Anybody else notice he actually seems to get busted in the OP? I think MC is the Phantom prior to the game starting. He gets busted, sent to the new school, whatever event Hashino teased happens, and then he gets his Persona.

He's already guilty of something and that's why the Velvet room is a cell.

I took the opening to be the protagonist first night after gaining his persona and inside the casino is when he'll be introduced to the way he fight's shadows. Similar to how P3 and P4 both introduced the Dark hour and Midnight Channel that scene will be the first exposure the P5 protagonist has to how he'll be fighting shadows.

I told you on Twitter, but I genuinely think Crispin Freeman has serious potential. He's shown he has a taste for the theatrical. He can be charismatic and smooth, but also very contained and down to earth. I love him as Kyon in the Haruhi Suzumiya anime. I think the tone and composure of that character could be a great fit for someone dissatisfied with their social standing.

He might sound a bit too old, but it's voice acting; I don't know how good/bad he'd be at aging down his voice a bit. That's my only concern though. I think he's pitebtially a fantastic pic for what I'm admittedly guessing is the MC.

If I knew more dub VAs this would be a million times easier, but I pondered Lucian Dodge (Waver Velvet,Fate/Zero) for a bit, but it's been a while. I also dunno if he can do flamboyant. He also doesn't do games a lot it looks like?

I also wholeheartedly agree with the crisp in freeman bit, but yeah he's a bit old sounding.

I mentioned in the chat that I had looked up Kirk Thornton for Ryuji because of his Klein from SAO voice, but then I realized he was Morroka already, though at least the likelihood of Morroka popping up in a crossover game is 0.

I'm definitely feeling him myself. Like you mentioned, Crispin can pull off the milder, quiet voice in addition to the suave, charismatic and flamboyant voice that the Phantom requires.

Crispin would be an awesome choice, he's great in everything I've heard him in.

Outside of that though, one thing I think is exciting is that there seem to be a lot of new and talented dub actors in both games and anime. So I'd be happy if someone relatively new like Kaiji Tang got a chance to put in a good performance.

I have a lot of faith in the directors that work with Atlus USA, so I bet we'll get a good performance no matter who is in the role.

Part of the reason why I don't like P3MC is because there's a history dump midway through the game about his childhood and his powers. Why create a blank slate only to draw on it afterwards?

P4MC was a departure from that in that he was a complete blank slate and that was totally appreciated. P5MC clearly isn't a blank slate and having a voice would only make sense.

P4 character came from the city though. I didn't. I couldn't relate to him! Lol

Blank slate characters are really starting to seem lazy to me. I know I'm not that character. I don't want to be that character. I want to join them on the adventure.

Thornton is a good idea. They wouldn't not cast him because he was Morroka, either.

Chris Tergliafera or Edward Bosco. Both are awesome up-and-comers who I'm eager to hear more of, and whoever doesn't play the MC could probably play Ryuji pretty darn well.

i have like a full potential english cast for the p5 characters minus the Phantom Thief himself... Bosch is a great choice , but he is Narukami already.

And that last time i say about Crispin Freeman returning to a Atlus game somebody say something about the union / non union shit if i recall correctly, but that guy have a great voice.

Besides those two i cant think in anyone for the MC , for the others caracthers i have some favorites of wishful choices for example.
For Morgana (if she is a female cat) the girl / woman who voiced Taokaka in Blazblue got nailed the cat puns a while ago....

True, I never figured David in The Last of Us was Nolan North. It's unlike anything he'd ever done. He's got a great range. Which is why we might be surprised by some of the voice actors. The thing is they're often cast in similar roles, so they do similar voices. But when they get a very different role, some can take up the challenge and surprise everyone. See Joel from The Last of Us and the Joker from Batman for Troy Baker.

I think Kira Buckland or Sarah Williams would do well. They have the range and acting ability to portray a character like that without her sounding annoying or overbearing.

Cut ins are seperate from AoA attacks in previous games. It would presumably apply to P5 also.

I was thinking about Brad Swaile because of his dual roles when playing Light. Might fit good. Although, I think it depends on how quiet/reserved P5MC is when not cat burgling.
