Boyhood feels overly long, boring, weird, exciting at times but ultimately quite aimless, hollow and vapid.
Just like the movie. Maybe that was its point but I didn't enjoy it, although I see the colossal task of filming and editing over the course of 12 years.
The Imitation Game is probably the most unimaginative, run of the mill movie I have seen in years. The acting was ok, not great, barely ok with Cumberbatch's mix of his Sherlock role with a tad of Sheldon Cooper, and the movie itself felt so extremely predictable and without any suspense that I really started wondered if I've seen the same story in a different movie before. And I'm pretty sure I did. At least something vaguely similar. And don't even get me started with that epilogue text crawl that in my humble opinion didn't fit the tone or drama of the complete rest of the movie.
Didn't see the other nominees yet.
