, but he showed some decent signs, he's just a solid option to have opposite Chad, or at least better than nothing. Obviously Chad is an upgrade, but i don't really see it like that, I see it as them running the same system, but actually adding a missing piece, so I still think Tate will play a role out there.

edit- Also maybe this is the year Edelman finally plays a role! Probably not...

Anyways I'm not worried about the offense, I'm just saying if we were to get smoebody else it would be ridiculous. That being said I think the pats should definitely be in the market for at least a DE. That would just about complete them as far as I'm concerned. Leigh Bodden coming back helps a lot, and if Haynesworth is motivated the defense could see a very significant boost.

If the Pats are picking up another WR, hopefully they aren't cutting Price. I have a good feeling about him, he looked great in the few plays he got in last season. I don't like Tate, he doesn't fit into the system.

Come on jerry get this one done!
Everybody keeps asking who the Cowboys will get to play safety. While they need two of them, the identity of one of the ones they've been trying to get revealed himself Saturday night on Twitter when free-agent safety Abram Elam (@abeelam) tweeted the following:

Just hung up with Rob Ryan he spoke about how good @terencenewman1 and the defense is and can be.. I told him well #CTMFC#

Ryan is, of course, the Cowboys' defensive coordinator. He was also the Browns' defensive coordinator the past two years, while Elam was playing in Cleveland. @terencenewman1 is Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman, with whose feelings the Cowboys are being very careful right now since everybody knows he's the guy they would have cut if they'd signed Nnamdi Asomugha on Friday. And "CTMFC" stands for "cut the check" with some other letters thrown in the middle with the intention of making the request seem more forceful.

They will never pay anyone unless it's in house player. They got burned by Adalius Thomas and will never do that again.

there are guys at the dallas board i go to that want him >.<

it is to the point where i would rather have CJ Spillman, a career special teams player, play at FS over goldson. i mean it won't come to that since we have reggie smith but i cannot stress enough that goldson is raw fucking garbage. he can't cover, he's not a ballhawk and he constantly takes shitty angles. i have no idea why he is sought after by anyone. the only thing i can say for him is that he is a WILLING tackler, and has the ability to cause forced fumbles when he actually puts himself in a decent position but that could be said about every FS in the history of football.

i will consider this FA period a success if dashon goldson leaves

I think part of the reason they (players) are accepting short term deal is because the money that was suppose to be coming from the rookie cap is still tied in. The more years pass the more money will be available for the FA.

He now has a three year deal. His soft head is likely exponentially softer...depending on guaranteed dollars.

I read an article a couple weeks ago stating that the salary cap wasn't going to raise much until the TV deals are re-done in a few years.

Not a shock there. Once Detroit canceled Buffalo or Chicago were his only options.

With the moves Chicago is making, I can't imagine anybody else wanting to go there.
