Well I seem to be the outlier on this. I never said he wasn't a HoF guy, just questioned whether he was a "slam dunk". In fact, I'm almost certain he won't get in on the first ballot.

You killin me hahahaha.

squicken said:
I not saying he isn't. But is there any season where you would have said "Randy Moss is the best WR in the game"

Moss in his prime was one of the best receivers ever. Hell, in 2007 when he was already out of his prime he set the touchdown record.

If it wasn't for the fucking choke job in the super bowl I would be able to watch highlights from that season. Right now I hate the Giants more than any other team in the NFL. If the Jets were to face the Giants in the superbowl I would root for the Jets. I can't wait till the Pats destroy them this season. Fucking Giants ruining my dreams.

Edit:I'm watching all 23 TDs by Moss right now. So depressing :(

Randy Moss to retire....

cool

can't ruin your fantasy team now!

Yeah but TO is still lurking...972yds/72 catches/9 TDs despite a ton of drops last season with Palmer and a horrible Bengals team. Unless his knee is totally gone, he could pull down 10TD/1000yards on a team that uses him in the 1 or 2 spot. (Jags, Rams maybe?)

Yeah no one has really said where he'll go.

Looks like Cotchery was coming off of surgery.

Have no idea what surgery though or the extent of it.

Guessing this is one of the reasons the Jets are shopping him now.

God I had forgotten how sick he was that season. That back shoulder catch against Cincy was absurd.

Absolutely ridiculous. Catching between tripple teams on the dolphins TWICE.

Fantastic!

Now let's just get Smith and Boss back on board.

First game in Miami is where I went holy shit.

That catch he had against the Dolphins is Miami was impossible.

Lots of great individual moments in that season. The Baltimore game was great. They should have won it too if they didn't call a timeout.

Any reason why?

Brodrick Bunkley has yet to report to Browns training camp and "no one knows if he ever will."

Bunkley was shipped from Philly to Cleveland on Saturday, a move he couldn't have been pleased with. The Browns remain on the hook for the 2012 fifth-rounder they sent to the Eagles even if Bunkley doesn't show because NFL trades are made "at your own risk." The Browns clearly didn't do enough digging into the player.

Well here is the reasoning:

NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports that he’s heard the Jets are making Cotchery available for the right price.

Translation: The Jets want people to know Cotchery is now up for bidding.

We initially didn’t understand this one. Cotchery is one of the glue guys on this Jets team, always willing to accept any role. But the Jets just don’t trust him to stay healthy.

Cotchery was hurt when completing the most badass play of the year in 2010. He also underwent back surgery after the season. That will hurt his trade value.

Man I remember the split catch he made. Was insane. Guess his back may really well be fucked up.

Really sucks b/c cotchery was so clutch almost caught everything thrown in his vicinity. And a real class act!

The Giants had to ruin everything that year. But its ok since they have been cursed since they won.

Watching that Giants vs Eagles games last year was enjoyable, but fuck the Giants. Hate that stupid ass team so much. Hope Eli throws 40 interceptions this year

The penalties too... False start on one of those 4th downs, which ended up saving us. Also remember somebody picking the flag up and chucking it after the touchdown. In the post game Tom said he had heard the whistles and if the timeout hadn't been called he would've got the first down though.

edit- also the long bomb at the end of the game was WAYYY too close.

moss is a lock, guaranteed first ballot HoF'er

This.

He's 5th in all time receiving yards, 5th in all time TDs and tied for 8th in receptions. Do you want to know why this league is so pass happy? Randy Moss is one of the guys who made it that way. He really made the vertical passing game much more exciting.

Pats are going to be at the top again this season I can feel it. 19-0 season is coming
Losing week 1 against the fins. Every year they manage to somehow fill me up with hope. I don't feel that now, so they will give it to me week 1.

I hope Henne is the started. Guaranteed 2 wins.

Randy Moss not a first ballot guy? LOL. Dude was the best WR in the game for most of his career in Minney.
I can't see how this is even a question.

This is a man that since 1998 has failed to put up 1000 yards in a season only 3 times. He was hurt one of them, had no QB or desire to play in his second year in Oakland, and saw little in the way of looks in 2010. The dude is not a workout warrior, it was all god given talent and ability. His level of productivity for that many years is insanity.

I really hope he somehow changes his mind. He definitely has enough left in the tank to get back out there for a contender and really contribute.

There's a HUGE logjam of WR for the HoF. Lots of big stats guys can't get in. Will they put Cris Carter/Tim Brown in before Moss is eligible? Will he jump those guys if they aren't in? The HoF has no idea what to do with the WRs and the numbers they put up over the last 15 yrs.

It's not the slam dunk you guys think it is.

You're out of your mind. He set records, he's in the top 10 in virtually ever major WR category, he was on the top 2 offensive teams of all time. He's an unbelievable talent, who if had kept his head on straight would've broke (or been in 2nd) every record. Take out the years in oakland, and have him stay consistent with the pats and he could've taken a run at Jerry's record, which he did over a much longer career and with much better QBs (Except tom of course).

it doesn't matter if cris carter and/tim brown aren't in before moss is eligible, he'll jump them. i'm not even a randy moss fan, but you can't deny he's a sure fire first ballot hall of famer.

Plinko

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
I cannot believe someone is arguing against Moss being a 1st-ballot Hall of Famer. Never thought I'd see the day.

I've never said he isn't a HoFer. I didn't say he wasn't better than Cris Carter or Tim Brown. I just dispute the notion he's a sure-thing first ballot guy, which is how I interpret "slam dunk". I'll drop it, though.

Yes it is. Moss and TO are the two best WRs from this era. They'll leap everyone when they're eligible.

TO is definitely one of the best, but him and Moss are on 2 different levels.

The two most productive offenses in NFL history have one person in common and it's Randy Moss. Not saying he is the sole reason, but he is a big part of it.

Look Tom's great and everything, but he wouldn't have sniffed the record if it weren't for Randy. I was one of the people that year campaigning for Moss as MVP.
