get on G4 tv. They are having a live special on E3. btw, ps3 cpu KILLING the x360 as expected. hehe

G4 special seems crappy so far. which is to be expected i guess. they're just doing a round table discussion of old news pretty much. i guess tomorrow is when they're actual content will be airing

I want to see the hardware design and controller next!!! :D

All those memory media formats supported. 6 USB 2.0 ports. BC compatability with PS2 and PSone. MS just got punched in the balls.

Assholes.

HDMI is what PC monitors use right? If so +100000000000 Sony.

Also, Where's the built-in Wi-Fi? Is Nintendo the only mothercuking company that's going to put it in the box?

Hmm, doesn't the 360 have 512MB of RAM? I don't know much about hardware technology... but that doesn't really sound like a lot of RAM. I'd be disappointed if it's only twice as powerful as 360, I was led to believe it would be more... :P Maybe someone with more HW knowledge can clear up a few things.

Punch in the balls because of media formats supported and number of USB ports. :lol

hats off for recursive backward compatibility and 6 USB 2.0 ports. i was hoping i wouldn't have to keep my ps2 for psx games.

Where is the 10 TeraFlops performance coming from? Is this like the 360's vaunted 1 TF performance? I.E. The 360 CPU is 115 GigaFlops and the other 885 apparently comes from ATI's GPU? Nvidia deserves a prize for coming up with a GPU capable of 9.782 TeraFlops. ;)

PS3 has the same amount of RAM split off in a much more efficient manner.

512 is what the PS3 has, 256 main and 256 VRAM.

MS is the one promoting the multimedia HD ERA.

Sony just one upped them in every facet.

Blu-ray + more multimedia features.

the CPU advantage doesnt seem all that much, since CELL will be fast in some applications but slow in others. it will come down to teh GPUs i think.

Most PC LCD monitors use DVI. What HDMI does is take a DVI signal, combine it with a digital audio signal, and push it all through one plug. Well, that's HDMI in a nuthsell, anyway. There's a lot more to it, but as we move towards HD becoming standard, you'll be seeing more and more TVs adopt the interface.

PS3 seems like a well featured and powerful machine, support of Blu-Ray is big. Nintendo better be on their game, Microsoft on the other hand have a LOT to worry about.

Are we even sure the PS3 cell is actually clocked at 3.2Ghz. The way that performance chart reads makes it sound like they were just comparing the Cell to the X360 CPU at the same clockspeed metric, and not actually saying that's the clockspeed of the PS3 Cell.

Double D the Cell specs are a dissapointment, I was hoping for a 1-8 4ghz full on Cell. We have 3.2 Ghz Cell same clock speed as the 360 and although it does have a decent edge on flop rating its much closer between the 360 and PS3 than people imagined and finally the Cell in the PS3 in no way shape or form kills the CPU in 360. I wish it had but it doesn't, the spec are a slight disapointment for me, now show me the games.

Ah, so there's no way to use HDMI with my PC monitor then huh? Bummer total. Guess I'd better jump on the Hi-Def TV bandwagon then.

Wow, the main memory smokes the X360's. (over 4 times as fast) The graphics memory is the same speed as X360's RAM.

Yes, it seems powerful but alot less so than expected considering its coming out later. People were talking about 9 times the power based on 4 ghz dual cells but it seems alot less than that. Everything else were pretty much known already, blue-ray etc.

Actually it depends. HDMI is compatible with DVI so, for instance, if you had an LCD monitor with a DVI port, you could get a DVI to HDMI cable. They can be pricey though, so shop around.

Too bad the xbox 360 supports all those plus others. Ever heard of a usb card reader? They work on xbox 360, even the psp works on it...

Not at all. Microsoft are fine IMO

These PS3 specs are dissapointing if anything...

It's going to come down to the games as usual..

since i am no expert i have been following the beyond3d thread on the ps3

seems as though its impressive but not something that blows the xbox360 out of the water like many had believed.
