I suggest watching the videos. It does suffer lag, but the game looks gorgeous in my opinion.

:lol @ the Atari Missile Command graphics. I can't believe I actually owned that game. Needs major anti-aliasing, like 100x AA.
Oh lol, the way you put it on the next line, I thought you were indicating it was another game. A badly mistranslated game title from Japan or something called "Tobacco Reference" :lolShard said:Yea, that is due to the cigar being used by one of the Bomberman heads.

This screenshot was taken from the Gamespot video preview of the game, seems to be the pause menu. You will note exhibit A, the word achievements seen in the menu, a staple of the XBLA. Indeed, we also have exhibit B, which by the way nobody else has pointed out yet, but the word leaderboards also appears in said menu which is another facet of the XBLA. Very interesting indeed.

It's just a typical sequel, more of the same and some new stuff. The focus in the sequel (that I didn't play a lot of as I still haven't gotten into the original yet, despite finding it interesting) seems to be on battle mode, though. Works like Lumines -- you share a playing field and the person in the lead steals parts of the screen. There were also power-ups which were mostly annoying.a Master Ninja said:Hexic is a great, completely underrated puzzle game, but how the hell could you make a sequel to it?
From what I played, it's the exact opposite. C/M wasn't a bad remake besides the fact that they halved the amount of rows, which was insanely stupid, but MC had annoying controls and it looks terrible and etcetera.Shard said:Moreover, from what I have heard, Missle Command is a far better classic translation then Centipede and Millipede.
I think I've heard of this game before. It is a lot more physics driven than a lot of other similar games.Rlan said:Heres another video of Switchball from the PC:

Looks pretty good - Like Pac 'N Roll without the stylus slashing controls, and it looks like it's got some really nice graphics too - but could be a bit boring without stylus control.

They added Japanese voices. I don't know if they're selectable in the English version, but previously the Japanese version only had English voices.McDragon said:I just updated Castlevania SOTN...

Looks gorgeous. And Sierra seems to be the publisher, so it's pretty possible that it'll reach XBLA.Shard said:USK Watch: A game called Switchball was recently rated for the XBLA Service.

Actually that looks like the "standard" configuration and wording used in just about all XBLA games. Me thinks GWG is 360 bound (eventually).Shard said:Anyway, in rumor news some of the eagle eyed obsessives found something interesting in regards to Geometry Wars: Galaxies that lend a bit of credence to the notion that it might be possibly coming to the XBLA.

joaomgcd said:This is completely unrelated to the discussion going on right now, but I just got all the achievements in Lumines Live!Man, that 180 second timeattack is hard! When I finally got it, it was like I was in a Zen state and all the pieces just fit together! I ended up getting 228 points, which is not bad (rank #440 worldwide) but then I looked at the top score... :O Still, 228 is great for me.
AstroLad said:Nice, I have the easy achievements but the Time Attack ones? Forget it.
joaomgcd said:That's exactly what I was thinking a few months back! I never actually thought I'd get them (that's why I never got them during all this time, I never really tried). But lately, I've been playing Lumines time attack while listening to some podcasts, and I don't think much about the game while playing because my attention is on the podcast. Oddly enough this allowed me to get progressively better to a point where I thought "hey, I can probably do this!" I was playing more on a reaction basis rather then on a "where do I put this now" basis...
The 300sec. is the easiest one, the 600sec. is the second easiest, the 60sec is the third and the 180 is the hardest. So, if you want to give it a try, go with the 300 first. Give it a try, you might surprise yourself.![]()
AstroLad said:Interesting. Only one I'd really tried was the 60 and the best I got was 54 so I figured the rest would be a waste but it makes sense that they'd be a bit easier. I'm hardly a Lumines pro of any kind though; never played the PSP version so this is my first exposure; I think my best local high score for Basic is around 250k so I'm quite the noob. Only thing that bugs me is that it can take so long to get to 200k but it's actually quite easy for me now, but then once the levels get really fast I just wind up screwing up and it was all for naught.
