I always liked Rosenfels, aside from the 'copter. He is much better than David Carr, but I guess the Giants are banking on the Manning injury-proof genes and want to save some money.

Maybe Sage will land back in Houston. He's much better than Leinart as well.

Robert Quin showed up to Rams' practice with a knee injury. They say it's not serious, but idk. Rams like flushing first round picks down the toilet. Would make sense that he'd be injured and Bowers would be fine
What team bets that their QB will get hurt during the season? I can't think of one team that will do well if their starter goes down. Aside from that, in his Giants career, Carr did really well. 30 completions, 45 attempts, 3 TDs, 340 yards.

Because he was in prison. I don't think he'll suck, but I doubt his effectiveness will extend beyond red-zone situations.

EXACTLY what the Jets need though. We were like 28th or something last year in the Redzone

I'm just excited to find out who opposing OL's are going to double-team--Suh or Fairley.

Fairley dominated in the SEC, the toughest division in college football. He just needs to keep his head in the game. If Suh gets the double teams, Fairley is going to go hog wild.

I am a BIG TEN guy. But why did he drop to 13 on draft? Do you think he is automatic starter?

Why would opposing teams double a rookie who hasn't even stepped on the field yet lol

The strength of the team is still going to be offense. We have play- makers all over the place. Including special teams. (Stafford when played was great)

Defense just has to keep us in the game.

I think the defense will be able to do much more than that with that dline. This might be Mayhew's best offseason yet. 4 new starters in the back 7 (not scrubs!), improvement with fairley on the already dominant dline, new RB to compliment best, legitimate receiver to replace bryant johnson. They were bad at run stopping last year and the 2 new linebackers are excellent run stoppers. Very pumped about this offseason. I think we should compete with GB for division title.

They already had good receivers and a solid TE. My guess is that Sanchez isn't as good in the red area because he has to make tight throws, but that is just a guess. So why were the Jets so bad in the red area?

its mostly Schotty being conservative. The Jets for the most part got really conservative in the red zone due to knowing they had the 3 points in the back of their pocket and didn't want to take chances.

What Plax does allow though is a little more danger. If Sanchez is looking around and can't find someone open he will be able to throw it up to Plax's side of the field, high enough to not get an interception but just low enough that Plax can pull it down.

Just look at what the guy did for Eli and Big Ben. I think even if you get 75% of him back this year he is going to be a huge target for Sanchez in the Red zone.

Oh man, dont get me wrong. iam very excited.

Even with playing 2nd and 3rd string quater backs our point differential was only -7.
So many close games. Last year for entertaining regardless.

Reported on @6abc tonight at 6 - @Eagles WR DeSean Jackson is planning to end his holdout. Jackson will probably be in camp Mon or Tues.
Good news for the Eagles. Let's hope they can sign him long term to keep him happy.

I think teams plan around the possibility that their may be a need for the backup to start a game and play meaningful snaps in another.

David Carr is garbage. I don't care what his stats are.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

Because teams didn't watch the tape and judged him on his workouts. He was dominant last year. He's not a workout warrior. Teams will regret passing on him.

I'm hoping Detroit takes a flyer on Derrick Harvey. I'd love to see what he could do when he's not being double-teamed all the time.

Just let them enjoy the undefeated Super Bowl season they are having in their minds.

You....seriously believe that? You think personnel decisions that will cost tens of millions of dollars are made that blithely outside of Oakland?

Sorry--I was on the phone when I typed that.

I guess I should have said "didn't take too much stock in the tape." Of course they watched the tape. Sometimes, though, teams get turned off by guys who aren't workout warriors and get hyped up for those guys who have big workouts.

At the end of the college season, based on his play, people were talking about Fairley being drafted anywhere from #1-5.

OC calls shitty plays in the redzone. They need to set Shonn Greene free. He's a beast.

This and I am hoping he does turn out to be a beast but with limited touches it is really hard to make that call yet.

I think he just wasn't a great fit for a lot of teams at the top of the board. Once the Panthers passed on him, teams just had more pressing needs.

Wasn't he also considered a shitty interview?

But yeah, the combine definitely dinged him. I thought it was his personality/effort more than the physical stuff but I may be misremembering.

That was part of it, too.

My prediction of 8-8 or 9-7 (barring injury) is delusional? I don't see how anybody can look at the changes this team has made and think they're going 6-10 again.

Definitely the favorites the B1G.

I hate those cheating douches in the SEC but they have a monopoly on college football and probably the only conference to stop them is the Pac 12

Iowa homer here, but I do feel that if Shonn Greene is going to get his career in order he has to do it this year. Hopefully nagging injuries and poor hands don't hold him back, he's like a truck.

He showed up to interviews late if you believe the reports.

A lot of teams that could use a DT passed on him, for whatever reason. You look at the teams ahead of the Lions and 6 or 7 of them need a DT.

Fairley was a one man wrecking crew, he was the Auburn defense, but you have to wonder what he did to turn off so many teams.

It was just one big year also.

I absolutely hate that logo. I cannot believe how badly they botched the new Big Ten and their divisions.

Your compatriots ruin it for you.

And I like the B10 but they are constantly hyped and consistently underperform

My Boilers are going to do real well this season at fighting IU and NW for the 12th spot.

Honestly the only picks that surprised me after the Panthers passed was the Bills and maybe the Texans. Why did the Bills go with Dareus?

I get the Texans thinking; stretch the line out at the ends and even mediocre DT's should be able to thrive.

I'm banking on Manningham being insane this year. Nicks is the defacto #1 and teams will scheme to stop him.

Our D-line is set as far as pass rushers go, could use a young run stuffer. Wouldn't hurt to add more depth and trading a 1st isn't that big of a deal for us. We do better in the later rounds anyway. Al just might do it, you never know.
