Weird, I did not feel this episode all that much. The Poi-case was rather boring and the personal moments were not as "honest" as they should have been. The ending was still great and overall a solid episode, but last mid-season finale was much much better

You did not think it was weird/interesting that this case should of fallen under terrorist activity but the Machine gave it Finch/Reese instead. Machine is either getting smarter or the Govt ignored it so the machine passed it to them.

that was pretty interesting, but I did not care for those people. I enjoyed the episode anyway, I just feel like it could have been better

Robbing a bank isn't considered terrorist activity. They never planned to blow up the building.

They robbed enough explosives to be compared to Timothy McVeigh by Carter, it was enough for her to be concerned and put out an APB, might have gotten the attention of the F.B.I. if she mentioned they stole explosives on the APB.

I would imagine no matter the motive the Govt would like the Machine to tell them somebody robbed enough explosives to take down a building.

And there are groups (freedom fighter/activist/terrorist) that have robbed banks before to fund there cause.

So how good is this show? On a scale of:
Revolution(shit)..............................to 24?

I'm looking for a new show for the holz. Is it procedural or something to that will keep glued to the end.

24? I loved 24 but POI in another league, it literally is the closest live action Batman TV show we will ever have.

It's a mix of procedural and serial and it does it very well compared to some other shows. A little more then half the episodes are procedural and the rest serial but every procedural episode does reveal a little something in the serial plot and or character development.

I loved 24, and when it was "on" it was much better than POI. But as the seasons went on, there were definitely down episodes. POI hasn't had a "down" episode, from my perspective. 24 also had some annoying characters and side plots. Haven't seen any from POI. I like the camaraderie between Finch and Reese more than most of Jack Bauer's teamups. Only Jack and Tony are in the same level.

So..both Person of Interest and Elementary ended with Rolling Stones song this week. I wonder if CBS bought them in bundle to make it cheaper :)

My mind's reeling at this episode.

What. A. Fucking. Show. So damned good. Glued to the screen for that whole ending. I honestly thought that they would just arrest Reese and he'd be standing there hands behind his head, smiling at Donnelly and he'd do his whisper-rasp "Hello, Agent Donnelly". That would have been awesome, hahahaha. But then the three other dudes in the suit were there, I burst out into a grin. Great fucking way to finish the episode. Now Reese is in FBI custody, where do we go from here? As some have mentioned, seems very probable that the CIA are coming back. It's not quite as urgent as last season's finale, but this is pretty awesome nonetheless. Lot of story-jumping-off points from here.

And Beecher's with HR!? THE FUCK, MAN. Or is he clean and HR wants to put their hooks into him? Simmons is such a slimy rat. I hope Fusco figures out Quinn is the head of HR.

Man, this episode had so many great continuity nods. The black out building, season one's finale with Root, the Russian crime boss' son, Snow, Root. And Harold and John washing the dog was hilarious.

Seriously, I'm so amped at the ending. I wanna watch the next episode now! I wonder how Harold, Fusco, and Carter plan to break him out.

Oh man, Finch has to get a motorcycle now.

God, Reese and Finch tapping Carter's phone is just hilarious. Also, Fusco showing serious tech chops! Picking up skill from Finch, force pairing Beecher's phone.

I'm really interested in seeing Donnelly and Reese finally have a face-to-face conversation.

I like it better than 24. Reese on a bad day would more than give Jack on his best day a run for his money. Plus, it's a ton more fun than 24 was for me. This is like... the perfect blend of procedural and serial I've seen in the last few years. There is a continuing storyline with many strands, but it's handled so well and woven in and out of the procedural. There's a bunch of recurring characters and antagonists, it's great stuff.

Also the way they have introduced most of the characters recurring or otherwise has been extremely well done.

Thanks guys. I just needed to know if it was close to 24...really encouraging that it may be even better! It's on my que now. So encouraging there was not comparison to revolution. Also, its has the lady from karate kid! I once had a crush on her lol

Favorite show on tv, even above stuff like Game of Thrones.
Loved 24 but like this much more. It basically cuts the near misses and convoluted twists that dragged on some of the weaker 24 seasons.

Lol, could you guys imagine if Root was the one to break John out of jail?

It'd probably be humorous. I will make the prediction that this plot twist will bring Zoe back into the mix.

I know I'm crazy and this would never happen but if there was ever a show for President Obama to make a special guest appearance in, this is it.

They even hinted on him being president in an episode during the first season.

I know, not in a million years; especially not when he is actually president of the united states but, you know...it's possible...

Imagine if Obama was the POI-of the week! And they had to rescue him without him even knowing he was the target. And it wouldn't be a terrorist hunting him down, it'd be someone with a personal grudge.

I actually think it'd be more fun if Biden made an appearance. He was pretty funny on Parks & Rec. I could see him being a curmudgeonly badass with a heart of gold.

What makes this scenario depressing is that I have already thought of this...many times.

Man, I hope Reese doesn't get caught. I hope Finch does something at the scene so he could immediately escape.

Doubt it.
This is part 1 of a four episode arc. So this storyline will continue for the three episodes that air when we get back from the break. Part 1 of 4 or the starting of a three part arc.

In any case, three episodes involving this story.

I see. I'm sure it will still be good.

Though I'd say that some of the POI's this week were less interesting to me (shooter that killed his GF's husband, and the POI from last episode). I think some POI's are given less character development or elaboration than the POI's from last season.

I see where you're coming from, but I think the trade-off might be stronger character and plot arcs for our primary protagonists when it comes time for that (like the current capture storyline or the recover Finch story). This hasn't bugged me too much, I've found most of the POIs pretty good.

Oh now that's interesting, usually the standard is
2 parts and they rush it, glad they aren't doing that here
. Cannot wait!

Yeah, I wonder how the show will manage a 4 parter. Though, I guess the season opened with the last 2 parts of a 3 parter. (Intro of Root/Cliffhanger, Season 2 opener and then Finch and Reese reunited.)

I'm sure it'll be awesome. My bet is that Finch will be trying to get Reese out while Carter helps and Fusco takes care of the POIs, also with Carter's help.

Midseason finale spoiler:

My friend is insisting that the feds have seen Reese before and should have recognized him. I honestly can't remember if he's right or not, but it seems like way too obvious an error to have slipped by the writers.

What say you?

I recall an episode in Season 1 where Donnelly got his hands on a security camera photo of Reese. It's kind of blurry, but to me it looked exactly like him. I'll have to find out what episode that is in, see if I can get a screencap or something.

Nope
They've seen a very blurry pic of him, nowhere near enough to make indentification

Why doesn't Fusco just ask Reese for help? It was Reese that got him mixed up with HR business in the first place. It's really bothering me since it looks like it's going to be a pretty long arc this season.

I think Fusco thinks that either Reese is just using him and wouldn't give a shit (which obviously isn't the truth) or he simply wants to clean up this mess himself (since joining with Reese, he's grown a better moral compass and is far more responsible).

Plus, I think he might be afraid if he goes to Reese and if there's blowback, his kid or his career.

But on the positive side, I think this situation will bring Fusco and Reese/Finch closer together.

I was never really attracted to Carter until this moment, probably cause she just wore cop clothes.

But fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, I would drop to my knees in front of her.

I marathoned this series in the last week.

Awesome awesome show! Love all the characters in it and they are so genuine. Especially love the character growth and how the team grows more and more every week! A rich collection of characters!

Reece's character has grown so much as well, he's not so cold now and shows a lot of warmth especially when Finch was taken by Root.

Oh and the babes...THE BABES! All so hot! Like an army of lovely brunettes!
