Comedy. Don't make excuses for Flacco. He is garbage. Many QBs would love a lineup like that one.DeaconKnowledge said:In Flacco's defense his weapons were basically:
Rice - Checkdown
Boldin, Houshmandzadeh, Mason - posession receivers
Heap - Stretch the field (?!)
The divisional game against the Steelers would have been won with the mistakes we made against ANY other offense.
Whoa. I'm not saying they're bad receivers (well, except for Housh, hate that motherfucker) but they all play the same role in the offense and they seem to be the third option behind Rice and Heap.Wellington said:Comedy. I love Ronnie too, just won't be heartbroken to see him go/ become the second string. He's lost some burst and is made of glass. He doesn't get enough praise for how smart he is though, the real reason the wildcat worked.Wrayfield said:I know he is sort of lethargic and injury-prone, but I kinda liked him.
Giants agreed to terms with WR Michael Clayton.

I'm not defending Flacco as much as i'm attacking Cam Cameron

So you are saying that Deion Branch is an elite wide receiver?TheDrizzlerJ11 said:Deion Branch is one of 6 WRs to be a SB MVP.
Clayton didn't come in until near the end of the season when all of our wideouts went down and had to learn the offense on the fly. What's Calhoun's excuse?Striker said:Clayton was as helpful as Duke Calhoun.

The only Pro Bowl receivers Brady has played with was Terry Glenn, Randy Moss, and Wes Welker. Branch is a good receiver, but far from one of the best.
He's lighting it up at camp from the reports that I've read. A couple 60+ yard bombs caught from Sage and our third QB we drafted. Gilbride singled him and Cruz out as standouts at the moment working with the 2nd team offense and said they are fighting for that #3 receiver spot. Both are viable candidates considering where we are in signing Steve Smith and the fact that he's likely to be out 4-6 weeks after the season starts.Wellington said:What's the word on Devin Thomas?

Ex-Cardinals NT Gabe Watson is trying out for the Giants today.
Maclin is in camp today, but there is no practice due to CBA designating today as a day off. The media is unsure when he'll participate in practices. Only person left who isn't here is Desean Jackson.Jeremy Maclin said:Lehigh...glad to be back!

Is he a Top 10 QB? Probably not, but give the guy a competent coach who actually understands the position and an offensive scheme that isn't constantly changing and doesn't make HORRIFIC use of the running game, and I'll be willing to bet he'll surprise a lot of people this year.
As a long, LONG time Niners' fan, I'm super happy he's getting another shot.
Here's a prediction: Smith outplays Kolb in 2011.

Really? I think you're nuts if you don't think the offensive strategy is going to night and day from what it's been the last few years, and that's absolutely going to help Smith.DeaconKnowledge said:
If Sweed could catch the ball he could make the pro bowl.DeaconKnowledge said:So yeah, I think Sweed might make the team.
Let's look:
Wallace - Lock
Ward - PUP
Sanders - Out 3 weeks at least w/injury
Brown - Making tons of mental errors (wrong route running)
ARE got cut, Battle is a career Special Teamer. Grisham might step it up, but I haven't heard much from him, or the Two UDFA rookies we signed (McRae and Greenwood. That leaves Sweed.
Who is injured w/ a pulled hamstring and out until today.
<---Awesome.

Why do you think Gore's holdout ended so quickly? It was never really about the money.
