Actually the series ends with pretty white girl riding off on a boat into the sunset and pretty white boi riding off into the sunset north of the wall.
I get that the cast and crew worked really hard to give us what we got in that final season and, honestly, there was some great stuff. The reason it didn't work was entirely on the showrunners rushing to get it over with.
