PC Gamers Assemble, Let's Demand PC Ports From Sega!

It's great, but it's very much a multiplayer game first, and with that kind of low profile release the online community dried up fast.

The online was fucking atrocious. That's what killed it. Terrible interface and the netcode was hot ass. The "low profile release" doesn't matter since it would have been quite niche anyways. I think it would do better on PC though, for sure, and I'd love to see it there in order to actually get more out of it. Even if the online was still shit on the port I'd be more motivated to slog through the single player stuff if it were running gloriously on PC.

I bought Typing of the Dead Overkill, Sonic CD re-release, Binary Domain, Jet Set Radio, Nights into Dreams, Sonic Generations and All Stars Transformed and more. Loved them all.

I was just playing Jet Set Radio yesterday, it's amazing how well that game holds up when you can play it with a controller that actually has a second analog stick.

It wouldn't hurt to ask for Atlus games PC ports, now when Sega bought them, would it?
Just to let Sega know that we want them too.

Good gameplay and design is timeless.

Yes! Sweet jiminy christmas, port Maken X Sega!

Done my part, tweeted Sega, would absolutely love to give Skies of Arcadia a try. I remember trying to find it for my Gamecube but I never could. Do this one for me please Sega!

God, could you imagine how rabid fans would be if they decided to release the Persona series on PC? Steam would be down for days.

actually what I anticipate if something like that were to happen is massive amounts of salt from that subset of people who believe the game should be PS3 exclusive

Oh no, I expect that too. But they would still buy it. ;)

Now, if you want massive amounts of salt, announce Persona 3 FES with female protag. People would lose their shit (mostly because it changes the canon).

Holy shit, I didn't even know Nights into Dreams got a PC port.

Just bought it right now, was 50% off on Steam for $5. YAY

That was quick.

Multi-platform development doesn't make games worse, brings in more fans and more revenue.

The only negative to that is it costs more money for the studio up front.

If sega releases them, ill buy them day 1. Ill ask my twitter using friends to spread the word.

That will go a long way, thanks.

I would love to get the Sonic Unleashed on PC just to have the game play at a stable 60FPS during the Werehog and daytime sections while looking beautiful and not a stretched sub 720p image quality. Sure you can play the Generations Mod of it, but I would prefer to have the real thing since Werehog wasn't all that bad.

Same goes with Bayonetta and Vanquished being held back by unstable framerates. Would love a definitive experience with them. And being able to play at 1080p + higher.

I'm surprised P4G/P5 isn't on, at the very least 3DS. Other consoles/PC would be quite successful as well.

In my humble opinion, Sega sits on mountain of money and don't give a damn about it. Imagine what PSO2 alone could do for them on PC properly released or VF or PS generations (remakes) translated and released on PC, or SMT series or even Catherine (this would do gangbusters on PC (><)

All the Japanese publishers have IPs that would be quite successful on the platform.

They all seem to be slowly coming around.

Yeah, Square released FFVII and FFVIII, and they seem to be doing pretty well.

I kind of suspect that in the next five years, we'll see ports of lots of older games. There is a lot of money there, but it has taken a ridiculously long time for publishers to realize it.

I bet they love tweets, but you know what they love more? Sales. Maybe we could show them we mean the tweets by buying Jet Set Radio HD on Steam? It's barely 1'99€, although I guess most of you have it already. I just bought it myself to show support.

If we could bring it to top 20 on Steam that would surely get their attention, at least on JSRF.

What is really perplexing to me is how timid and misguided some of the first attempts can be.

For instance, I already said this in another thread months ago, but just to stress the point:
I have genuinely no idea of how CAPCOM looked at the PC platform and decided that no one here would like a Monster Hunter or Dragon Dogma, but everyone would love more Lost Planet or a Remember Me.

The Japanese don't seem to be great global businessesmen.
The majority if the publishers are struggling to find a place and profits this generation.

The majority of their decisions are bizarre at best.

Lost Planet 3, DmC, and Remember Me all run on Unreal Engine 3, that may have something to do with it.

Of course, it's not like MT Framework is hard to port (we got RE6), but it is an interesting coincidence.

This is really puzzling, especially DD. MH thrives on hh, but DD would do great on PC.

Yeah, Lost Planet is a head-scratcher.

Is DD MT Framework? I know MvC3 was but that's fuckin never coming to PC lol

Wow, I didn't know that either. I haven't played the original, but I've read about the game and was very interested. Bought.

Dragon's Dogma is definitely MT Framework.

MTFW Version 1.0:

Dead Rising
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
Devil May Cry 4
Resident Evil 5

MTFW Version 2.0:

Lost Planet 2
Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Dragon's Dogma
Resident Evil 6

Monster Hunter Tri runs on MT Framework Mobile.

Hasn't Monster Hunter always sold somewhat poorly in the west? I'm not surprised Capcom thinks a Steam/PC release wouldn't change this and it's pointless to make a PC release for japan. Dragon's Dogma is a bit baffling though. You'd assume that for a new IP you'd try to get it on as much platforms as possible.

They only published Remember Me though.

Yes it was. If Project Unleashed had Eggmanland Day segments, I would never have incentive to ever touch a Werehog gameplay segment again. Repetitive boring filler.

I enjoyed it when you actually leveled him up to actually blaze through the level fast enough instead of wasting it just on Sonic right away. Made it much more bearable for myself.

Would love it if they ported it since people would buy it regardless of how bad it was, but thats very unlikely since that game is unlisted now?

That makes DD's absence even more profound. I want to play that shit but I'm not going to be able to tolerate the framerate.

And I guess I'll blame Marvel for no UMvC3 on PC.

Considering that MT Framework is a PC engine in the first place, it kind of makes absolutely no sense that Dragon's Dogma isn't on PC. MvC3 because of licensing, but every other MTFW game is on PC. =/

I would have expected the massive success of Dark Souls: PTD to spur Capcom into action, but alas. :(

To be fair, they probably thought that Western PC gamers would like a western looking IP instead of a port of a Japanese IP, given how badly most Japanese games sell over here.

That said, one either failed to inform the execs that PC gaming is where niche games thrive in the west and/or the executives just didn't care/ignored that information.
