Well, what better than "gloomy" to show off all the awesome lighting? : )

Why do you think black and white movies are considered so classy? They really play to the lighting. I agree I'd like to see some stuff with a brighter pallet, but it still looks nice.
 
Come on Sony. Quit with the bullshit screens. At least MS was balls enough to skip this stage and release actual gameplay footage.
 
That size comparison seems strange, wouldn't the ethernet ports be way too small if that scale is right? And has anyone figured out why there are 3 ethernet ports?

The power supply input ports seems to match and they are standard ports.

Plus you could check the RJ-45 ports on both consoles.

okay, I think Sony has discovered some serious shit miniaturization technology that they're keeping from the rest of the world....
 
I haven't seen this stated yet, but all those connections on the PS3 are going to confuse casual (really casual) consumers. It's been proven time and time again consumers cannot read/follow diagrams. It could hurt Sony a bit in their attemps to expand their market. Or I could be totally off base... personally I don't want consoles to start looking like A/V receivers (I can't even figure those fucking things out lol). This looks fine for my tastes though, but not much more. The less plugs the better I say.

Edit: Got beat to the kutaragi image by 2 mins. Nice 3rdguy.

My thoughts: Ken got smaller, or the PS3 is bigger than a PS2. I had an inkling about what was coming and I knew it was a monster... but I am still surprised at how absolutely technologically superior the machine is.

Get past the CPU/GPU specs and you are looking at something we havent seen before.

Dual Monitor Support. 1080p. Bluetooth controller (meaning true, instant cross compatiability with PC). Wide memory card support. Built-in Wifi. It has Gigabit ETHERNET OUTPUTS! WHY? I dunno. Support for every single format other than HD-DVD. SA-CD support is killer, if they keep it high quality.

It is going to be like a black hole next to the tv. Anything wireless aware is going to be able to interact. I dont know if sony will play to the possibilities with their online service, but think about it.... what if your cell phone could sync with a player list, and alert you of impending games. What if your PS3 could stream video to the PSP over wifi? What if you wanted to chat in an online RPG (bluetooth keyboard).

7 Controllers and 6 USB. Ridiculous.

It just gives you so many new ways to interact... I am in shock.

you obviously don't know the importance of strong 'presentation'. Sony has plenty of time to prep the games- but just showing these demos is enough, as you can see, to get people creaming their pants. This is why they are the top dogs, baby.
 
Nintendo is going to blow everyone away with their console design. So far, both MS + Sony have done some sort of flub... not major but enough. Lets see how this goes.

I want ingame PS3 shots. The images are okay but they look like CG so... but that Spiderman commentary rocks so... well... Nintendo, balls in your court.

I imagine this is just pulled from the press conference video, but it's easier for people this way if they don't want to watch the entire thing.
