That would be true if Kipper hadn't kept up his play right through a tight playoff run and followed that up with a great playoff run (something many, many one year wonder goalies don't quite manage) and then played just as well for Finland in the World Cup. For me, the way Kiprusoff came back from a pretty bad injury and instantly started playing at his pre-injury level went a ways to proving to me that he might not just be a fluke. He's no sure thing, and he doesn't have quite the track record of Luongo, but it's not like he was some bum off the street with no credentials. He had a bad season in SJ after being thrust into the #1 role and then got buried by the Sharks crazy depth at the position.
