Oh man, there is a new S60 that is 66 miles away from me. So tempting.
It's your last chance if you want a Panasonic plasma. You might want to get on that.

I bought an S60! Yay!
What should i use for HDMi switching? it only has 2x ports
And does anyone know a good calibration for the S60?
lol, are they holding the accessories ransom with the protection plan? That's great.$1,270 SONY W900A Best buy display model...
buy it? Help me GAF!
Edit: with stand, 4 glasses, remote, and geek squad for 5 years would be $270ish more....
Grand total with Geek Squad would be ~$1700 after tax

Either way, if the TV is in perfect shape, thats not bad
A bump to maybe catch a few more feedback thoughts...
$1270 plus 270 geek squad 5 year warranty plus it has the stand, remotes, 4 glasses. Grand Total should be $1,700.
What say you!?
How's the 3D on the W900A? I read cnets review, but I wonder how anyone on GAFs experience has been?
See if the TV would be eligible for Squaretrade warranty instead.
Then just buy it, forget the glasses. You can get them cheaper elsewhere.
I bought a S64 65" plasma this year mostly because Panasonic discontinued them, but the W900 is the TV I really wanted.

Is this Sony TV any good?
I don't want to go over that price but also don't want a piece of crap.![]()
I saw this tonight and it looked really nice. Very deep blacks (for an LCD display.) I'm thinking of getting it as well, but it's not available at Best Buy just yet.

The 850 is basically a 900 with a 120hz panel (480 motionflow) instead of a 240hz (960 motionflow), and slightly worse blacks IIRC.Was looking at getting a sony 65" W850A to replace my 8000 series 55" samsung. Anyone here have impressions on this set? Also looking at samsungs high end plasmas but it runs about 3000$ for the 65". It will be used Mostly for movies and gaming. I could care less how it performs for broadcast tv.
Just picked up a floor model w900a from best buy for $1100. I'd been stalking it for two days and couldn't find a damn single flaw other than it was missing the 3d glasses.
Been tinkering with the recommended settings from cnet and om absolutely in love with this thing.
Plus, since the tv was $1100, I only paid $125 for an extended warranty.
My god I am a happy fellow right now.
You beat me by 100ish bucks on the TV which means you beat my on the warranty too... But I really don't care lol. The set is really nice!
Where'd you get it that cheapWell I could not wait for the 2014 models
So Bye bye Pioneer 5020fd, allo Sony KDL55W900A got it for 1399$ CAD could not resist.

I've heard this mentioned a few times but no specifics. What are the differences? This was for the best. The W900A is a bit better than the 2014 equivalent.

So I have my PC desk in the same room as my TV. Computer has speakers plugged in via the normal 1/8" jack in the back and plugged into the monitor via the DVI port on the graphics card. I also have my TV plugged into the same graphics card (I say same because I have two GTX760s) via the HDMI port. And since I plugged everything in today I've had nothing but problems. Using Windows 8.1 BTW.
I want to pretty much always have this set up as extended screen so I can watch netflix and such on the TV while working on my PC/Monitor. On occasion I want it to just be the TV that's on for when I want to play video games on my couch. Here are my problems.
1. Sound always outputs to the PC speakers and not the TV. I want to be able to switch from PC to TV speakers on the fly even when I'm using the desktop on my monitor. It's just weird watching netflix on a TV across the room and having the not so great quality PC speakers right in front of me blast the sound. Is this possible?
2. I started out using the PC connected to the TV exclusively. I only just got a monitor a couple days ago. If I start the computer with the TV turned off but the screen project setting set to extend it always defaults the desktop to the TV instead of the monitor. I want it the other way around. I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the monitor the de facto main monitor. I can make the monitor the main desktop screen by enabling "second screen only" or by changing it in my screen resolution settings to "make this my main screen" but it just reverts back any time a monitor goes to sleep or I change anything.
2.A When the screen goes to sleep when I'm in this configuration I need to restart my computer to get the screens to wake. Neither the TV or the monitor will wake up when I go to do so.
Lastly, I wonder since I'm using two displays does it tax my graphics cards more than usual? Even if I'm not doing anything on the second display or if it's turned off?
1, on Win7 I can right-click on the volume icon in the lower right corner of taskbar and it brings up playback devices where you can chose default audio device.
2, right clicking background and selecting screen resolution gives menu where you can chose default monitor.
Not sure if Win8 menus are the same tho

KDL55W900AThat looks lovely. What set is that?
Picked up a P50GT60 near the end of last year but have barely used it since I've been away from home so much since then. I ran it in with slides for the first 300 hours bu haven't done much with it since then. The only thing it's been used for is to put some time into Dark Souls II since it launched. I was running around a misty/foggy area in the game yesterday and noticed that the title logo saying "Dark Souls II" is burnt into my screen along with some HUD elements. Have I fucked up? Running the Disney pixel flipper now in the hope I can fix it. Any tips for how I should treat my TV better? Should I run some other content after each gaming session to prevent this in future?
