Because Microsoft had to add features, the PS4 already has since launch.
yeah like suspend and resume, or friends notifications, or mp3 support...
Let's be honest here, both launched in an embarassing state. They were missing core features(like a car without windows or a radio it can drive, but wtf?). Even though I have my pc connected to my tv so I don't need media player capabilities from those systems, it's laughable at best that a 400/500$ console can't play back video files in 2014.
Still xbox one is getting their shit together, sony isn't. That's why xb1 dash > ps4 dash imo. The usability has improved by a lot since launch on xb1, the double tap the guide button to open the clean snap menu makes voice commands finally unnecessary (I HATE VOICE COMMANDS). And even if the first time you start, the game needs longer to install, i'll get those 4 minute difference back over the next couple of plays, since suspend and resume means no game loading times. It's just there when you turn on the console, and I can just turn off the console in the middle of what I'm doing since I don't have to worry about losing any progress. I don't use a whole lot of the features of my consoles except for the features directly related to gaming, friends list, Achievement/trophy overview, party chat and suspend/resume and lets look closer here:
friends list: Friends notifications and snappable friends list, so this goes to xb1
Acheivement/trophy overview: snappable, you can see how you are progressing while playing so again xb1
party chat: Vastly better sound quality on xb1 so again xb1
suspend/resume: xb1 wins by default. This feature is so good, that it alone would justify 900p over 1080p for me...
Don't care for media playback/TV/music (even though spotify for custom game music would be nice)/apps just what can enhance my gaming experience and dashboard wise, xb1 wins hands down here...
(worst by far is my wiiu though, why is it loading so long to go into settings ffs?)
