For all we know Ace could have surpassed Jinbe by the time the Marineford arc came around. At the time they fought to a draw wasn't that before Ace even joined up with Whitebeard?

Unless of course after the timeskip Sanji and Zoro have both maybe surpassed Jimbei? Hard to say as we haven't really seen Zoro/Sanji go all out since the timeskip. They have to have something hidden up their sleeves.

The rivalry will always be there not like zoro is walking away unharmed but no I dont think sanji can win when its all over even if its a last attack type thing for both of them zoro is getting back up first at the very least. As for the timeskip o theyre both hiding some shit for sure and definitely gonna grow even more

Ah well I mean of course Zoro has always been stronger than Sanji and I suppose always essentially able to rival Luffy or possibly just slightly below him. I was more figuring that Oda always seemed to have that 1st, 2nd, 3rd thing with them in terms or power levels, who they fight on the enemy team etc..
But yeah looking forward to seeing them go all out and show off what they learned. Especially looking forward to seeing more Zoro as I feel he hasn't done much post time skip.
Why are you assuming jimbei didn't get stronger during the timeskip?
Oda has always portrayed jimbei to be roughly equal to luffy. Even though those were not serious fights, i think that was the intended message behind the mini fights after marine ford and on fishman island

Who knows maybe luffy will be his own tier and the 1st 2nd 3rd will be Zoro jinbe sanji. Or maybe sanji becomes second who knows.
Zoro is in this weird spot where hes been seen in less of a struggle than the actual captain its a bit annoying to me

Jinbei is stronger than Sanji. Had Sanji spent the timeskip specifically training the whole time to improve his strength like Luffy and Zoro did, he might have kept up, but he didn't
He didn't have a specialised teacher and spent at least some of the time on his cooking skills instead.

Aha there it is, I've been trying to figure that whole scene out. Coulda made that a little clearer Oda.
They've definitely been hinting at skills Jinbei could bring to the crew for a while particularly from a fighting perspective and from a crew "filled with anchors" perspective. But it really didn't distinguish Jinbei from someone like say Law or any of the "X for Nakama" fodder outside of Luffy specifically giving Jinbei a crew invite. This is the first time I've seen an example as to why the Straw Hats as a crew need a Helmsman in the story and what potential it could bring (escaping dangers, sailing places they normally couldn't, etc...).
Better get ready to wear a dress again Sanji.

Jinbei was really awesome this week. Luffy is still getting demolished. I really don't know how he can stand up to Katakuri right now.

Ah no, I'm not some Sanji stan by any means. Based on what we know of the story so far since the time skip and in general: Zoro is the strongest non-Luffy straw hat. That gap between Zoro and Sanji has only grown over time.
Of course it makes sense given that Sanji is primarily a cook and a Fighter second where as Zoro is a pure bred fighter who only cares about getting stronger. Was enevitable.
And judging by what we know so far I would say everything indicates that Jimbei is definitely stronger than Sanji too by presumably a solid margin. I guess what I'm saying is that Jimbei is kind of an unknown for exactly how powerful he is, does he top Zoro? Maybe we will have to wait and see.
Also as I think we can all agree both Sanji and Zoro are hiding something/haven't really gone all out yet. Like some people have surmised Sanji could be hiding Okama kempo but be ashamed to use it and Zoro could have some kind of "limit release" where he could open that eye. (Could Luffy still be hiding some tricks? He seemed to go mostly all out on Doffy so it looks like his next stage will be Awakening of his DF that was teased in Dressrossa)
As a side note it would be interesting (although probably unlikely) if the next time we saw Mihawk if he too was missing an eye/had a scar on one. It could indicate that Zoro advanced to such a level that he was able to injure Mihawk while training (let's say pushing himself to his max while Mihawk underestimated him or something). Although to be honest it's very unlikely I just like throwing shit out there as a bunch of "what if's?" so don't take this as a serious theory or "fanboy wet dream" or whatever. I can already sense the backlash comments

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Katakuri fight. Will Luffy surprise him somehow and manage to injure him enough to escape?
It would seem weird if he beat Big Mom's strongest fighter before "really" taking them on.
But it would make sense if he injures him and manages to escape back to the Sunny. That leaves a wall for Luffy to overcome and a kind of grudge for the next time they fight?
Or maybe Luffy will just do some crazy shit and beat him.

Big Mom is completely self-centered. She doesn't care about the care of her family. I could see her killing one of her children who fails her, no matter how powerful they are. That being said, I don't see Katakuri getting beat this arc.
With the crew safe, I think Luffy will use Gear 4 to escape rather than simply win the fight. This whole arc has been about how out of league the Strawhats are. I don't see Oda giving Luffy a win against the no.2 of Big Mom's crew at this point in time.

Honestly it's too early for me to even say what the ending could be (the One Piece is literally impossible to predict), and any "bad ending" I can think of seems too out of left field for the series.

I think the bigger problem is there isn't really a good bar for some of the non-fighting skills in one piece.
Yes, we got told Chopper is a much better doctor (but hasn't done anything new of note other than his rumble balls improvement), nami is apparently better as a navigator, but we can't really tell other than the manga saying she is. The same goes for Sanji, he was supposed to become a better cook, but we don't really have any evidence that he is other than the manga saying so, please believe us. Like, maybe he only developed the ability to tell ingredients from the smell of the finished cake during the break, but we don't actually have any way to know that.

Clearly Luffy will die in the final few chapters as a final screw you to ensure there isn't a sequel (I'm not going to say two piece because while the name will be dumb jump seems to prefer esoteric dumb). So that tis franchise will not drag out for another 20 years.
There's 11 members of BB crew (twelve if you count Stronger). Add in carrot and you can have match ups for everyone.

It sort of feels like Oda is positioning this side of the crew to have some sort of power-up/growth, but it's hard to tell whether Luffy's competence is something new or just the serious side of him that crops up now and then.
