Urouge is a monster. And that fight against Cracker went exactly as I hoped. I would've been dissapointed if Luffy didn't have to go all out.

Hopefully we see some improvement with Gear 4th, but as it stands Luffy is far away from beating an emperor imo

I'm actually surprised Luffy had to use Gear 4 to beat Cracker but that definitely establishes how far Luffy still has to go if he's going to take down a Yonkou/gives me another reason to believe he won't be fighting Big Mom here. Based on Brulee's comments on the other Rookies and how badly most of them have been doing, I wonder if Law will eventually end up joining Luffy permanently after the Kaidou fight? Obviously they will stay friends/allies, but I was assuming at some point Law would leave on his own again after taking down Kaidou and come back for a future big battle.

I wonder if the idea of Gear 4 having different forms will happen, because Luffy is bringing out Boundman really early and "Gear 5" probably won't happen for years, if ever.
The Urouge reveal makes me think that he's one of the stronger rookies and has been underestimated thus far. Taking down a Yonkou's commander and then making it out of her territory alive is no small feat.
Stoked that Luffy brought out Gear 4th this quick. We're really gonna see him get pushed to his limits here.

it's probably thanks to his fruit
it transforms damage in power,so it actually makes him stronger the stronger the opponent is,as long as he doesn't get KOed before he can actually use his fruit

I'm glad they're really building the threat of the Yonkou. I've thought for a while that Luffy isn't going to one on one a yonkou for a while, at least until he gets to fighting Blackbeard or Shanks, and that any Yonkou fights that do happen with Kaidou or Big Mom will be team efforts, likely with other supernova. My thoughts are that Luffy manages to avoid fighting Big Mom this arc, and that next arc he and Law free Kidd from Kaidou and the three of them work together to take Kaidou down (Everything seems perfectly in place for that, from them being the three to work together in Saobondy way back, to the Luffy-Law alliance, to Kidd being in a jail cell after losing to Kaidou, and thus in a position where he could owe Luffy a debt)

Hey OP GAF. It's been a while. I just wanted to stop by and mention that I've been living in Tokyo over the last month, and of course I've been to the One Piece amusement park in Tokyo Tower, as well as Sanji's restaurant in the same location, and Restaurant Baratie in Odaiba, along with a bunch of One Piece Stores across Tokyo, my favourite being in Shibuya. I've finally bought all of the OP books that aren't available in English, like OP Party, OP Colors, movie books etc., along with a bunch of other goodies. And now that One Piece Film Gold is airing in cinemas, there are One Piece-themed items in pretty much every store. Even 7-eleven has OP-themed candy. As an OP fan, there's enough OP stuff here to last me a lifetime, haha. Also on the note of the OP restaurants, you may expect them to be merely fan service and feature mediocre food at bad prices, but like every other restaurant in Tokyo, they feature great food at very reasonable prices, while also having amazing theming. Oh, and there's a One Piece live show in Tokyo Tower which is really cool; for being live action it's about as good as it can get.
Anyway, I just wanted to drop by and mention this awesomeness; I'm sure everyone has already seen photos of all of this stuff. And yes, Urouge is awesome. Let's see him come back soon so we can have him in Pirate Warriors 4 pls.

Yeah, I can't see Cracker being down right now. The purpose of this battle is that while Luffy is strong, he isn't close to the level of an Emperor, struggling with one of the commanders. Going right into Gear Fourth. Then again, it's possible Gear Fourth has different forms.
Of course, now that Cracker has pissed off Luffy with those comments about Sanji, he's not going to hold back at all.

Every time we see a close up of Brulee, I can't help but see her as a female Buggy. Anyway, Gear 4th seems set to be the standard fighting form for Luffy against the top-tier fighters. I hope there's forms other than Boundman, or G4 might quickly get boring. Then a big Gear 5th reveal against Kaido/Big Mom.

Great chapter. Take a look at that little cracker house that the Homie's are running away from? It's probably Brulee's mirror witch cottage but there is a cat sitting on the roof. Maybe it will be this arcs Cheshire Cat?

Nah thats Killer, hes the Sanji/Smoker of the Supernovas.
His bounty came from cruelty, right? Maybe he harmed someone close to the celestial dragons or something, and in actuality he's not super strong. After all, anyone can look strong facing off with jobber marines.

True, but after Sabaody, Kidd's been getting whooped in every fight he's been in. He's like the Vegeta of One Piece.
Oda has been using Kidd and the other Rookies as ways for the audience to grasp how much more powerful an enemy is than Luffy/what Luffy has to overcome, but as you just stated, because we aren't seeing the Rookies other than Law and Luffy do much, it's backfiring in the eyes of the audience. It's hard to think of Kidd as being on the same level as Luffy and Law when we haven't really seen him do anything other than forming an alliance.
