So, I think I'm going with the Panasonic 50' Plasma TC-P50S60.
Is this a good choice for PS4?

Yeah any Sony TV below the 900a has these and it doesnt matter the source.I notice black lines, like scan lines. Is that what you mean?
Are you talking about the w802a?

For anyone buying a TV, do you grab the extended warranty offered? I know these are seen as a way to just get more money from customers but if your 90lb (60") TV does break, how does the 1 year warranty work. Do they cover the cost of a local person or do you have to pay the cost to ship a 90lb TV?
I'm wondering b/c I'm thinking of getting one of the Panasonics and I'm curious how it will work with them getting out of the business.
Was planning on 55inch series 7 samsung, but im hearing they have worse input lag and that though the colours are vibrant, they "look fake" whatever that meansWhy? Even on a Sony set, you have to turn off all those features to bring down the input lag.
Plasmas generally have more input lag.
What Samsung model and size where you getting?

Ah, I stand corrected. My bad.Wrong! Plasmas have less input lag 99% of the time.
I have 27 more hours until break in is over on my VT60 and I can put in D-Nice's settings.

Exact TV I have with my PS4. It's stunning. Just make sure you can control light in the room you place it in. It doesn't perform well in bright rooms. Otherwise, gorgeous black levels, colour representation and overall screen performance. Super price/performance set, and going out of production so it won't be around much longer. I look forward to firing up the PS4 every time, knowing that my TV isn't a bottleneck to the image I'm viewing, it works to enhance it instead.
VT60 price drop again on Amazon.
$2149 - 65"
$1749 - 60"
$1499 - 55"
60" VT60 was $2299 less than 2 weeks ago
Except with input lagAny of the newer Panasonic Plasma's are great choices tbh. Though if you can afford the extra for the ST60, go for that instead. It's a superior set in every way.

For comparison sake, do u or anyone else know how much input lag the 2009 32inch panasonic vieras are as thats what ive been gaming on for the passed few years and dont really notice any lagI picked up that TV this weekend. I'm gaming on it just fine. It has 39ms of input lag, which is not bad. Make sure to turn on Game Mode on too.

This is why I was asking about the Panasonic warranty. Has anyone dealt with their warranty. I really don't want to get an extended :

Perhaps I'm a plasma sinner but I didn't do any sort of break in on my set. Just used the tv as well a tv for a couple weeks and then popped in a manual setting I found in the internet.
Things to consider for anyone still on the fence -
1080p plasmas need to be fairly sizable because of the minimum pixel size , viewing distance is a huge consideration for this because the extra colors you get versus an LCD are achieved through dithering, dithering disappears if you sit an appropriate distance away from the TV , even 5.5 feet from my 55 inch is good enough.
I haven't measured input lag but it feels better than my previous TV so that's about all I care about.
The biggest concern anyone seems to have is about image retention and burn in which are 2 different things. The last few years burn in only shows up if you leave an image stuck on the tv for 12+ hours , the screens CAN still get it but that's an awful extreme scenario. I know I do NOT have any burn in after a full year of use.
Image retention on my set occurs within the first few minutes of powering it on and is usually gone another few minutes later. For example, loading up a bluray player the menu may stick on solid colors for a couple minutes and then go away. It effects areas of high contrast , so a white box with a black background might stick around for a minute or 2 but a grey box with a black background might only last a few seconds. As soon as the TV is displaying something with plenty of motion you won't even notice it at all.
Oddly, I really haven't experienced any complications with gaming though.
The TV I own that I base all this on is the panasonic ST50 55.

Is this a cyber Monday thing?
Wrong! Plasmas have less input lag 99% of the time.
I don't think I can keep this UN55FH6003F.
No outputs, and I am not happy with the picture at all.
Except this year, Panasonic has terrible lag compared to most of the LEDs.
This is one of the main reasons I'm holding off of a Panasonic. If only they didn't get out of the plasma business & next year they could have released less laggier sets.
What don't you like about it? Did you get it calibrated?

Can a fellow VT60 owner tell me how the hell I am suppose to disable the speakers?
Are you running it to a sound bar / speakers?
Yes, optical cable from TV to a Bose solo
Why are you guys waiting to enter the d-nice settings? I mean if you're not doing manual calibration what does it matter if you do it now or later?
I hope this doesn't sound mean but you're sure you're in optical out and not optical in?
Might have high contrast on it. Break in asks for low settings all around to be used.

Same page as you, appreciate any good settings that are available. So, I think I'm going with the Panasonic 50' Plasma TC-P50S60.

Audio Out. I don't even see an Optical Audio in on the back of the set.
Audio plays through the Solo just fine, but I have to mute the TV everytime I turn it on. On my ST30 there was a simple menu feature to disable the speakers, can't find it on the VT60 but the menu is a lot different.

Hmm weird, it shouldn't play from both places, but now that I think about it I never set up my Panasonic to have audio out as I don't really watch TV. My dads TV has audio out to a sound bar and it works fine and has no issues w/ the TV...

I know it says ST60 but it was linked to the VT from someone else.

How is the VT60 laggy?
I bought one earlier last week. It's a great gaming tv with very minimal input lag. There are some D-Nice settings out there, but I haven't applied them yet.Same page as you, appreciate any good settings that are available.
