Phantasy Star Online 2 Import |OT2| Item Names in English!

While the game is going under maintenance, I got some questions about the new bingo card. So if any one could answer that would be great.

1. E-1 Top right spot, what do I need to do?
2. There are 2 spots that says obtain 'name here' matter board. Which ones are they? I have only unlocked Episode 1 boards up to the 6th one.

While we are at this, what the fastest way to level up (to 40) right now. I'm trying to get my Braver to 40 (26 atm).

Falz/Beach Wars on the block for your difficulty level. Get some +50%/+75% EXP boosts and search for multiparties.

Did you finish the CO to break the level 30 limit? (10 drops from natives of each of the three planets, the new one excluded.)
 
Yeah, no way is this PSO2 manager anywhere near close as bad as PlayOnline. Not even in the slightest shred, and I've played FFXI at least
200 days
worth of in-game time.

"Occasional" errors is not how I'd describe my Sega patch manager experience at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure, for a while there, the launcher would forget where I was in patching and re-download everything, even if I just spent the last 3-4 hours downloading... I got constant disconnection errors, and there's no retry button. It has to check files EVERY.SINGLE.TIME after disconnecting, too, which takes -forever- because unlike POLs file check, it cross-references with the server, and it never seemed to remember what files it had and what it didn't. I had times where I'd get booted from file check! It was rage-inducing. It shouldn't take me 3 days to patch your game -_-;.

I -never- had issues with POL's patching, except on Patch Day themselves. Even then, POL actually gave me some sort of decent progress meter telling me how many files I needed/had already, and because it updated file-by-file, if your connection dropped (as mine tends to do when downloading large files), you could just...retry that file and all was well.

...That's my rant. XD. I'm probably just unlucky, but damn, I was so happy when the game finally finished patching last night. Only to log in and see they had just started the maintenance X.X

My hunter is already level 50. I just want to grind through the bingo card fast or I won't be able to finish all of it since I'm playing casually most of the time. More so when I start playing FF14: ARR in 2-3 weeks.

Is this emergency trial occur only in a specific quest or planet?
 
Blaaagh. I can't get past the tutorial =/

Once I get past a certain point it tells me to clear out the darkers buuuut, it looks like it stops for a cutscene. Instead of playing anything the screen just goes black and I'm stuck.

Chances are there's an issue with the patch data that is causing a lockup here. You may have to proceed without the patch to get past this point.

Thanks, is there an easy way to remove the patch? Because that's pretty much what I thought but so far the only way I know how to do that is to just have the tweaker basically reinstall everything to vanilla, which I've been in the process of for a few minutes now and... holy hell does that take a while.

I'm going to assume it's probably the story patch, and not the other two patches, so I'm tempted to at least install those so I'm not totally lost.

I'm not familiar with how the tweaker works but the official patcher has a file recheck option if you didn't back up anything before applying patches.
 
Like a whole different game with dat item patch. I don't have to bother having a phone/tablet next to me when I play so much and I can just take the game in. Actually going to bother with weapon and attribute grinding now.

Agreed. I'm thinking I might even make an 'ATTENTION' thread to let people know, this completely changes the game for me, now that I can understand what the drops are, my loot whore nerves are firing. :)

I totally fell in love with this game the past couple weeks. Was playing it a ton. Recently went to China on a trip so I had to move the games files onto an external so I could play on my laptop and ran into a bunch of problems. Doing a clean install of this game sucks even with the PSO2 Tweaker (though it is actually possible). Can't stop thinking about playing, I was having such a blast.
 
First off, FUCK YOU SEGA! I played the shit out of every Phantasy Star in existance with the exception of Universe and I loved PSO. I attempted to play PSO2 when it first came out with the english patches but they were far from what they are today and stopped. So I got hyped when Sega said PSO2 was coming stateside........... which apparently now isn't happening.

So looks like I'm going to have to get back on the JP PSO2 train.

Going after the Agito, it took me a good long while to figure out the best place to find Blundarls in the hope of getting Bal Blundarl. But now, I've got it (Subdue Org Blan Area 2 seems to be the ticket, fought like 50 of the things) so I can get to the business of actually hunting it.

I ran advance quest for mine. I only got the one that needs vayu pyroxene (basically the easiest one to get) but the other ones in the shiny stone shop only have 10-20 t attack difference and even at max grind level its not that huge that I think I would be losing sleep over it. It's just a step so I can farm extreme quests then get their weapons.

My wep has 824 t-attack at +8, sadly I spent 600k and about 2000 FUN points to get grind risk reductions (I didn't get any chance increase in FUN, did they remove it?), and ended up at +8 after all that work because I had no more grind reduction left. I hate Dudu and whats-her-face. Good news is I ran into a mesetran and got around 450k back.
 
Alright so I redid the installation.
Got the JP client downloaded and running ok.
What I don't understand is why PSO2 Tweaker is making this huge download. Is the english patch really that massive?
EDIT: Oh Lord. The Story patch is 1.8 gig...WTF?

EDIT x2: Okay I think I just had the wrong folder selected.

PSO2 Tweaker doesn't seem to work. Use the official launcher to configure resolution, then launch the game via the tweaker.

Continuing onto this: It's definitely not Maintenance but for some reason I still receive Error 249 everytime I try to log in. Been at this for a couple hours now with no success and I've tried everything that I can do from my computer that I can think of. Unfortunate but I guess I'll try again tomorrow. If anyone can provide any kind of insight please let me know.

I just guessed from your error output that either a settings file doesn't exist or doesn't have all settings populated in it prior to having them saved by the official launcher. Either way, the Tweaker seems to need a setting to be there in order to change it.
 
Wish there was a way to hide the mag, or hide emblems.

Hmm, I have enough of those capsule thingies and I tried it out yesterday with a friend so I'll have to look into that. Thanks. I actually have like 10 star units now since I did 2 separate Big Vardha EQs over and over and got ton after all the spamming. I just need to get a ten star weapon now.
 
I apologise if someone on Team GAF sees me online and I don't respond. That's because I just discovered Splashtop and I've been playing PSO2 in bed with my 360 controller, my keyboard doesnt reach. OMG it's amazing....

I think it's time for you to invest on a wireless keyboard, I got a Logitech wireless KB/M combo precisely for situations like that. Although even then I often feel too lazy to reach it with my arm to chat, LOL.

I know that feeling. I just got a 42-inch tv and spent about 10+ hours on Saturday playing this in bed. Had to dig up my spare wireless kb just for this game.
 
Holy shit, I love this game way too much after just an hour of playing. PHANTASY STAR IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG

Considering remaking my character though because I don't actually like the way he looks.

Spend some time in Este, you can make quite a few changes without hitting the paywall.
