Glad to see Spider-Man 2 getting its due. It still is one of the best comic book movies of all time, really capturing the classic Spider-Man feel.

The salt regarding the Avengers is always amusing.

I've seen almost every film on that list and lots of them in the cinema and none of them match the cinema experience of watching Avengers opening night. The audience were practically bouncing off the walls by the end. It deserves all the praise it gets.

lmao. this sums it up right here

Relax. There's no wrong opinions here. I do know the movie is highly regarded, and it is also one of those I'll give a rewatch. The last time I saw it was as a teenager, and I found it utterly boring, so that's what I got from it. But I do understand how it can rank #1.

Well I mean yeah, I even said that your opinion is valid. :p

I've got LOTS of issues with the placement on a number of things, mostly The Dark Knight Rises, Mask of the Phantasm, and Scott Pilgrim. But whatever, these lists are always going to be plagued with major issues.

At least there isn't a movie I absolutely detest in the top 10, so that's good. Civil War is WAYYYY too high and I'm not putting DOFP in the Top 10, but they're fine as movies.

So whatever.

I could make the same statement about seeing The Dark Knight the Tuesday before it opened. It'll be why TDK is always #1 for me. Sometimes, seeing a movie in the right situation will always affect your point of view, which is good!

I would have a few more films above Avengers, but it is definitely a top ten superhero movie, so wherever they want to put it, go for it.

Kenneth Branagh's Thor is better than Tim Burton's Batman? Maybe if you've suffered a severe blow to the head and were drifting in and out of consciousness, but otherwise I don't really see it.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Batman Begins is a much better movie than The Dark Knight.

I can dig Incredibles being number one but Avengers at two is a bit much. Swap that with Batman Begins and good stuff.

Is it weird that I like The Incredibles movie, but i don't like it's message? Always felt a bit Ayn Rand/Neitzsche to me. Entirely possibly I am misinterpreting it though.

What? These two shouldn't be that far apart, at least put blade 1 on 12 or 14.

That's the Stephen Dorff penalty. Cast Ethan Hawke instead of Dorff and you jump 10 spots.
Replace Dorff with Craig Sheffer and you're off the list.

Note the lack of Dorff anywhere else on this list.

I mean, at least they got #1 right. Avengers stuff is way too high, though. Civil War at 7 is just laughable. They're better than Batman Begins and the original Spider-man? Hah, no.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a superhero movie???

It's closer to Star Wars than it is to Batman/Ironman/Spiderman.

Does anything based on a comic count as a superhero movie?

It's based on a superhero comic but they nerfed everything for the movie.

Interesting to see that many superhero movies ranked, but not sure about the inclusion of some. Wouldn't really call Masters of the Universe or Scott Pilgrim as superhero movies.

Very solid list. I would move a few around as my preferences, but I do appreciate the high sodium Posts regarding the Avengers. Those never get old to read.

I just noticed the criteria on Kick-Ass

Doesn't Keaton Batman not qualify then? Nothing is extraordinary or supernatural, and Batman himself is not superpowered.

What would you define as a superhero movie?

That's a good question. I would say it involved costumed superheroics fighting evil, but even that's open to interpretation, as much as the criteria they're working on. Robocop could easy be on the list based on their criteria.

MotU, I'd consider more of a fantasy movie if anything.

Scott Pilgrim plays with a lot of genres and conventions... so you can argue it belongs, but I think people can agree that it's a pretty unconventional entry.

Just finished reading the entire 100, and I gotta say it's a pretty damn good list. And while I don't necessarily agree with all of it, they do a good job laying out why the movies ranked where they did. And seriously, it's hard to argue with #1.
