He should wear #26 after the legend of Mike Bell.JABEE said:Ronnie Brown is wearing 36! That's Brian Westbrook's number. I don't know how I feel about that.
Wellington said:I'm gonna miss Deon Grant, but TT at that third S position sounds epic. He's a great tackler and has excellent ball skills. The problem for me is that he's a good #2, so if Prince isn't up to par come week 1, who starts at #2 CB? I guess it's Aaron Ross, which I definitely do not mind, but moving TT is like asking a gold glove short stop to play third base.

Probably about the same if he got #22. Love West and will never forget the punt return before Miracle #2:JABEE said:Ronnie Brown is wearing 36! That's Brian Westbrook's number. I don't know how I feel about that.
He liked to hit people. That's what I liked about him. He wasn't starting material but he was a solid roleplayer who moved the chains when asked.CB3 said:He wasnt even that solid. 3.8 YPC with the Saints

But you have to let it go. 2003 to 2010. See you in 2017 Gints fans.
Somebody tell me about that guard the Eagles picked up. Evan Mathis.

To be honest, I think they're just as good if not better. Not that sad to see Franklin, Lawson and especially Spikes go.Gigglepoo said:The Niners had an excellent front seven last year. Now they suck. And that as their one strength. Can the league go on strike again?
Yeah but your team puts even less emphasis on the rungame than mine does.CB3 said:His 1.8 YPC with us would say otherwise.
His limited success was because everyone was scared of Brees throwing it over the top of them. I believe that was the year he had 5000 yards passing?
If he ends up on a roster this year id be surprised.
Uh what? 1) You should be thanking the Giants for showing the league how to stop Vick and the Eagles. 2) The only reason the game against GB turned out the way it did is that it's clear that after the previous week the Giants players didn't even care enough to play. If I was owner I wouldn't even pay anyone for that game.TheLegendary said:So glad football is back. There should be bans given out for mentioning baseball from now on.
Edit: Fewell is still using his 3 safety scheme that worked so well last year? LOL
I wish we played them again. This time it'd be 70-0

After watching that game, I think Giants fans had a similar feeling of what us Patriot fans felt like after 2007.Manos: The Hans of Fate said:Speaking of greatness with Merrill
Eagles Comeback Against Giants Called by Merrill Reese
Per a source with knowledge of the cap numbers, here are the seven teams that were in the red: Raiders ($17.3 million), Steelers ($11.5 million), Texans ($8.5 million), Vikings ($5.6 million), Lions ($5 million), Cowboys ($3.7 million), and Panthers ($939,000).
Not really. I still get a deep pain in the pit of my stomach at it. I feel downright sick just watching it. It hurt more because the Giants had totally dominated them for 52 minutes and suddenly checked out when it counted the most. In the end it cost us the entire season and a playoff spot (not that I think we would have made any noise in the playoffs anyway). Still, it is what it is - a regular season game - not some meaningful playoff game or Super Bowl loss.FlawlessCowboy said:After watching that game, I think Giants fans had a similar feeling of what us Patriot fans felt like after 2007.

Franklin was overrated. Spikes cant cover. Lawson cant rush the passer. We needed a change. Ice will be fine at nt as we are playing 1 gap. Mcdonald has already proven to be a good pass rusher. Aldon smith cant possibly be worse than manlaw at blitzing the qb and bowman was a beast late last year.
Carlos rogers is also an upgrade over clements.
Ps. Malcom floyd may sign with us today!
I watch the game about once ever month or two, so it doesn't bother me as much now. Like you said, the biggest problem is just how much they flat out dominated the game and then handed it over. It's moreso that the Giants lost that game than the Eagles won it. At the very least it makes me really optimistic going into this season.Futurevoid said:Not really. skinnyrattler said:I think they should guarantee all the first round rookie contracts. I'm glad they cut the price down but the players have crappy contracts compared to baseballand basketball. There has to be a middle ground. Not all guaranteed but some of them. Especially since football careers last the least amount of time.
Wow, looking at a site: D Jack is getting paid less than Avant, Maclin, Moss and Johhnie Lee Higgens? No. Stop. Seriously? GTFO

Gully State said:Not to mention how horrible we've been against screen passes in general (although early indications have been that Smith is pretty bad in coverage so getting burned on screens is probably not going to stop anytime soon). What about Ricky Jean Francois? I'm surprised there's no mention of him filling in for Franklin..Last year there was quite a bit of talk about him taking over the NT...
skinnyrattler said:I agree, that's why I think there should be a in between. I hated how Chris Webber kept sucking up money from the Sixers for years. Every baseball team has guys who are getting paychecks but not playing. However, the managers/owners give them the contracts, so how can anybody fault the players? I don't know. I like the shift in income to NFL veterans and I think it's okay for 1st rounders to have a lot in guarantees.

A source close to Osi Umenyiora predicts the disgruntled pass rusher may claim he's not healthy enough to practice after being denied a trade.
As we suspected, this saga isn't over yet. Though Umenyiora has yet to practice, coach Tom Coughlin confirmed it has nothing to do with the 29-year-old's offseason hip surgery. The Giants are expected to challenge Umenyiora if he sits out, and the NFLPA is "watching this mess closely" to ensure that there's no punishment.

DBebm5 said:I know sabermetrics folks like to make predictions by looking at anomalous stats from the previous year and anticipating a return to the mean. Here's one that may or may not be troubling for the Packers: penalties.
From ESPN, the total number of team penalties & yards for Green Bay in the Mike McCarthy era:
(format is #penalties (league rank)--yds)
- 2010: 78 (#5)--617
- 2009: 118 (#32)--1017
- 2008: 110 (#30)--984
- 2007: 113 (#29)--1006
- 2006: 90 (#13)--689
The Packers' penalty totals were in fact their lowest in something like 15 years last year. And that's skewed further by the 18-penalty mess in Chicago.
It'll be interesting to watch if their penalties are up this year. Hopefully the offense can take the parking brake off and compensate for any additional yards lost.
