Solder signed, what's the word on Prince? Is he asking for more than he is worth similar to Crabtree? (Fell farther than what everyone around them was telling them their talent is worth)

I like the way Snrub thinks!

At the end of the day, as a Colts fan, I'm happy that I have one of the greats, regardless of how he's rated. And it's great that he and Brady have been playing against each other so often the past ten years or so. It's great as a fan of the Colts and it's great for the NFL.

Sunday Ticket is godly as fuck even for 350.

It is. Although, I just called them and asked to cancel and they offered me the entire season (minus To-Go, which is another $50) for $160. I've been with them for a while, though.

I still might do it - streaming from non-legit sites sucks.

Problem is I like watching games with people.

It sucks that the NFL doesn't realize that people would pay for the service if they didn't have to use DirectTV or pay 350.

Part of the problem is they got into PPV early and still think some of those crazy early prices are logical (granted you get a ton more now).

Edwards wanted a long term deal and with his off the field probelms the jets didn't want to take that risk.

I'm surprized the vikings didn't step up to pay him.

They do realize it but DirecTV threw so much money at them for Sunday Ticket exclusivity that they don't care. It was a colossal amount of money.

he just signed to a shit team with alex smith at QB for 3.5 mill, there's no way he wouldn't have taken the same deal in NY.

not to mention they just cut cotchery and missed out on nnamdi, they had the space for a bigger/longer deal. should've locked up holmes and edwards for multiple years.

Yeah, you're right, it's just so fucking aggravating.

Currently, American satellite provider DirecTV has exclusive rights to NFL Sunday Ticket in the United States until the contract expires at the end of the 2014-15 season.[1] Prior to the NFL's latest television deal, other satellite and cable providers were allowed to bid on the rights to carry NFL Sunday Ticket if they agreed to carry the NFL Network. However, DirecTV still won exclusivity for the package, bidding over $700 million a year to do so. This has long been one of DirecTV's selling points to consumers, and thus likely explains the large premium they pay for the privilege. Still, the NFL has indicated that another reason they accepted DirecTV's bid was to limit the availability of the product so that the television networks and especially their local affiliates would be protected. In particular, NFL Sunday Ticket viewers do not count towards local Nielsen ratings; thus offering NFL Sunday Ticket on cable might cost CBS and FOX affiliates millions of dollars in lost revenue from local commercial breaks (as opposed to national ads sold by the networks). In turn, affiliates help subsidize the networks' programming costs.

Yep it's a real bummer.

Now funny enough

http://consumerist.com/2011/08/comcast-sues-directv-over-free-nfl-sunday-ticket-ads.html

Ever since DirecTV began running an ad campaign touting that NFL Sunday Ticket is now available at "no extra charge" (huge asterisk), we've been hearing complaints from football fans and DirecTV subscribers alike that these ads do their best to hide the fine print of the deal. Now it seems that Comcast has taken up the cause — and taken DirecTV to court.

"Unfortunately for consumers, the claim of 'free' is an outright lie," Comcast writes in the complaint filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

From the Chicago Tribune:
“
Comcast claims that DirecTV's strategy is to trap customers into the service, which requires a two-year contract with hefty termination fees and automatically renews itself in the second year. The service usually costs $66.99 per month for five months or $334.95 per month for one season. This information, Comcast claims, is not easily accessible to consumers.

Dude absolutely destroyed us in the playoff game.

Yes he did. If they could steal him that would be a solid signing. Another veteran on the dline to help the young defense, but I think Ellis is just doing this to drive the price up for the Jets. You know Ellis could be a big signing for the Pats. Jets fans how is Ellis in short yardage and the red area?

@RapSheet
Ian R. Rapoport
Notable practice moments: Mankins crushes Haynesworth on 1st inside drill. Next play, Haynesworth pushes him into backfield. #GameOn

Would have loved to see this in person.

That said, I guess it is better when they used to offer these things on PPV channels back in the day (and I think you still couldn't just get one game, but I may be wrong).
I've said it before: current movie/TV/sports distribution model protects corporate interests and discourages consumers.

And they wonder why piracy is so prevalent.

Actually, they don't wonder. They don't give a fuck, which is the problem.

Man, the way the defense played last year I really didn't get my hopes up for this season. But with all the positive Haynesworth talk, Bodden being healthy, the O-line resignings and Solder: Can't wait! Really excited!

Looking forward to see what the new RBs have to offer, keeping an eye on Dowling, and hoping that Cunningham/Spikes manage to take the next step.

I think some have adapted better than others such as MLB and NHL. So when people pirate those I tend to have a lot less sympathy for them and any crap they get (though mostly people sharing streams) as these groups are at least trying to work with consumer demand at decent prices and options.
