yup, and a local broadcast network for the two local markets

Be careful what you wish for. If we have a healthy Polamalu I don't think that is a good matchup for the Saints offense.Dirtbag said:If we ever get to a Superbowl, I'd rather slay a different team. Would love to demolish the Pats or Steelers in the SB. Would prefer the Steelers so we can rightfully claim the "BLACK AND GOLD" that the Stealers stole because they don't like the sound of "black and yellow."
I don't get the hatred for Big Ben from Giants fans? As far as I know he had nothing to do with their embarassing 4 game losing streak or did I miss something? You can't complain about his two Superbowl wins because he didn't beat the Giants in either of those wins (though he probably would have as the Giants haven't fared too well against the AFC North in the Superbowl). Does it have to do with the fact that they passed on the best qb from the 2004 draft class? The Frankman said:No, but he did win two SuperBowls while doing next to nothing. If the world was equitable that former casino card table woman shall smite a curse on him. Or the Peyton Manning karma will hit him, one or the other. Both are fine.
So the Pats will accept the guy who moons Green Bay (which according to Joe Buck was a worse tragedy than Pearl Harbor and 9/11 combined) and the Antichrist himself, but the guy who has the weakest rape case of all time thrown at him is too much for the Pats to handle?msdstc said:We accept people like that... we just don't accept rapists. That's usually left over for the steelers to gather.

Unfortunately I think the blackout is only local.alr1ghtstart said:In regards to blackout rules. I live in the Cleveland television market, and the MNF game might not be sold out. I know the game would then be blacked out on local stations, but will it still be available via ESPN?
Where do you live that at 1pm EST game is an evening game? Perhaps a European NFL fan?nightside said:guess my sunday evening match will be bengals vs pittsburg. gonna be fun.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_on_television#Blackout_policies* If the blacked-out nationally televised game is on a cable television network like ESPN or the NFL Network, all cable and satellite television providers in the affected markets must black out the cable network's signal to customers in the affected markets during the game (this is a condition of the channels' agreements with both the league and the providers). In addition, the game is not simulcast on a local broadcast station in the blacked-out markets. Local stations would still be able to show highlights on their newscasts after the game has concluded. In areas where the game is blacked out, ESPN and NFL Network would generally offer alternate programming; local stations originally scheduled to carry the game would either show their own alternate programming or, if a network affiliate, show the normal network schedule for that night.
Happens locally to the Raiders all the time. :lolDeaconKnowledge said:That really blows.

nightside said:Italy. I started watchin the NFL 8 years ago for the first time (XXXV superbowl, Ravens-Giants:lol) but stopped for a couple of years mostly because there weren't much matches on tv.
I "re-started" followin this season, college football too (great fun, great atmosphere, baffled by the rules tbh).
Good for me that i don't have a fav team so a i just enjoy the game(even if I still don't know all the rules nor know all the roles, expecially regarding the line)
zesty said:Do you mean the offensive/defensive lines?
nightside said:yup, for me a lineman is a lineman, I still don't get the differences between the different roles in the line, exept for the tight end.
Riversface.jpgCubsfan23 said::lol Rivers is gonna have 400 yards passing on the eagles now
I'd say there is very little chance of that happening. Green Bay's O-Line is practically non-existent, Ware and Ratliff have finally awoken in sacking, and Jenkins and Newman are starting to get picks with some regularity. Romo has always preformed well in Green Bay, too.tyguy20204 said:I'm calling it right now. Green Bay handily beats Dallas.
Rivers barely managed 200 on the Giants... are you saying the Giants secondary is twice as good as the Eagles now?Cubsfan23 said::lol Rivers is gonna have 400 yards passing on the eagles now
Would you be interested in slightly- used C.C. Brown? The C.C. stands for "Creative Covers". He's a lockdown dude!effzee said:Good thing we have such strong experienced depth at safety....oh wait.
Andrew McIntosh, a researcher at Australia's University of New South Wales who analyzed videotape, says there may be a greater prevalence of head injuries in the American game because the players hit each other with forces up to 100% greater. "If they didn't have helmets on, they wouldn't do that," he says. "They know they'd injure themselves."
Dhani Jones, a linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals who has played rugby, too, says head injuries in that sport do happen, but they're mostly freak accidents. "In football, you're taught to hit with your face," he says. "You're always contacting with your 'hat,' which is your head."
Taking away helmets might have other benefits for the sport. It would bring down the cost of equipment, which can be crippling for some schools. A slower game might also be more palatable to some parents. And with their heads uncovered, football players might be more attractive to endorsers.
Pretty sure he would have gotten more if a retard wasn't coaching the Chargers. How can you still start LT over Sproles? The Frankman said:Rivers barely managed 200 on the Giants... are you saying the Giants secondary is twice as good as the Eagles now?

The spot was bad, and it should've been a first down...but thats not why they lost the game...they weren't playing good football.woodchuck said:i can't enjoy the win since so many people are complaining about the spot on the McNabb sneak. Especially reading the stuff from Football Outsiders, they kept bitching about the spot.
i got this from another board...
[.IMG]http://i36.tinypic.com/24y0njr.jpg[/IMG]
Look at where the first down marker is in relation to the beak.
[I.MG]http://i34.tinypic.com/vq60x4.jpg[/IMG]
Look at where the ball is when his elbow is down. The spot was bad, but he wouldn't have got the first down anyway.
I don't think it would help. Players would just lead with their shoulders into the now unprotected heads. This already happens now in every game and the injury is limited because of the helmet.eznark said:I'm guessing you guys have already discussed it but this article on football helmets it pretty interesting.

FrenchMovieTheme said:oh boy! the 49ers game is tomorrow! lets have a multiple choice question for the game.
1. How will the 49ers lose this game?
A. Alex Smith throws 3 int's, but only 1 is actually his fault.
B. 49ers defense can't tackle, drop interceptions, and rush 3 defenders on 3rd downs.
C. Jimmy Raye returns to his run, run, pass, punt offense
D. Who gives a fuck? It's the 49ers and Bears, two mediocre teams. Bring on Sunday!
Old man Favre is starting to layer excuse upon excuse. I'd start to get worried were I you.MaestroRyan said:the packers' chances of beating the cowboys is like... zero point zero percent?
