I think the problem with battle loadtimes is that it's sending a signal to live so your gamercard can say "In Battle" when you are. Disconnecting from live significantly cuts down on it, so that's my best guess.

Oh. My fucking. God.

The
Numara Dinosaur Invasion
was SO fucking HARD. Holy shit. I finally just beat it. What the fuck man. This game is so fucking hard.

But I love it.

So I ask again, are the dreams listed on that big sheet in order of when you obtain them? If so, is it possible to get ones you missed?
Yes, you can go back to cities you've previously visited in order to get missed dreams.

Wow, cashing in those first 20 seeds really paid off. The weapon and accompanying ring I got before entering the Sea of Baus really helps out a ton!

I gotta admit that grinding for materials to create rings is getting kind of tedious. I wouldn't mind it so bad if the battles didn't take forever to load and complete. Fighting's fun, but it just takes too damn long.

I wish I wasn't so damn anal about crafting 3 of every ring possible in any given area... :/

Eventually you'll be able to just buy the components you need from shops. Plus since money shouldn't be a problem you can make a ton of good rings.

Hahaha, I guess crafting rings early can help but really
later you can buy items from stores
and you really only need the elements for your tanks doing the attacking. I found having magicians attack (even with proper elemental equipment) wasn't as useful as just having them bomb away with magic attacks and healing. Plus for the early part of the game, you only really need at most two of each elemental ring, since you can change equipment mid-battle without losing turns.

Weren't dev costs on this pretty high though? Four dvds? That's a non-trivial amount of content

(or UE3 is a pig, olololol. hurrr.)

At the same time though, we're talking about a niche genre (JRPG) that rarely does well commercially in the U.S. unless it has "Final Fantasy" slapped on the title.

Plus, Blue Dragon bombed in the U.S. (probably didn't reach 100k for 3-4 months in the U.S.), so I'm sure Mistwalker would be content with 100k+ in the first month for LO.

Finished the second disc last night, and the game does a great job of making you hate Gongora even more. I love this game.

On a side note, is anyone else reminded of Prince Charming from Shrek when they look at Tolten?:lol

I don't know if this counts as a spoiler, but jesus. It's from like White Boa on I suppose.

I just noticed that the queen has vericose veins in her huge inflated tits.
I love this game.

Totally didn't mean to not play this for the past 2 hours, but DMC4 FINALLY arrived and I figured I'd play through at least the first mission. Well, I wound up playing a bit more than that. But now I'm done and back on LO.

Crap on a stick. I can't beat the first boss of the third disc, the Egyptian-looking thing with the 2 floating arms. I was able to knock off both arms but got killed a few turns in by the main guy because he kept casting Shadowus and I ran out of healing items.

Can anyone tell me what you get from
delivering the message from the Khent guy in Ghotza to the guard in Khent? As I'm not psychic and therefore didn't know half the world was about to be destroyed, it looks like I've missed out on it.

This game has only been out a little over a week and the game is over 40 hours long. Those people that are saying they are ready for it to be over, well, no shit. If I played something so much to have almost finished 40 hours of it in a week, I guess I'd be ready for it to be over too. This is not a fault of the game, this is your fault for playing it for five hours a day. I don't think any game could hold my interest if I played it that much in such a short period of time.

I'm plahing it from 1-3 hours a night and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. The pacing seems excellent when you aren't playing it every waking moment.

For what its worth my local Best Buy is sold out of LO. Talked with an associate and they have an order of 30 copies being UPS'd to them. Not bad considering Blue Dragon never came close to selling out (and came out with considerably fewer copies at launch.)

No, the story starts dragging by the fourth disc. It suffers from the same thing as Resident Evil 4, where the game itself is great, but it just needs to be 5 hours shorter (or in LO's case, 10).

Is there any rhyme or reason to the "timing" of a perfect as it relates to the counter that rapidly decrements on the top of the combat screen?

I've scored perfects with anything from 35-37, as far as I can tell, but only a 36 seems to consistently count. 35s and 37s seem to net me with merely a good most of the time. It's odd.

I can't think of a single hour I'd want to see removed from RE4, let alone five. I'm a few steps short of the final areas in LO and I can't come up with anything I would like to see taken out. Seriously the game is barely 40 hours as it is.

Obsidian Spirit Band(lvl 5 spirit magic), and there was a chest with an Awakening Bracelet(+3 slots).

I keep saying to myself, I'm only going to play this for at most an hour, and here it is 12:20 am, I missed american idol and one tree hill and yet I'm still playing it.

Thanks, I've at least found an Awakening Bracelet since then, so I didn't miss too much.

On Disc 4 now w/ 30 hours on the clock.

I think this disc will take me longer than the others because of side quests and other distractions.

Could anybody who has finished the game comment on the amount of side quests available in disc 4? I was kind of hoping it would take me longer than this to get to Disc 4, but I've enjoyed the game very much thus far.

The speed that the ring moves depends on how hard you're pressing the trigger. When I press the trigger down as far as possible then release quickly I think the counter is usually a 37 on a perfect.

Yesterday finished the dinosaur beast at the ice canyon. In the first cave before, where the monkeys are waiting, theres a treasure chest up on ledge, near the little beast frozen.

how can you get there?
And i tried to bring back the elmon crown to the monkeys but they kept talking about their revenge plan blabla. _I suppose you meet them again later.

I FINALLY recieved my copy rom P-A after four weeks.

We recieved a few Euro PAL copies at my work yesterday and it seems like this version is packed the same way as the US version.

On disk 4 now just grinding and doing sidequest now i would say it's pretty good story wise the 1000 year immortal story really does it for me and the 1000 dreams backstorys really help.

Can someone tell me how many immortals you have in your party throughout the game?
I'm hording skill slots in fear I may need them later.

I'm certainly taking my time. 20 hours in and only scratched the surface of disk 2. Bad choice of words as disk one was giving me all sorts of dirty disk errors by the end.

You can get the chest...you have to slide down a level on the previous screen...as for the crown
let it get stolen then talk to the king
.

I'm about 5 hours into disk 4 and I'm pretty sure my party is full.

4 immortals

Thank you! That is about what I figured from the story.

I'm loving this game. I've probably missed some good RPGs since I last played them(Grandia,Skies of Arcadia) but if I do take another 5 years off of RPGs I'm sure glad I squeezed this one in.

I've said it before but Jansen has made me LOL dozens of times.:lol

God Kakanas is such a douchebag.

Also,
Ming's dream
was most excellent. She's really come alive as a character since disc 3.

Also, it occurred to me this morning: how do the Numaran tanks make turns?
