Path of Exile 2 - THE Game to Save Gaming

Yeah and i assume its pc only not counting console. They launch right before weekend too and in EU prime time. We cooked
my guess is the key total is combined platforms. would be an odd announcement otherwise.

Maybe I should have checked before I bought EA on pc and ps5 but does anyone know if cross platform progression is in this lol… love to carry on regardless of console / cloud or ps5 usage

Yes, you can link accounts on the path of exile website

Progression yes, but for now micro transaction like extra stash tabs or cosmetics are locked to one of the other. I hope that Sony changes this.

I find 99% videos of YT creators extremely unsatisfying.

It starts with clickbait thumbnail + headline.

And then it's just a loop of overused old footage while some dude reads texts from the official website.

I am going to go in like I play Souls games. No guides, no advice, no looking for OP builds. Just playing, exploring, respeccing if I find a cool unique, etc. If I have so much trouble that I get stuck for a while, I may break down, but for now going in blind. Well, as blind as possible. I have watched some closed beta vids, but nothing that is sticking really lol.

Agreed. Feels like a game to be discovered and learned yourself.

For anyone new, try to save your 300+ points for a stash tab sale. They are typically every 3 weeks according to this site, which would put it on track for Next Thursday Night.

I barely know anything about this game and have just bought it. I've not played this type of game before, even with something like Diablo, so I'm excited to dive in blind and get immersed figuring things out for myself.

I launched the client to see what it did. There were over 2000 people waiting in the queue on PS5. I wonder how many of them will keep that screen up until it launches.

Nice vid showing all the classes:

Thank you for this. This game looks insane. What really sells me is the attention to player agency. When the Mercenary blasted a wall of ice onto the ground, then shot it again and the shrapnel also damages enemies and that is an intended strategy...that's the shit that makes games special.

I'm looking at Warrior and Witch.

Somebody make a poll to guess the 24h peak players for PAID-EA.

Atleast 200K.

Over 1 million key redemptions the day before. I have 3 friends who haven't even purchased it because they always just buy digital games the day of. I think it will hit 1mil+, IF GGG has the server capacity. It's the weekend and it's payday. Steam alone? I'll say 700k. Many players will be using the direct client, then you have console. This is GGG's Elden Ring moment.

I think they'll max their server capacity. I think the CEO said they load tested and the servers started buckling under testing at 1.6m, but real world is always worse so i'm gonna guess they'll start buckling around 1.2 concurrent and they'll hit that.

So how realistic is it to play more than one character? It sounds like the ascendancies lock you in at the very least?

I ask because for instance in Destiny 2 it's kind of expected that you play all three characters and the various subclasses as needed (though relatively few end up being meta).

In my Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2 days I always rolled with random race and tried to get good with them all to varying levels of success.

It seems realistic, if that's what you enjoy doing. It all depends on what your goal is. If your goal is to get to max level as fast as possible, then of course playing multiple characters isn't going to help you there.

1.5 million concurrent players at it's peak. People crave a deep ARPG and it seems the World has found PoE in the past week or two. I'm expecting 3 million sales first week. Johnathan and his team have done a great job promoting the game this past week.

What's the easiest way to get this? Just purchase one of the packs via Steam?

There's no advantage to going via the website is there?

I probably won't get to play today but that just gives GGG time to fix whatever server issues crop up.

Also I will be playing on steam deck so I do expect some level of jank from that alone but it is early access so I expect that going in.

I think my initial class will be Warrior into Titan while dual wielding 2H weapons as I want to see how much they have improved melee combat.

As we have to pay for this version of the game. I will hold the devs to the same standard as any other dev. Servers better work or the game have an offline mode.

If Blizzard cant get their server right in a 99$ EA for D4, imagine GGG that IS waaaaaaay smaller them Blizzard and also GGG is giving your 30$ entry fee back as in game currency, so at the end of the day, you are paying 30$, they are giving It back to you, that makes the game actually "free"

You are paying to beta test the game and they haven't hidden that fact. If you can't handle that, request a refund and move on.

I purchased it via Steam and it was actually cheaper than 30 euros... It was like 26-27 euros.

You don't have to pay for anything. Early access is for people who want to help find bugs and crashes and provide feedback on balance. Wait until it's free to play and save yourself the headache.

Do you have a link to the direct client?
