This was a cute and fun episode. But goddamm that ending.

Kuronekos sister reminds me of Jun from K-On. She was hilarious.

Finally got a chance to catch up after getting a break from work. I feel bad for Saori, since it seems like she is becoming the third wheel in all this commotion. Friendzone-chan is more adorable than ever, though it's probably because she is starting to grow on me. The whole thing between Kirino and Kyosuke is getting weird now.

So not only is Kuroneko better than Kirino but her imoutos are better at being cute than Kirino is.

Damn.
?_?

I didn't know this existed. All I'm going to say for now is episode 7 had everything I could have ever possibly wanted in an Oreimo episode. Kuronekoooooo~ <3

Hi Oreimogaf. I'm here for the Kirino.

6-7:

Until Kyou-chan and Kirinrin fuck, they're never going to be able to move on and sustain relationships with other people. They're way too hung up on each other right now. What's most hilarious is that over the course of the past year, Kirino has achieved Inception and has successfully planted the idea inside of Kyousuke that he really does want to fuck his sister without him realizing it. Leo DiCaprio ain't got shit on Kirino.

8:

You know, between Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! and this show, sometimes I think it would be fun to have a girlfriend who has the titular "2nd Year of Junior High" Syndrome. For about a month. Then I would probably want to strangle her.

Oh, and dat ending. I was spoiled on it before so I knew it was coming, but still. Shit's gonna be real.

Ringo's Destiny Diary was more awesome and creepy and stalkery. Kuroneko's comes off as too chuunibyou and not enough stalking. Of course nothing will ever be able to top Yuno's diary.

I know...just watched it last night and I was like NOOOOOOOO!!. Great episode...do love me some Kuroneko/
Kamineko
. The funniest part was
when the older sister asked Kyousuke if she could call him "Bitch-onii chan" or something along those lines :D
.

Any one got any thoughts//planning on picking up the PS3 game in September?

Depends on how import friendly it is. I know enough to wade my way through the Super Robot Taisen games, but I still end up not getting much of the story. That money might be better invested in getting the $280 Japanese BD release of S1 ;).

So I just came to kinda of a revelation/idea that I could be totally wrong about. Remeber how we were so sure Kirino was in on the whole
Kuroneko/Kyosuke
thing? She was still surprised to find out. I think she was still in on
another one of her friends being in love with him and that's who she was referring to with the "if a girl you cherish confessed to you soon" thing
.
Can you see where I'm going with this?

I laughed at that part too. Like I said, the sister reminds me of Jun from K-ON! She's a troll.

Absolutely :). It'll be fun to see how that develops.

Episode 9

Best episode in weeks. Easily.
Now that they've laid their feelings out in words, maybe some of the anime-only watchers will come to understand how things stand a bit better. The lack of Kyousuke's internal narration has lead to some pretty significant differences in common interpretation, and this episode addresses that a little bit. There was one particular internal line that I was hoping for but got excluded, but it's probably for the best anyway.

You can really feel that this was the end of a volume, and the end of a major arc. If I were adapting this show, I would have ended here, as episode 12 or 13 (and used a third season for the rest) - it just has that level of climax, that makes it definitely feel like a season-ender.

...But it isn't, of course, so we get the next episode title!
I was so sure they'd be skipping volume 9, but apparently not! I still doubt we'll get the showdown side stories that I wanted, which is a great loss, but at the very least the wedding dress story is in. There's also basically no way they'll leave out my angel's chapter, since it provides context for the dress story. (Plus, Claris cross-promotion.) And who knows; they'd have to pace it much more leisurely than usual to make a whole episode out of just those, so we might get some surprises too. But the most important part is that soon, we'll have anime images to replace the second PSP game's ending screenshot that's always used to troll gaming side threads!

Ahhh, I'm finally looking forward to an episode again. Hooray.

Lots of feelings and dram this week. Have to agree with PosionBolt on most points about the episode.

The [spolier]ClariS appearance[/spoiler] thing is true? This has me excited more than you can imagine!

There's a certain appeal to Kuroneko about her being super absorbed in her character and self-made life fiction I don't particularly find all that moe, and this episode kind of cements that. Anyway, if she is completely aware of the dynamics, her schemes are a ridiculously roundabout way to get what she wants (eventually, I guess, in the distant future?). Are there really any serious romantic aspirations going here, or are they all just mechanisms that the author uses to develop the sibling relationship story? It seems like at this point, anything or nothing can happen.

btw, what's the resort town that they go to?

So there's just one more episode left now right? And then it does the weird two choices thing again?

No, looks like we get the full13 episode season now. Im trying to track down the source for the end thing now to see how they're going to do it.

I'm starting to think that was just a rumor. :/
Found it.
Well, there are the three extra episodes after the normal season ends, and at least those are going to be simulcast worldwide in some form as well.

Just saw Episode 3. Wow was that a good one. Total unexpected background.

"Bageena Begins" is actually my favorite episode of this season.

9:

Kyousuke: If you're against it, of course I won't date. At least, not for now.
Kirino: "Not for now?" Then when?
Kyousuke: When you have a boyfriend, I guess.
Kirino: But aren't you against me getting a boyfriend?
Kyousuke: Y-yeah.
Kirino: Then we're stuck.
Kyousuke: I guess we are.

GOD DAMMIT WHY WON'T YOU TWO JUST FUCK ALREADY AND GET IT OVER WITH

Yep. Same here.

Man Unknown, those black bars are tempting.

Exactly. Skip the formalities!

Found it.

I see. That was only a couple of pages back, but I seem to have passed it!

By the way cj, would it ruin our social link if I said Saori > Kirino?

Yes, yes and yes. I'll be in Japan when it comes out, I just hope I make the pre-orders.

Episode 9 was really great, but also really bad for my health. Watching this show is taking years off my life, I swear.

It is very interesting to see
how they're handling the transition from the first season, where it wasn't very clear that the reason Kirino seemed like such an ass was that Kyousuke saw her that way, to now slowly starting to turn the tables.

Yes.
Not really, as long as it wasn't Kuroneko, WE COOL.

You and me both buddy. Have you read the novels?

Yes.

Largely. I stopped after the second season of the anime was announced though, I'll finish reading once it's over. As good as the novels are, I enjoy watching the anime more for some reason.

Thanks to this thread constantly hovering the first page, I watched one episode Friday night and ended up marathoning the series this weekend. Damn you all, because slice-of-life isn't my usual anime fare.

That said, if he actually ends up with his sister, I'll be pissed, because they've done a much better job of making me believe these two want to be good siblings to each other (wanting and succeeding two different areas, of course, but I thought the end of episode 9 showed movement to that, especially in Kirino's case), not that they want to bone.

Even if you want to think Kuroneko's "Ideal World" is pointing to that, to me, she just wants these two to know they both care for each other, and being flippant to one another isn't the way to do it. She thought once she did that, she would no longer be needed (possibly because Kyousuke wouldn't forgive her, or Kirino for that matter), but her updated take means perhaps the siblings could have a healthy relationship, and she could also be part of it.

And I hope for more Sour Bags in the final episodes.

Good good, now. But you forgot something. What's your allegiance, son? WHAT TEAM!
