Saints steal top NT Franklin off the market

Saints signed NT Aubrayo Franklin to a one-year contract.
The rich get richer. Franklin's market was slow to develop for unknown reasons, but the 31-year-old adds a dominant early-down presence to a suddenly loaded New Orleans front seven. Pro Football Focus graded Franklin as the No. 2 run-stopping interior lineman in football last season, and he was the anchor for a 49ers defense that allowed the fewest yards per carry (3.46) in the NFC. We're red-flagging the Saints' defense for fantasy running back matchups.

WOOOT!!

Patriots please pick up Osi!
Haven't wanted a player this bad since the Peppers rumors.
I enjoy watching Defense more than offense and these last few years have been torture here in New England on third down. I miss the days of expecting a huge defensive play nearly every play.

Those two fatasses + Osi = Sanchez has to beat Brady. :jnc

Also the main reason that Nate Solder isn't signed is that the Bucs have no fucking idea what they are doing when they sign players.

Or they could just run at Osi every single play.

That Thanksgiving game against Denver was the worst effort I think I have ever seen a big time player give. They ran at him like 30 times and he had no tackles, you would think one day he would have fallen down and tripped the RB by accident or something.

Thankfully I missed most of that one as I was traveling for the holiday. Listening to it on the radio was brutal enough though. There's a Dallas game that stands out in my mind as well, where they were running off tackle left almost the entire game and it was clear that they were targeting Umenyiora.

So who do Dolphins fans hate more now the Pats or Jets or are they equal on the hate scale?
Jets/Miami is an eternal hatred deep in the depths of the soul since birth. The Patriots are simply a common enemy interrupting our sacred blood feud.

The Saints run a 3-4?

Actually Gregg Williams will run some plays from a 3-4 and mostly from a 4-3.
But no we are not a traditional 3-4 at all. Improving our run D is huge though.

If they're anything like the last "dream team", I don't think the rest of the League has anything to worry about.
People seem to forget that before the Heat melted down in the finals they earned a two seed in the playoffs and were 12-3 combined in the first three rounds.

I was pleased to see 2 current and 1 former Patriot on NFLN's top 10 divas of all time list.

And maybe this new espin qb rating system is worth a look.

Player - Passer Rating, Total QBR
Kerry Collins - 82.2, 56.0
Alex Smith - 82.1, 40.0
Sam Bradford - 76.5, 41.0
Matt Hasselbeck - 73.2, 42.4

No one cares: It doesn't mean shit if you don't win the Championship. Just ask the Patriots.

What a disaster. I still cant believe the Fins had a trade for the QB they wanted but then they cheaped out. I bet Orton gets benched quick for Tebow.

What a perfect Segue!

Merril Hoge says Tim Tebow just can’t play

When Tebow was a star at Florida, he was a great fit for the Gators’ spread offense, but he wasn’t asked to do the things an NFL quarterback does, and his throwing motion looked awkward. Hoge says that Tebow’s throwing motion hasn’t improved and his accuracy is a mess.

“I just watched Tebow throw five out routes to a wide open wide receiver,” Hoge wrote. “He was 1-for-5! Two went in dirt two in the stands! That throwing motion he changed? You can’t change who you are! Just watched two throws and he throws like he did in college!! College credentials do not transfer to NFL, rah-rah speeches do not work! You must possess a skill set to play! Tebow struggles with accuracy!”

Only thing that matter is winning. everything else is meaningless.

Dude, that's like making it to the Superbowl unbeaten, then losing it. Unheard of! :)

How successful have NT's who have thrived in a 3-4 been when moving to a 4-3 environment?

Why would it make a difference? A 4-3 under is essentially a 3-4 with a declared end. They'll just ask him to plug up the middle, doesn't matter what the scheme is, he'll do it.

Edit: When the Saints want a pass rush they'll just kick Jordan inside.

Yikes! I'm glad the jags steered clear of him.

He is a RFA with a 1st round tender i think
This. There is talk that we might let him walk for the first considering the Jones trade but Grimes is arguably our best corner.

Mcnabb made a career of that. I dont think Tebow will ever be a good QB, but Elway seems determined to give him a chance, and that team is going to be horrible. Orton is not going to win with that talent.

Also what you mean thats not true? Has children made you soft?
Yes they have made me soft but I stand by that statement. Some teams vastly overachieve and for them to come up short doesn't diminish their accomplishments. If the Browns were to make the playoffs or even win the division I would say that that was a very successful season for them and I think most would agree. You are judging every team by what your definition of success is as a Steelers fan, but you can't apply that to everyone and every fan base.

For me a successful season is the Pats being humiliated and going home losers at some point in the season. For me a VERY successful season would be that plus the Steelers winning the Superbowl. For me the greatest season of all would involve the Steelers destroying the Pats in the AFC Championship at home and then going on to win the Superbowl.

We have all seen the first two scenarios, is this year going to be the year that we get the greatest season of football the world has ever seen? Only time will tell...

Colts not acting like the Colts by signing DE Jamaal Anderson, LB Ernie Sims, and DT Tommie Harris. Dont know much about these guys, pretty much a collection of busts?

Ugh wow. That was the worst game and effort I have ever seen from the Giants in all of my years of fandom. Worse than the 23-0 2005 playoff game, worse than the comeback loss against the Eagles last season, worse than the loss to the Browns in 2008. It was horrendous. Everyone should have been fired after that one.

Speaking of that does anyone have gifs of that last touchdown? I need to start stocking up.
