Volcano High Alumnus (Cum Laude)
Off topic but I just finished 999. It was really great, but I can't believe the last puzzle was
a fucking sudoku
.

You might want to spoiler-tag that.

I feel like a (999 spoilers)
sudoku was perfect for a final puzzle in the Nonary Game. Nine numbers, nine squares, nine rows, nine columns.

Thought it was fine as it's not a plot point, but fair comment, especially as this is an unrelated thread.

I'm probably going to get into VLR tomorrow, just need to check out room 3 in 999 first, it's the only one I didn't get in any playthrough.

So EightyFourX apparently made this discovery in regards to some Persona artwork. Basically, he claims that certain pieces of artwork have art assets that were reused in in some of the Ultimax artwork.

Of course, I immediately called him a fucking liar and went back to playing Fire Emblem: Fates, but it nagged at me, so I decided to hear him out.

You're probably thinking, "what similarities? You really should really go back to playing Fire Emblem, dummy!" and you're absolutely right, but if you take a closer look...

Do you see it now? Pay close attention to the arrangement of her hair and ear. They're quite similar aren't they?! And you can even see it with her face as well! The Ultimax portrait (while seemingly different) largely uses the same base as the previous drawing. Just shifted in a few areas.

"But PK! you insist, what if Soejima is just really consistent!?" Trust me, nobody is that consistent. Even Soejima's drawings within the same time period aren't that consistent. There is a pretty blatant case of art reuse here.

Still don't believe me?

CeH62BsWIAAJhoM.jpg

This is an image of both images superimposed.

Fuuka: *GASP*, the images...

But wait, there's more!

If you still after all this time don't believe me, the same exact thing happened with Margaret.

Exhibit B

Now the first drawing is clearly rougher than the second, but like before, pay close attention to her hair.

In this case, there's a bigger difference between these 2 images than before, but there's still a very apparent similarity. So in short:

Rise's versus portrait and Margaret's official art are noticeably similar to that of their respective P4 Anime DVD box artwork, but touched up in a few key areas.

NOW KEEP IN MIND, i'm not trying to call Soejima out or discredit him. There are many (he was rushed) reasons for why he (he was rushed) probably did this (he was clearly rushed), but it's still an intriguing find nonetheless!

But most of important of all, I need to get back to playing Fire Emblem.

After pouring over the Persona 5 trailers, I have discovered critical new information.

The woman interrogating the MC wears pants.

holding off on buying a N3DS XL in hope that an SM4F branded one makes its way stateside, even though there's very little likelihood of that happening (considering, to my knowledge, one wasn't even created for Japan.) I'm a fool :c

Soejima did this for Arena as well. Some of the portraits for Aigis, Mitsuru and Akihiko are modified from their P3P cut-ins.

Yeah but I feel those are a bit more obvious since the "next challenger" screen is mostly all reused AoA portraits when available.

Persona 5 is releasing in October 2016 for NA.

Persona 3 & Persona 4 HD Complete Edition will release in August.

That's what I'm calling that will be announced at E3.

Persona 3 and Persona 4 HD will ease people into the series who haven't played Persona before and will satisfy diehard fans.

Persona 5 will do that just fine

I don't want people buying Persona 5 blindly then getting mad when they find out it's not what they thought it was. "Ugghhhh... this is a game about waifus and other stuff I hate! I thought I bought a JRPG about stealing stuff!" I already bet the mainstream
clowns
who buy anything for PS4 will say this stuff when they buy Persona 5.

The only problem with doing Persona 3 and Persona 4 HD is that since they are timeless classics... people will demand for a port for those games for literally every Playstation release. Lol "Playstation 5 is coming? Please port Persona 3 and Persona 4 HD as a launch release, Atlus!!!" Hahah

I think the most you can hope for is a PS2>PS4 port, absolutely no chance of a HD remaster. And less than no chance of anything Atlus being announced at E3, they're a small(ish) japanese company, they couldnt care less about E3.

PS3 had Persona 4 downloadable as a PS2 classic and that's about all I expect the PS4 to get.

An HD remake is made obsolete by Golden and Persona 3 has already been remade twice.

P3 still has room to be improved on, but that's seeming less and less likely.

Besides, I've got more faith in 4F being at E3 in any real capacity than P5.

Final should be announced and localized before E3 ideally. Ideally...

That'd be nice, but I doubt it. Maybe they're capable of localizing that fast, but holding till E3 for promotion reasons? Who knows. :/

Logically, an HD remake of Persona 4 would just be Golden running at 1080p.

The real problem with an HD remaster would be Persona 3 tho. The game would need significant touch-ups, as it's animation cutscenes are ass, tons of assists from Persona 3 Portable would be unusable, the models and enviroments would need improved upon slightly, and there are numerous things they need to fix for a widescreen format.

I think BC will be a thing for future consoles.

As Tweeted here, Animate's been pretty consistent about tweeting—through multiple of their official accounts—for people to pre-order Persona 5 for a bit now.

They hadn't been talking about pre-orders before; guess they've opened them up recently.

This is a lot more reassuring that all the 2015 talk last year.

Next week will be the rebroadcast for the final P4GA episode, after episode 11 aired today. Actually did think it had some meaning before, but now... Though the P3M x Walkman collab. was announced during one of the reruns.

So P4A and P4GA were announced for Netflix Japan, so guess that's something.
