Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Naruto is a unique case in that all of its top talent left to work on movies instead. Still, it's not as forgivable as it was even with its literal years of filler at the end of part 1 because it's all smack dab in the middle of a super important story arc. The chuunin exam filler was literally the worst example of how to insert filler into a series I have ever seen, and I'm not exaggerating.

OP's pacing issues are nothing compared to the hell that that show is in now.

It will, however, suffer more in the long run because you can skip the kind of filler Naruto is doing on a rewatch, with some exceptions. Not so with One Piece.

Spoilers from Aohige (partial only):

Chapter 805 The Mink tribe
New cover story! From the dock of the world - The 500 million berry man
We see seagulls flying to spread the news

Zoro is surprised at Carrot's weapon that shocked him
The Minkman woman and Carrot exchange that the situation is dire, as the invaders of the Whale forest may anger the "Guardians"
Usopp demands to know where the woman got her clothes, and what she did with Nami
Robin wonders aloud if they're cannibals, scaring Usopp

Carrot leaps high (VERY high, like a hundred feet) in the air, to see far ahead.
She sees fights in the Whale forest, straight ahead from the Kurau capital
On orders by the minkman woman, Carrot hops on the Aligator (Named Waanii/Wany, literally wani = gator/croc) and heads out.
She tells Ussop and others to head to the forest of Right Hip and take a left at the pond towards Right Stomach forest. The carcass of their friends can be found there. (!!)
She tells them to wait there and they'll meet them up later.

As Wany runs the minkwoman tells Carrot that those people are the Straw Hat pirates. Carrot wonders if they'll be shocked (to see their crew's bodies) but the minkwoman says what's happened is happened, can't be helped. She figures the intruder at the Whale forest is Straw Hat Luffy, and if so there will be no mercy.

Usopp cries at the death of his crewmates, but no one else is believing it.
Zoro says with Sanji with them, there's no way they'd be killed so easily. Franky and Robin agrees. They ask Law if his crew is here.
Law said he doesn't have a way of getting hold of him, he didn't expect to ever see them again.
He does however, have Bepo's vivre card. Usopp asks if Bepo is a mink people, and Law confirms it.

Law says this place is Bepo's homeland, but he doesn't have much memory of this place as he left the island when he was young.
Law says he has known Bepo for 10 years, and trusts him.

The co heads to meet up with Bepo instead of following the minkwoman's orders.

Meanwhile in the Whale forest, Luffy is fighting a bull-man.
Bepo (all in bandage) tries to stop the bull-man from attacking Luffy, telling him Luffy is an acquaintance of him, but he replies regardless this man is an intruder, and continues to fight Luffy.

Upon contact with the bull's head Luffy is electrocuted, but it has no effect on him.
A gorilla-man is surprised that "electro" has no effect on Luffy.
Jean-Bart triest to grab the gorilla man, but he easily throws Jean on the ground with his mighty strength.

The minkwoman and Carrot arrives on the scene, and quickly subdues the Guardians using bananas and red cloth. The Gorilla (named "BB", short for Blackback) and the bull (named Rody) are easily distracted by them.

The minkwoman introduce herself to Luffy as Wanda, a dog-mink. Carrot is a bunny-mink of course.
Luffy is surprised to see people just like Chopper in this land.
He says he hasn't done anything, those guys just suddenly attacked him.

From "Aohige" on 4chan. Use appropriate skepticism:

He says he hasn't done anything, those guys just suddenly attacked him.

Wanda tells Luffy that's because he is tresspassing in a forbidden forest.
She licks Luffy's face.

She tells the Guardians to forgive the man, she'll escort him.
An unseen man named Pedro above the tree orders Rody and BB to cease the attack and come back.
Luffy is surprised to learn he was surrounded. (Even Luffy was unaware of their presense)

Bepo is shocked Luffy doesn't remember them, as he took care of Luffy after the marineford war.
Luffy notices he's the talking bear at Law's crew.
Penguin (and the other guy whose name escapes me) also chime in that they've been reading the news, about them becoming allies.
Luffy mentions to them that Torao... I mean Law came with him to the island, and they are overjoyed.

In the Kurau City Robin notices how there's not a soul left in this city large enough to house hundreds of thousands.
She gathers the attack on the city must have been recent, as there are still fresh signs of someone living there (still soup in the pot), etc
Zoro notices a torture device, while Franky notes the huge claw marks on the walls.
There's also a massive footprint of an animal in the road.

Whether the city was destroyed by invador or in-fighting, one thing is for sure.
This city was destroyed only within this week or two.

Meanwhile Wanda is explaining to Luffy what happened.
The Dukedom of Mokomo was destroyed by someone named Jack.
The ground shakes and Bepo warns that Eruption rain is about to come.
Wanda tells Luffy to get on the back of Wany, she'll take him to the Right Stomach forest, where his friends are.
Luffy is in joy that he'll see Sanji and others again.
But Wanda looks gloomy, silent not knowing how to break it out to Luffy...

It was on this guy named forneverworld channel. One of the comments pointed out 42% of shippuden is filler while only 14% of one piece is filler thats insane thats 184 out of 437 compared to one pieces 97 out of 715

Most shounens have openings around 1:30 long. One Piece's openings are 2:30 long.

Every one piece episode has 2-3 minutes of the narrator's "Wealth, Fame, Power" speech about gold roger, plus another 5-10 minutes of recap from the previous episode.

So sure, One Piece may not have that many individual filler episodes any more, but basically half of every episode's airtime is "filler" in the form of recaps, completely pointless narration, and extended openings. And the remaining portion of the episode is stretched out using panning camera shots of characters/landscapes and unnatural pauses in dialogue/action. The result is a poorly animated, atrociously paced mess.

Well, the conclusion of the fight against Senor Pink was better than One Piece usually is. Some decent cuts there, albeit nothing outright amazing, but far better than what it usually is.

The real botch was the bullshit they pulled with Usopp sniping Sugar across Dressrosa. A good example of something filler that they added while keeping in tone with the source material, is when Robin and Bartolomeo were using the parachute beetles or whatever to get somewhere and they added a scene of Bartolomeo peeing on Doffy's grunts while flying.

Makes sense. So far they've taken down Heart, Spade, Club, Diamond, and Joker. Next up is Jack. Probably Queen and King next. I wonder if we'll get a villain codenamed Ace...

It's almost been a full year since naruto ended tho that's crazy i hope toei doesn't go that route with one piece. It's funny cuz i always thought with one piece's setup filler could work easily but i would never want it to get that bad

the problem here are the writers of toei that are not able to make good filler

Come to think of it, I wonder if Drake will be one of the playing card members of the underworld. He calls himself X Drake aka Diez Drake (10 Drake) and the spanish 10 fits with the spanish suit names that Doflamingo's officers were going with. So he could represent the playing card 10. He also transforms into a Tyrannosaurus Rex (King).

I'm going to say that they're not dead but Brook's DF awakening made him able to take other souls with him and return to their bodies later.

So they're just playing dead.

Well Ace's squad before Whitebeard was the Spade Pirates, and Law is captain of the Heart pirates. Wondering if we'll ever see the Diamond and Club Pirates.

I'm not sure about Ace being part of this. These playing cards characters are members of the Underworld and all of them seem to work for Kaidou. I doubt Ace had dealings in that. Law likely named his pirates the Heart Pirates because he was in line to take the Heart seat under Doflamingo and in remembrance of his mentor, who was the previous Heart. These names also seem to be codenames, whereas Ace was Ace's actual name.

Heart: Rosinante (Corazon), Vergo (Corazon)
Spade: Pica
Club: Trebol
Diamond: Diamante
(Corazon, Pica, Trebol, and Diamante are Spanish for heart, spade, club, and diamond. These are codenames.)
Joker: Doflamingo
Jack: Jack
10: X Drake?
Queen: ?
King: ?

Remember when the yeti cool brothers "killed" the straw hats...i do.

These minks are pretty darn strong and agile...*whispers carrot for strawhat.

Can Robin get any better in the new world?

Idk about jack if he's getting mingo back i doubt he'll be back on zou anytime soon so im thinking someone else is the antagonist or weeble somehow shows up

or,you know,it's just a dude called jack
I doubt it's a coincidence that a guy with the same kind of connections to the Underworld and Kaidou as all of the other characters with playing card names and has a relationship with Joker happens to have a playing card name.
The Queen is obviously Ivankov. In fact he might be both King and Queen.
Heh, what if it was Bentham? He is the queen of Newkama Land, which may have ties to the Underworld.

that would imply that the underworld has some kind of internal structure and gerarchy...which it doesn't really seem to be the case ,remember how many different brokers were looking at caesar's streaming, seems like a huge competiotion rather than one huge organization.
also, kaidou is BUYING shit from doflamingo,a member of the underworld..if one of his subordinates was a member of this "organization",he wouldn't need to pay for all those smiles.

also..who are all those characters you mention?
there was doflamingo and stop..all the other guys are dofla's subordinate, and that's the card themed group

It seems you have the Underworld and this card-themed group is a group that is part of the Underworld with ties to Kaidou. Doflamingo was Joker and he had subordinates codenamed after playing card suits. Then we have a guy named Jack and a guy named 10 who just happen to also work for Kaidou and the Underworld.

Lol, of course they're not dead, it's not even up for debate. Or, if they are dead, they are only "fake dead" and will get revived/woken up.

Interesting chapter though, I'm eager to read more. I still find it odd how Traffy left his crew on this island, I hope there was a good reason for that. Also, I can't get over how stupid they look with the suits that all of them wear -- all except for Traffy himself. It's like he makes it mandatory to his crew mates to wear this stupid costume but doesn't wear it himself, lol.

drake was called diez WAY before he joined kaidou and had any kind of connection with the underworld..since,you know,it's his family name
so even if you want to consider "10" as card themed,it really doesn't match with something like joker, trebol, diamante, pica and corazon which were all nicknames..
also, kaidou's men connection to the underworld it's being customers, like tons of people in the new world apparently

he was going on a suicide mission against doflamingo..seems like a good reason to me.
he said it in this very chapter that he didn't really thought that he would have ever saw his crew again

Jack is a pretty plain name. Some people thought that it was a reference to Jack the Ripper because of how he was said to be too violent in a conversation with Kaidou. But it could also be a reference to Jack Rackham being dropped and Oda rarely gives characters the personalities of real life figures to go with their name. But if he is a Kaidou division commander probably he is as strong as an admiral or stronger.

well,if he is on the level of marco and jozu,he should be slighlty below and admiral..probably doflamingo-level..although in onepiece power levels aren't really set in stone with the various OP abilities one guy can have

I'm liking this Brook theory, it would makes sense depending on the situation they were into. The last panels we've got from them, Sanji was schooling them Kaido minions, maybe someone that they knew was out of their league appeared and they faked their death.

Eh. People hype up admirals too much. High ranking Yonko officers are easily as good as admirals or even much better.

why, they are one of the three forces of the grand line, basically by themselves since VA have been less then stellar lately

also,at marineford we saw marco and jozu, high ranking officer of the strongest man alive, and they still lose to the admirals (although through shenanigans)

Half dead WB was leagues above Sakazuki and pretty much one shotted him. I can't think Kaido is much different and there's nothing absurd with some of his crew members being on par with admirals skill-wise depending on their gimmick/fruit power.

This Jack guys does seem to be a monster considering the foreshadowing. I don't even doubt he will get Dofla back.

yeah, but akainu was fine a couple of minutes later, kicking ass like it was nothing..of course WB at his prime is stronger than akainu..but we are talking about their subordinates..and if jozu and marco are of any indication,i can't really seem them being stronger than an admiral..although there isn't really an "admiral-level" or "high rank yonkou officer level" to begin with to compare

They lost the war but I don't remember Marco losing too many fights although he was running around like crazy being involved in everything. Probably the strongest marine in that war was.. Garp.
