In Flacco's defense his weapons were basically:

Rice - Checkdown

Boldin, Houshmandzadeh, Mason - posession receivers

Heap - Stretch the field (?!)

The divisional game against the Steelers would have been won with the mistakes we made against ANY other offense.

Comedy. Don't make excuses for Flacco. He is garbage. Many QBs would love a lineup like that one.

Whoa. I'm not saying they're bad receivers (well, except for Housh, hate that motherfucker) but they all play the same role in the offense and they seem to be the third option behind Rice and Heap.

Bet your account, I'm down with that.

Try again, this sounds like a lose-lose. There are no other good Bills posters I can think of.

I know he is sort of lethargic and injury-prone, but I kinda liked him.
I love Ronnie too, just won't be heartbroken to see him go/ become the second string. He's lost some burst and is made of glass. He doesn't get enough praise for how smart he is though, the real reason the wildcat worked.

Giants agreed to terms with WR Michael Clayton.

Packers WRs are all possession receivers. Works OK for A-God

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.

Is James Starks A-Rod's first option?

I'm not defending Flacco as much as i'm attacking Cam Cameron

Cam's one victory as Miami's head coach was against Baltimore, they must have really liked what they saw that week...

Pretty sure he was a Giant last year when we had every WR injured.

6 games, 2 catches for 19 yards. Probably bench warming most of the time, although looking at his last Tampa years, maybe it was just status quo.

Deion Branch is one of 6 WRs to be a SB MVP.
So you are saying that Deion Branch is an elite wide receiver?

The only Pro Bowl receivers Brady has played with was Terry Glenn, Randy Moss, and Wes Welker. Branch is a good receiver, but far from one of the best.

Clayton was as helpful as Duke Calhoun.
Clayton didn't come in until near the end of the season when all of our wideouts went down and had to learn the offense on the fly. What's Calhoun's excuse?;)

Did we already discuss the fact that Cromartie thinks he's better than Asomugha and Revis?

Bwahahaha

He obviously isn't but if that chip on his shoulder helps him to step his game up I'm all for him thinking it!

Maybe just that bad players don't tend to be crowned SB MVP's? Do you think Deion Branch is a bad player who had one good game enough to be considered MVP of it?

What's the word on Devin Thomas?
He's lighting it up at camp from the reports that I've read. A couple 60+ yard bombs caught from Sage and our third QB we drafted. Gilbride singled him and Cruz out as standouts at the moment working with the 2nd team offense and said they are fighting for that #3 receiver spot. Both are viable candidates considering where we are in signing Steve Smith and the fact that he's likely to be out 4-6 weeks after the season starts.

Is it Miami and Buffalo in the Madden demo this year seeing as how their ratings were released first?

So yeah, I think Sweed might make the team.

Let's look:

Wallace - Lock
Ward - PUP
Sanders - Out 3 weeks at least w/injury
Brown - Making tons of mental errors (wrong route running)

ARE got cut, Battle is a career Special Teamer. Grisham might step it up, but I haven't heard much from him, or the Two UDFA rookies we signed (McRae and Greenwood. That leaves Sweed.

Who is injured w/ a pulled hamstring and out until today.

<---Awesome.

This. Let him think what he wants as long as it stops him from getting burned and motivates him to make a fucking tackle in the run game. haha

Lehigh...glad to be back!
Maclin is in camp today, but there is no practice due to CBA designating today as a day off. The media is unsure when he'll participate in practices. Only person left who isn't here is Desean Jackson.

The hate against Alex Smith is a little unfair, and for any true Niners' fan who's been aware of the coaching travesties the team has endured in the last 6 years, they'd agree.

Is he a Top 10 QB? Probably not, but give the guy a competent coach who actually understands the position and an offensive scheme that isn't constantly changing and doesn't make HORRIFIC use of the running game, and I'll be willing to bet he'll surprise a lot of people this year.

As a long, LONG time Niners' fan, I'm super happy he's getting another shot.

Here's a prediction: Smith outplays Kolb in 2011.

No but Vollmer is awesome and should be higher than an 81. Madden ratings are a joke. Say what you want about Branch but him and Brandon Tate are not even close to the same caliber of player.

Injury bug already got the super bowl favorite Lions. Nick Fairley in a walking boot on his left foot. Shame I would have loved to see that D line in action this season. At least as a team they are headed in the right direction.

he didn't say he was bad... just along the lines of say, Larry Brown, Dexter Jackson, and Desmond Howard as far as Super Bowl MVPs go.

Who gets picked up first? Tiki or Westbrook?

I am a Westbrook stan so I still think he can play. I would be giddy as hell if he is brought back on the Eagles to back up McCoy. He can still pick up the blitzes and catch screen passes.

Madden is out on the 12th or 30th? I could have sworn it was the 12th but friend tells me the 30th. August 30th seems really late compared. Doesn't it usually come out earlier?

Maclin back? Awesome!

This isn't the girlscouts any hate can justified with a little spin!

Edit: I would think Westbrook, tbh i'd be surprised Tiki gets a signing. Why waste reps on a dude that has been out of football so long? Doesn't make sense so I guess that means someone will actually do it cause there always someone that gotta do something that doesn't makes sense.

If Sweed could catch the ball he could make the pro bowl.

I would rather take a chance on some free agent vet than Sweed at this point.

Really? I think you're nuts if you don't think the offensive strategy is going to night and day from what it's been the last few years, and that's absolutely going to help Smith.

Why do you think Gore's holdout ended so quickly? It was never really about the money.

Anyone that holds out past the 9th or whatever date will not be credited a year towards their pension

Even at worse as a stress fracture its not a big deal. He will pre-season but its far for over for this year.
