Whooo went to the Texans game today. First time I had seen the team fire on all cylinders and do well on both sides of the ball. Yes I know its the raiders but cmon, we just got our first safety in SEVEN YEARS.

Also, holy fuck there were a lot of Raider Nations dudes there. I was sitting in front of some old raiders fans and the three guys did not know each other, were sitting about two or three seats from one another, all over 55, and all three had Raider Nation tattoos. Pretty hardcore. Do the nation travel as a pack?

Tennessee had a good defense last year and suffered relatively few changes in their lineup, asides from Haynesworth--and they're nowhere near as bad as their 0-4 would indicate, considering how close some of those losses were.

Not to mention that Fischer isn't so awful that he can't ready his team to win at least one game. Peyton might be playing great right now, but there's no guarantees that he can keep up his production six weeks into the season--and there's no guarantee, either, that the Tennessee defense will shit the bed like they did the last few games.

If Fisher couldn't get his team up to play in the stadium they used to call "their other home stadium" this week, then he won't be able to beat Indy.

Plus, Garrard just threw for 300 and 3 TDs on them, Peyton might break some records.:lol

So you're basing your argument that Tennessee wins, around the notion that Peyton is due for a bad game because his production is up?

And dually, Tennessee defense is due for a good game because their production is down?

Cute.
I guess we should just throw out those Peyton MVP comments. What were we thinking guys?!

With the way people are talking about Indy and dogging on Tennessee(including me) I think I just realized what game the upset of the week is gonna occur in. No way can so much bad mouthing of a team as good as they have shown themselves to be, with relatively the same lineup as last year, not deliver some quality ownage.

During a performance at Cleveland’s House of Blues Thursday night, Common dissed Quinn during a freestyle. He rapped that he “won’t mess up like Brady Quinn,” and then mentioned Derek Anderson in the next verse. After the audience reacted to the diss, it was noticed that Quinn was actually in the house along with several teammates. Ouch.

:lol

Right, because I totally believe that the Titans will stomp the Colts and romp onwards to a 12-4 season. I mentioned in an earlier post that it was just a gut feeling I had--the Colts are definitely better and Peyton is playing like a fucking god right now. My point, though, was that there was a definite possibility that the Titans might win, based on how good they were, as opposed to how good they are right now, with the chance that they could bring back some of their former glory.

Cute.
Where the fuck did I mention that Peyton sucked, and isn't the frontrunner for the MVP?

So it looks like I was right about Schottenheimer. I've seen this too much with him over the past...empty backfield shotgun on Third and 1. And what do you know, it came back to bite us in the ass yesterday.

Steelers need to play with the mentality that the Patriots did two years ago (Cheating and Devil worshiping aside), we need to play at 110% for the entire game. I don't care if you're up 38-0 half way through the 4th, knock some heads and get some more points on the board, run the score up... I don't give a shit. For some reason, when either side of the ball plays conservatively, they're unable to get it going again when needed.
The day the Steelers play with that mentality is the day I turn in my fan card and become an Eagles fan.

Also, the season in question in the Pats did not exactly end the way they wanted it to in Foxboro.

The lack of pressure and turnovers is really killing the D. Right now, teams would be foolish to go into a game against them trying to establish a run. Lebeau needs to do something, maybe get Hood some real playing time or something, something to try an change things up to get some heat going. Corners cover well, but they lack the hands to catch. Troy will certainly help, but he's not going to solve the pressure issues over night.

And the coaching needs to be slapped for not having a hands team out there for the onside. The only way the Chargers were coming back was for an onside there. Stupid.

Logan goofed returning that kick and then not going down, he's fighting too hard to get his first return TD. But that play should have been blown dead, so I won't get on him too much.

Coach em up Tomlin, get them to finish!
Defense ain't in sync. When we cover we don't get pressure. When we get pressure the middle of the field is more wide open than Tom Brady's vagina. I also was alarmed that they were not ready for an onsides kick and Al Michaels was. Never a good thing when Al Michaels is a step ahead of you. But a win is a win and I will take it any way I can.

I have no idea why the Chargers left LT in the whole game. He is completely useless, especially with the offensive line not creating any holes. Had Sproles been in the whole game, I doubt the Chargers would have been shut out in the first half. Neither would be able to run the ball, but at least Sproles gives them a real weapon coming out of the backfield. LT gives them nothing. He can't even block.

On the bright side, no way Belichick loses to to McDaniels next week which gives the Chargers a chance to lead the division after the Week 6.

Ok. Brett Farve is an overrated, has been, who can't handle life outside of the NFL because he is an attention whore and probably can't stand the sight of his family because they don't adore him as much middle aged white men and he only came back to Minnesota to try and ride Adrian Peterson's coattails to another championship (which he won't get).

Jesus Christ, all you guys ever fucking talk about is Brett Favre. Enough already.

I can't wait for the Packers/Vikings game to be over........... ESPN is annoying right now this is there SB game since the network will never host one.

Good point. I am only going to discuss quarterbacks that have won more than one Superbowl. If you take away cheating bastards I wonder how many active quarterbacks in the league have more than one ring?

That disqualifies Brady because his team was caught cheating, so help me out GAF, who is left? I feel like there must be at least one legendary qb who fits the bill.

We may disagree on all things basketball (Jordan > *, BTW), but this is quite possibly the greatest, most truthful thing you've ever said.

Don't count on it. If Favrey boy shits the bed, or if he plays lights out then this game will be all over ESPN for the next 2 weeks. Best case scenario is a close game and Favre has a mediocre game.

Interesting, Holmgren said (on Mike and Mike) he wants to coach again next season. Judging by how bad things are going for so many teams this season, I get a feeling that he'll have some options :lol

well... I shouldn't have started Mcfadden. The guy almost had negative yards for the entire game :lol

It's ok, I'm just glad Houston won.

has there been a QB this year that hasn't gone for 300 yards and multiple touchdowns? Schaub went for 350 and change and 4tds.
I guess sanchez didn't. I know Rofflesburger did.

Titans cant handle first place schedule?
And their pass rush and secondary are combining for a lot of suck?

Again I would like to reiterate my post from yesterday:
:lol @ any Texan fan that started a raider because they were playing the Texans.
I started the Texans D, thats how much faith I had.

You know what I mean, that was the season people were getting pissed because they were intentionally running up the score late into game. We need to adopt that mentality because we play worse than the Browns when playing conservative with a lead.

Let's list the active championship winning QBs have less than a 1.5:1 TD:INT ratio.

It is smart to play more conservative on offense and defense when you get a lead. More games in the NFL are lost rather than won. Remember that the Steelers going for it on 4th down and then an INT on a pass that led to the Bungles coming back in that game. And it wasn't like the offense did anything to let the Chargers back in the game. They got back in due to special team blunders, that has nothing to do with being conservative.

This is just playing Monday Morning Quarterback. The fact of the matter is that the defense has to step up and start contributing in the fourth quarter.

We just have to pray that Polamalu can come back and make it all better and that we can continue to run the ball. The offense becomes pretty explosive when we get any kind of running attack going.

Great shot!
Someone please make that avatar sized. I would love to give that to a Ravens fan when we sweep them again this year.

Good answer. We would have also accepted "qb's that have actually helped their team in multiple superbowls."

Jesus christ, the Giants schedule this season is ridiculous. I became curious after Tampa Bay at KC back to back. Enjoy the playoffs G men

The Raiders will rise up next week, just you watch......ahh, forget it.

Falcons fans what is the deal with Roddy White? Is he worth trying to trade for in fantasy?

I am debating proposing a Manningham and Moreno for Roddy White trade. My WRs are Manningham, Fitz, Sims Walker, Anthony Gonzalez, Wes Welker, and D. Avery. My RBs are PT Cruiser, LeSean McCoy, Steve Slaton, and Moreno.

I can only play two RBs.

After Oakland next week:

Saints
Cardinals
Philly
San Diego
Bye
Atlanta
Denver
Dallas
Philly
Wash
Carolina
Minnesota

The 4-0 is a bit of a mirage, I agree, but to say that the schedule above is easy is dumb.

People still talking about schedules...........sheeeesh other than 2 games the schedule is set in stone for YEARS IN ADVANCE.............

Not to mention whatever WWE belt he will win in Wilkes Barre tonight. Thank you Ben for giving us something to watch instead of the great ESPN Brett Farve jerkoff.

I am not a wrestling fan but I will be doing anything possible to avoid watching the game tonight. It's a shame because I've been meaning to catch the Packers because of how well A-Rodge is doing. Further, any chance to see AP is welcomed.... fucking Favre.

What a bullshit call. To rub it in even more, Brady actually laughed about it on the field. I've never seen a team bailed out of tough situations by referees so many times in my life.

I love stuff like this. I guess you didn't see the Ravens get the same "bullshit" call on Mike Wright. Or the 2 roughing the passers that we got week one that were not even close in the Monday night opener. Only the Pats get those calls though...that's a good one.

Finally Chicago am rid of terrible quarterbacks.

bionic am cry once Ben wins the WWE Championship and leaves the Steelers to pursue his wrestling dreams
