i actually like having to figure out ways to dogpile on anubis.

hitting weaknesses of foes to toss the baton to yusuke and inflict massive damage with one of goemon's severe+baton toss moves is fun

Fuck that floating dog and his AOE. I wasted so much healing cause of him.
He was annoying but not so bad. Just use cat as the background healer after the round and you can get away with it. I just tried to status them and beat them down with technicals. Swift Strike is kind of busted.

In case you're thinking of farming money with the confusion method, I translated a JP list of all the requests where the boss is confuseable and added a couple of tips in a video.

Image list here: http://i.imgur.com/Q7w6X0j.png

Some comments on the list (spoiler just in case, it contains spoilers of some memento bosses)
1) One of the names is from the Japanese list and google translated because I don't have that quest
2) Mishima will often send you a text message the day after you increase his confidant rank. If you don't read the message and wait too many days, the message will be deleted and you will miss the request
3) The list is ordered from the one you can unlock first to the one you can unlock last
4) To start the Fortune confidant, you need 100k money
5) In ”Daughter's Just a Meal Ticket", there are two bosses and both can be confused but the father only gives 1 yen, so kill him and only keep the mother confused
6) Money thrown is affected both by your Luck and the difficulty of the boss. The boss at the end of the list is the one that will give you the highest amount of money. I was getting 110k with 62 in Luck. Although unnecessary, you would get close to 200k with 99 in Luck
7) I will keep making videos (probably), just tell me if you have anything you would like me to do. For example, I did this video and list because I noticed that many people were looking for such a thing or didn't understand why their Pulinpa kept missing the boss

Sometimes you just have to brute force your way through. And not really, palace 3 wasn't that difficult. There's an annoying enemy in palace 4 though.

I immediately chose escape everytime lol
Not worth the time and hassle

If you have an Isis you will be completely immune to all of his attacks and you can pretty much win all fights even if you are the only surviving party member.

So yes either get yourself an Isis through hold up or fuse one.

Yeah, I had Isis equipped so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Question about the end of the sixth dungeon

So how does it work? It seems like this takes place in the real world with people reacting to it, but I'm still in a palace. Is this the courthouse? Where do all the cops come from? Are they all just hanging outside the courthouse? If I'm in the real world at this point then why am I still in costume?

I had one, it was just still not worth wasting the time and SP to heal my dead teammates. =/

Sooo question here :

Do i start the game on Hard or Merciless ? I'm not sure i like that x3 critical damage, look like a double knife edge, can make thing harder or easier then they really are, Or hard is enough challenging for a experienced player in SMT ?

Thank you !

It's the metaverse still. Goro got them into the metaverse.

Hard if you like being frustrated sometimes for bullshit deaths.
Normal if you like a bit of a challenge (still harder than most JRPGs)

Not looking forward to new game plus if levels are reset because the last area to grind for levels isn't that fast of an exploit.

Do you use the Mementos trick for leveling? It's the fastest way.

Yusuke with the follow up and hope morgana lucky punch is lucky. It was annoying but I got a demon immune to light and dark so I could at least know I wouldn't be getting a game over screen anytime soon.

Well I got my ending (mega spoils, obvs)

Went for the bad ending ASAP. I wanted to max my attributes so I could actually do the Confidants next go around. Now I can play the game without the attributes holding over my head and actually letting me hang out with my friends dammit.

Random critical happen a lot so unless you want to deal with that merciless wont offer more real challenge than hard other than stupid rng fiesta.

The biggest improvement about P5 so far are the interactions between the leads. P4 was great but it's very cliche anime tropes. For P5, I like how certain interactions don't go the way I predicted. It seems the writers made certain dialogue and reactions much more mature or unexpected. It keeps things fresh. Also shows growth with the writing overall.

I'm on 7th dungeon on hard right now.

The game starts off a lot more challenging than normal persona games, but it kinda evens out as long as your thinking ahead with persona fusions and choosing how to spend your time well.

Merciless doesn't sound fun for a first run, since you'll just immediately die a lot of the time. (You won't know weakness and strengths of enemies in each area)

You're questions will be answered if you continue the story, they will discuss it at some point. I'd recommend pushing with the story instead of reading the explanation below In case you missed it, here is a spoilered explanation:

The humans we see in the casino are cognitive people. The cognitive humans in animated cut scenes resemble real humans as it is not stylized like in the game. The police that arrest you are real police taken into the cognitive world by akechi using his metaverse nav app. The arrest takes place in the cognitive world, this is why you are still in costume.

finished the 3rd palace. i had a few cheap deaths but overall it was pretty damn fun. unlocked new stuff in the velvet room and had some fun with fusions.

this is one of those games you can play all day with a few breaks in between. i can't detect any boredom so far.

This is one of the reasons why Yusuke is so clutch in my party.

I hit an enemy's weakness, do the Baton Pass to Yusuke for a boosted Rising Slash which basically does 400-500 points of physical damage. It's ridiculous.

Made short work of all the
]Anubis/Isis
enemies in palace 4. I felt physical skills paid off for that entire dungeon, basically.

Jesus fucking CHRIST is PSN awful or what? I get cockblocked while playing the game because I have gone past the amount of data the game has downloaded. Have to stop for the night and the download says 9 hours to download 12 GB (ridiculous in and of itself but I'm going to bed so whatever).

Start my day 10 hours later and see that I have 17 hours left on the download. With 4 GB left! I am so sick of this horrific download situation. It's literally 10 times slower than Steam downloads on the PC that my PS4 is right next to, and half the time the downloads fall into this abyss of slowness where you have to sit there pausing and resuming until they creep up to a somewhat acceptable 1998 speed rather than a 1986 one.

Jesus....

i remember this fight being fucking hard as balls in japanese when i couldn't understand what half my moves did. let's see how it plays out in english

Is it better to build makoto for physical or magic. Every other party member has a clear direction of build to go for but iffy on makoto. This is for new game plus btw.

Also didn't spend any of the special recovery items because of jrpg trope of saving it no matter what.

I mean outside of the AoE physical attack she starts with, she doesn't seem to get any more physical skills. If she does it's so late in the game that it's not even worth thinking about.

I would just like to voice out how much I appreciate Yusuke. I don't think I have encountered this character archetype before. I find his comedic shtick really funny. Didn't think I'd like him from the trailers.

Just finished dungeon #4. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.
Loved everything about it. I read some complaints about it being too long. It ended up being shorter than 2 and 3 for me since I think I was a bit overleveled for it. Aside from the boss, it was a cakewalk.

Futaba
's story really resonated with me. P5 isn't afraid to go to dark places. It was a very touching and intimate micro-story and unlike some other delicate subject matters presented in this game, it was handled really well.

Almost 60 hours in, I've accepted the fact that this game just will not top Persona 3 and 4 for me because of a handful of frustrating issues but it's still a very special game.

The boss of the second palace can go fuck himself.
So many frustrating mechanics in 1 fight. What a garbage tier boss fight.

P5 improved a lot of things over P4, but something they didn't really address was how romancing a character affects events and dialogue outside of specific romance scenes.

On one end, I like that there's not too much emphasis put towards this, as a player could feel they were left out if they didn't romance anyone, and it'd probably become really complicated to design, depending on how many people you romance, dialogue choices, etc. But, on the other, it always feels like this secret relationship that can't be mentioned to anyone else, and doesn't make sense with certain story-important interactions.

It'd probably be really hard to improve upon this, but it's one aspect of the game which clearly has room for it.

Same as you.

I think Tales of Xillia 2 of all games had a very good way to do it. All characters have some kind of "S Link" to them which make you understand them more. It's some kind of side story, like, for exemple, the reporter searching a certain scoop.

So sometime, during the main adventure, as all you characters members say something like "ok, we should go there", the game will suddenly add a line of dialog from that reporter which would say "yeah ! And that way i may find something for my scoop !". The game makes it very obvious it's an added dialog because you did a S Link with her and i found that to be a great way to "reward" additional relationship with party members without completly rewrite dialog based on what person you date or not.
