PC Gamers Assemble, Let's Demand PC Ports From Sega!

Too bad Trails in the Sky hasn't released yet. If that did and performed well, along with Revengeance would have been good examples to point towards for any ports.

I would love bayonetta on pc (vanquish too)
I have it on ps3 and love it but the framerate drops and it looks like shit:(

is resonance of fate actually good? or is it just desperation for any jrpg/lowered standards in hindsight after final fantasy 13 and a lack of jrpgs this gen, kind of like some psp owners pretend TiTs was anything more than a 6/10 game

You're asking for too much!!!!!!!! Things like this need to be done one step at a time!!!!

Don't stop believin'~~~ hold on to the feeling

Hell if I know, but game looks pretty cool.

I missed Otogi on the original Xbox and I have sense lost the console, I have always advocated for Sega/Platinum to partner up for a rerelease.

That and the sequel always looked so awesome to me.

I remember really enjoying the first game when it came out, only ever played the demo for the second game, but yeah I really liked them none of my friends had played them. Everyone had a PS2! lol

Really liked the combat and the floaty flight-like jumping.

Some people love it to bits. Its oozing style and is pretty different thats for sure in a lot of good ways. Problem was the combat system being a bit too... over done. It was a real heavy system right from the start that turned most people off for a bit, most who stuck through it though ended up enjoying the game from what I can tell.

Resonance of Fate its an interesting RPG. The combat system is unique to it and the characters are likeable. The story its convoluted but it has interesting concepts behind it. One of my favorite RPGs of this generation.

The combat system isnt even hard once you get the hang of it you'll plan your strategies better and work the fights better. I got the hang of the combat quickly.

I feel the game would stay 30fps due to the way the animations are done actually. >.>

A PC release of the Valkyria games would have saved the franchise. Also fits with Sega's existing PC audience.

Resonance of Fate was really (really) fun for the first 15 hours or so, learning the (innovative) battle system and getting used to the (unique) setting. Then it gets a bit repetitive. Still, I'd say those 15 hours are worth it. Also one of the most technically accomplished JRPGs this gen engine wise IMHO, especially considering the budget.

Hello my name is destx and I would definitely torch an orphanage for a Bayonetta port on PC. I am SO goddamn hype for REVENGEANCE

Lets get this started! This twitter account is official and responds to users.

I cannot find a reason for any of these titles to not be on the platform.

Bayonetta - There is a dearth of character action games available right now and Rising, a Platinum game in a similar vein to Bayonetta, was the top seller for 48 hours during the Steam sale on its debut.
Vanquish - 120 FPS, do I need say more?
Valkyria Chronicles - Strategy RPGs are the platform's bread and butter
Resonance of Fate - The FFVII and FFVIII releases on Steam have sold quite well despite not being the best of ports and so late. The battle system for this game seems well-suited for higher frame rates.

Feel free to request other Sega games as well, there are plenty of contenders so pick your favorites!

Yakuza series
Shenmue 1/2
JSRF
Skies of Arcadia
Otogi 1/2
Panzer Dragoon Orta
I came in here to say "Why?". You proved me wrong.

Damn you Sega for making me forget about you because you never port to PC.

Was wondering when you would show up in here antitrop.
I was working all day, but I must show my support for Vanquish and Bayonetta. The other games are fine, too, but I need Bayonetta and Vanquish on my PC.

They're both two of my favorite action games of last generation. At least Bayonetta runs at ~60fps-ish, but Vanquish at 30 is just a crime against humanity (I blame Havok physics).

I read about that, would love to see that particular game come about. I'm actually in the mood for a JRPG.

I played Skies of Arcadia at release on my Dreamcast, and then again when the superior Gamecube port came out, and I would love to play it for a third time in glorious high resolution.

I mean, I guess I could run the GC version in Dolphin, but I don't know how well that runs.

It's not too late for that. After the price cut, Valkyria Chronicles went on to sell over a million copies. That's actually good for Sega standards. And given the game's use of cell shading it would still look great today in higher resolutions. And if they convert it to PC, they might as well release it on PS4 as a digital download. At a lower price point, I'm absolutely convinced it would sell enough copies to make the conversion worthwhile.

Isnt Yakuza pretty much an playstation exclusive?Maybe People should concentrate on multiplats

Gonna retweet anyway
Yakuza isn't exclusive because of any exclusivity deal. It's because Sega believes the fan base of the game is on PS3 and mainly in Japan.

I had major audio and performance issues the last time I tried playing Skies, FWIW.

I'm struggling to wrap my head around why this has had such a postive reception on GAF and Twitter, but the complete opposite reaction on Reddit.

I am struggling to get upvotes.

Because Reddit is a bunch of casuals that only have PCs about as powerful as the last generation of consoles, anyway.

Try explaining downsampling and the value of 4K to Reddit, they never get it. It's hilarious.

I can get behind the idea of getting VC on PC. I just bought a new copy two months ago and loved the game to death. Will tweet about this.

I'd buy Yakuza. I played the first one way back when it came out in the US on the PS2 and bombed so hard. I loved it though, really excellent game.

Wii U has Yakuza 1 and 2 HD.

As for the porting it shouldnt be hard. Look how Typing/House of The Dead were done. It was a small team of 4-6 people doing the job. The assets exist, the code exists (For House) its a matter of moving it and tweaking/optimize it to work on PC.

Ah didnt know that, but yeah the hd version werent localized. But thats another problem with sega games

Let's get this a thread on Facepunch for more exposure. It likely won't get the negative feedback it's getting on Reddit, and at worst people will just ignore it.

I'd go about making an FP thread myself, but people there really hate me and I swear damn near half the site has me on their block list.

Reddit is a haven for the boring mainstream fedora nerd. Strong feelings about everything they aren't into, which happens to be nearly everything. The only way to find proper informed communities there is to dig into obscure subreddits, but that won't help you much with a Twitter campaign.

Obviously GAF has its share of uninformed angry nerds but being generally informed about gaming in general being a basic requirement to not getting yourself banned on the gaming side helps quite a bit. We only have like one insufferable meme a year, it's pretty nice around here.

I think people also struggle with the big picture narrative for a move like this.

Something that wouldn't be conducive to a place like reddit. I am having much more success when I posted it to r/steam

guess i'll look for a second hand copy next time I pass by a game store, a durante recommendation makes it worth a try for me:p

I have said this again and again but I would really love to have Bayonetta on PC.

was that game any good? i feel like i never heard anything about it once it released

I really really liked it. I never got that deep into it since the MP scene was pretty dead. Hopefully a PC release would revitalize it (atleast for a few weeks)

It's great, but it's very much a multiplayer game first, and with that kind of low profile release the online community dried up fast.

If it had that kind of focus then I'm surprised it wasnt on PC in the first place.

Niche games find a way to keep communities alive for years.

Has anybody mentioned Virtua Fighter 5 yet? It really should be included in the OP :(((((((

Edit: I'm crying the orange tears of Nagoshi over here because of this Grief.

I did my part and RT'd.

I would love to see the Panzer Dragoon games on PC. There ALREADY is a PC version of Panzer Dragoon, but none of the others and Orta could use an HD re-release.

I bought Typing of the Dead Overkill, Sonic CD re-release, Binary Domain, Jet Set Radio, Nights into Dreams, Sonic Generations and All Stars Transformed and more. Loved them all. Hell, I even got the Genesis tiles on Steam. I grew up with the Genesis as my 16-bit console so, yeah, god dammit, SEGA come on!

Even Ikaruga (a title that marked the Dreamcast albeit third-party) is coming to Steam now. With the prospect of Radiant Silvergun (a title that marked the Sega Saturn) coming too!

We managed to get Dark Souls. One day I dream we see Armored Core too (there is Project Nimbus in the meantime) so I guess getting SEGA's attention should be more plausible...
