Out of all these games, I'd love Valkyria Chronicles to be ported the most. I secretly hope a pc port would revive that franchise as the ps3 version was released between a load of AAA titles. It was such an amazing game and it deserves more sales.

I'd be doing some serious double dipping if Sega were to go along with this. But that's fine by me. =D

Did my part several hours ago.

The main reason I even still have a Xbox 360 is the Xbox SEGA games like Jet Set Radio Future.
I have no problem rebuying them, likewise the classics re-released on Japanese PS2. I understand Saturn won't make it, especially the lost codes.

I personally don't even need English, I'll get it in Japanese if need be.

I'll be supporting this, if there's one company that's open to port old games to PC it's Sega.

Porting Bayonetta to PC would likely be a relatively cheap project and I'm confident it would do well enough to justify the port. Plus with the release of Bayonetta 2 next year, it'd essencially work as a way to get the series discussion more alive.

Valkyria Chronicles fits the PC market well enough in terms of genre, and I'm sure it would sell decently at worst.

Plus it would be a way of finally getting the characters of those series in Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed

That is awesome.

I feel like a strategy RPG would be the most successful on the platform.

Sega is strange when it comes to PC. On one hand, they own Relic Entertainment and Creative Assembly, 2 big time PC RTS studios and PC has apparently done very well for them, yet outside of Sonic games and older classics the Japanese side is as reluctant as almost any Japanese studio to embrace PC gaming. I'd love to see that change and I'm surprised that it hasn't already.

I just contributed a bit. If Sega can't do everything my personal first choice would be Skies of Arcadia. Just put the Gamecube code on Steam in 1080p.

As for VC, that makes me realize that Japanese SRPGs in general would be pretty awesome on PC. Most would be really well-suited to a mouse and keyboard. Imagine Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre on PC. SE has already optimized the iPad version of FFT for retina display which is a much higher resolution than 1080p. Strategy games are also an existing staple on PC, so there's a chance those games could find a new audience.

Imagine JSRF in 1080p+
Anything coming from Smilebit's Xbox games (JSRF, Panzer Dragoon Orta and Gunvalkyrie) would look amazing in HD even by today's standards. I think all three games even ran in 60fps (not entirely sure about Gunvalkyrie).

Pretty sure port begging is a no-go here.

Also, this is going to fail, as it's a scattershot approach to a developer whose home market doesn't give a flip for PC gaming. What you guys should do is focus on a single title and then make it profitable for them when it gets released. Also, if they haven't already translated it, I doubt they'd do it now.

If the mods really had a problem, I don't think this would have made it 8 pages.

I believe the main reason port-begging is a bannable offense is because it can derail topics and doesn't really add anything of value to a discussion. A self-contained thread expressly for that purpose isn't nearly so offensive.

As said 1000 times in this thread already. This isn't the type of banned port begging. The banned port begging are the posts that derail threads. This is it's own thread.

Sega gives more then a flip about PC gaming, they are heavily invested in the platform and have repeatedly claimed that Total War is their biggest franchise currently.

  • This isn't bannable 'port-begging,' what's frowned upon is going into established threads and derailing the discussion.
  • Hard to just select a title and go, would fragment the community. Show Sega there is significant demand and allow them to make the best financial decision. I would suggest VC or Bayo, realistically, RoF probably won't happen.
  • All of these games already have western releases.
  • Sega has also, quietly, become a PC powerhouse in the last year or so. If you weren't heavily invested in the platform then you probably wouldn't notice.
