He could run for a million miles and 40 touchdowns and all the headlines would talk about is how great a game manager Favre was.

If he breaks 300 rushing yards in the game, it'll be because of Brett Favre.
you guys are so cynical

Put 'er in the 'ol vice!

Whatever happened to sorryaboutdresden the eagles fan?

NFL TV coverage SUCKS BALLS. *insert Favre quote block here*

Last night I had to wait 55 min into SportsCenter to see the highlights to SF/STL

On TV now they aren't showing shit that happened yesterday other than the shit game that was on fucking prime time network TV. That is really what we need right?

Isn't this good for both the general public and for the image of the NFL? I can't think of a single problem with that, other than the fact that they showed highlights at all if that's what you're getting at.

Hito shows up occasionally, Seattle's lucky that Carolina has completely sucked this year or he might've switched by now I'm thinking.
Excellent deduction. I can certainly understand how you would predict this given what happened in 2008.

Oh wait...

This surprises you? Not only was the game a blow out, it was against the terrible rams.
Unless your team has actually won something or has been a winner the last few years you're not going to get any coverage.*

*caveat East coast bias gives your NFC and AFC east teams more coverage regardless if they're actually any good.

Being a fan of Houston teams, even when the Rockets won they got no respect, we used to turn off the announcers because they were so bad and so biased.

When the Texans win often times places like espn will show highlights of the other team.
Same with the Lastros.

rest of the country to the nfc west: just pick a winner and let us know who it is. we won't be keeping track so be sure to leave a message

It was Sportscenter, a bottom-tier game and a big day for baseball. NFL highlights are scattered throughout the show with other sports getting time in between.

Ocho is quickly becoming my favorite player in the NFL.
I used to hate him, but lately he's really starting to crack me up

Where's a bitter Seahawks fan when you need him?
Yeah, I can see the Steelers fan crying about refs handing out wins, but it's difficult to argue hypocrisy when it's part of a more general pavlovian response to anything from New England and I don't really care enough to bother.

Good lord, Dilfer just showed some quarterback hits that weren't flagged and David Garrard was absolutely killed and pile-drived by a defender. That was silly.

Gotta make room for Tebow.

Also, I usually concede that Peyton is the better player when you look at statistics and raw ability, but I'd rather have Brady on my team any day. He's ridiculously clutch
Glad to see some well-reasoned, non-profane thoughts about Brady. Touche. Much appreciated.

And that was several years ago.
Several years ago as in when he pretty much single handedly got the Pack back into the Super Bowl?
(And lost it for them too with that pick).

Because if that's not the one, yeah, you are drinking the haterade.

You can't be a "washed-up has-been" if you didn't do something great in the past.

Yeah, he's awesome. I don't know how anyone could not like him. He's always hilarious.

Well well, so he now decides to begin contract talks again. How convenient since the Niners are now winning. I hope the Niners don't give into his or his agents demands either

DALLAS -- First-round draft pick Michael Crabtree left for San Francisco from Tampa, Fla., on Monday to renew contract talks with the 49ers, according to multiple sources.

Crabtree was unavailable for comment. The Dallas native and former Texas Tech receiver has been training in Tampa the past few weeks in Tampa.

Eugene Parker, Crabtree's agent, is scheduled to arrive in San Francisco on Tuesday. Parker declined comment when reached.

Crabtree, the 10th overall selection in last April's draft, is the only unsigned first-round pick. He has missed the first four weeks of the regular season.

The 22-year-old Crabtree is seeking money comparable to higher picks and has turned down the 49ers' offer for approximately five years and $20 million, with a reported $16 million guaranteed.

The 49ers have until Nov. 17 to sign Crabtree in order for him to play this season. If Crabtree is not signed and he is not traded, he would go back into the April draft.

So Braylon Edwards got into a fight with one of LeBron's boys last night. I guess it would be a big deal if Braylon actually contributed to the team at all. But he doesn't so I wouldn't be surprised if he got suspended just to keep his sorry ass off the field.

Not sure why LeBron had to put his boy on blast like that though.

BEREA, Ohio -- LeBron James called Browns receiver Braylon Edwards "childish" for allegedly punching James' friend early Monday morning outside of a Cleveland night club.

James said Edwards punched Edward Givens, a friend of James' and a promoter with a Cleveland marketing firm who was working outside the club around 2:30 a.m. ET.

"I've never crossed paths with Braylon before, but it seems like there's a little jealousy going on with Braylon and me and my friends. I have no idea why," James said. "I've never said anything to Braylon at all. But for him to do that is very childish. My friend is 130 pounds. Seriously. It's like hitting one of my kids. It doesn't make sense."

You're clearly jealous because Favre out QB-ed Hasselbeck in the playoffs back when.
Yeah, gotta admit Hasselbeck doesn't have what it takes to string teams and their fans around like Favre does.

Eh, what probably happened is that Lebron's little posse probably made fun of Edwards for being in a shit team, and the dude punched out the little bitch that said it. Fuck Lebron.

Me too. Since watching Hard Knocks I fucking love the guy.

Yeah, gotta admit Hasselbeck doesn't have what it takes to string teams and their fans around like Favre does.
No, but he perfected that whole "WE'RE GONNE TAKE THE BALL AND WE'RE GONNA WIN" method of failure.

dumbass raider fan gets arrested for running onto the field.

I heard another got arrested for talking shit and dropping f bombs to everyone around him and threatening little kids.

Stay classy raider fan.

Weren't kick returns supposed to suffer this year?

Seems like dudes are going as good as ever.
Jacoby Jones' return was on a free kick and the kicker didnt help his coverage team out by kicking it low and far instead of having more hangtime on it.

Could you do the wedge on freekicks?

Man.

What's worse is that it'll be worse when the Vikings play Green Bay at Lambeau.
You're assuming old man river makes it that far into the season.

Hopefully it's snowing. Come on climate catastrophe, give me -30 on November 1st. Lord knows Favre curls up and dies in cold games these days.

You never asked me if I liked the guy.

I think he's a fucking attention whore drama queen, but that doesn't mean that he's not a great Quarterback. Still.
You'd get the same response from anyone in Green Bay if they're being honest.

Nice try on the redirect though.

I'm from Wisconsin and I think you're insane. I wouldn't have capitalized quarterback.

Why would the Niners give in after they start winning? Doesn't this point to him giving in to the Niners rather than the other way around?

Either way, I think we could still really use him, would help our running game a lot to have a huge threat at WR, so I'm hoping he gets signed (not that we pay $30 mil though).

So Dan Marino was a bad QB too?
You're clearly jealous because Favre out QB-ed Hasselbeck in the playoffs back when.
Marino and Favre so share something special: 10 career playoff loses as a starting QB!

Did you guys know that Favre is on the Vikings and playing against the green bay packers (his former team) on monday night football tonight?

God NFL network is hyping up the game tonight like a WWF grudge match. I wish it was... I can see Favre throwing an obvious pick to Woodson and then pulling off his jersey showing his Green Bay jersey underneath only to have Aaron Rodgers give him a huge chair shot to the head ending Favre's career once and for all.
