Woke up to an Amazon email saying my order had been delayed until the 14th, was not happy. So I skipped work and went to Argos instead hehehe :)

I would pay extra for Amazon to use anyone else but Amazon Logistics, DPD for the original PS4 was great, knew exactly where they were and how far off your delivery was. Who knows when Amazon logistics will deliver it, its been sitting in their carrier facility since 1am and hasn't moved since, knowing previously deliveries I won't get it till 1-2pm if not later.

Probably kicking it around the warehouse at the moment. I'm with you though, Amazon Logistics are pretty damn poor and also feel the need to nearly knock my front door out it's frame every time I get a delivery from them!

Just had mine delivered by DPD from Game. Swapped out the HDDs fine then was going crazy figuring out why the Pro wouldn't recognise my USb stick with the system software on. The USB ports are to recessed into the system so I couldn't get it all the way in, had to use a USB extension cable for it to be recognised.

Couldn't you use the back one?

Hey guys, I seem to be having an issue with my Pro - despite being connected and all just fine, it is showing a Black screen while I can hear the system music playing.. I opened it up into safe mode which displays fine, but changing the resolution from Automatic to any of the other settings doesn't seem to work ?

Guys I put the original HDD back into the old ps4 and have the update on a USB stick with the folders PS4>UPDATE>4.05 I assume and keep getting prompt that its not compatible. Anything thing I could be doing wrong? Trying to have this ready to be sold and its stuck.

Are you going via a PSVR breakout box? Seems that they need to be updated too.

If not then maybe try with another HDMI cable?

From the other thread

Have you downloaded the correct Firmware file there are two types, one for a clean install another for an update.

Full install link is this one

http://dus01.ps4.update.playstation...41cfe2f0dec1bb4663571de78ae31cf/PS4UPDATE.PUP

Also I don't think you need the 4.05 folder if you have done that or just put that there for reference.

From the other thread

No I don't even own the PSVR, and I've tried a different HDMI cable and still no luck, this is really stressing me out since I've been fighting it for the past half an hour! I've had no problems with my base PS4.

Damn it, my new DS4 has a problem:

https://youtu.be/wPG2P0GJJxo

So this only happens on Infamous. Tried it with FIFA, Battlefield, Journey and Resogun and no problems. Maybe the dead zone is really minimal in Infamous? Don't know if I should try to trade the DS4 or not.

Also, I've had an issue with Infamous First Light twice now: launching the game, TV switches to HDR and I got a blank flickering grey screen. And the other time it happened when exiting the game. Seems like there's some sort of signal loss happening, but there's no problem with the setting and I'm using the cable that came with the console. Maybe dust in one of the connectors, I don't know... :/

Have you tried a different HDMI port on the TV? Guessing you don't have another TV to try on?

Looks quite nice in person after not loving it so much in photos. The three tiers looks nice from front on and the matte is great. Transferring my SSHD over was easy enough, even if it felt a bit weird replacing a 1TB with another 1TB. With a USB3 hard drive the transfer was pretty fast, so much so I wish I didn't delete quite so much before doing it but it's easy enough to put discs back in and download a few patches.

The UI is definitely native, you can see a lot of detail even in small thumbnails. Switching back to the OG PS4 seem blurry right away when I was restoring the old 500GB drive. It's always surprising how quickly you get used to stuff. Can't wait to start up Ratchet and Clank later and test out the different modes in the Last of Us.

Oohh, it's finally here. Just about 10 minutes to go on the transfer-thingy from my old PS4 and then I can fire up Battlefield 1. Ooh mama.

When that happens to me I put a pin in the little hole behind the DS4 to reset the controller.

It's usually bluetooth interference.

Nice.

Ratchet is going to be one of my first samplings too when my system comes too.

Hi guys,

Ive read the transfer data thread about your old data on orignial PS4 to PS4 Pro, but my question that I cant seem to find is it "necessary" to transfer your old data to the new PS4 Pro besides game installs, maybe apps, etc? My game saves, are all on the cloud and any game Ive downloaded I dont mind re-downloading again anyway.

Is there any reason that transferring your old data is a "must?" Sorry if its a dumb question beforehand. :)

Found a fix ! Just need to disable HDCP, anyone know what that is exactly ?

https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4Pro/comments/5c0f4q/black_screen_audio_only_fix/

HDCP is a type of copy protection, it stops people recording the signal directly from the HDMI port. I believe movies and some streaming won't work with it off but it has no effect on games. People using something like an Elgato or external recording device have to turn it off.

Edit: I'm not sure what effect switching down to 1.4 has. It might prevent some 4k streaming services but everything else should be like the OG after that

Damn, looks like my delivery will not be today, apparently some delay on the Hermes side. Well, at least PS4Pro should be there before weekend.

I think you cant watch blurays if it is off.

If they're just switching back to 1.4 I assume Blu Ray will still work but some 4k streaming won't. I would assume that 1080p TV owners wouldn't notice a difference. It would be better if it detected the supported version automatically though.

I dont see any reason to do this tbh. I will do it also your way.Prefer those "cleaner" things.Just go and manually deactivate your old PS4.

What game is everyone going to try first?

Pretty sure I'm going to start a new game of Ratchet and Clank while I wait for some installs and patches to come down

I started up Ratchet and Clank while waiting for other games to install. It is absolutely brilliant looking. Pixar movie in real time realized.

BF1 SP plays great, but I haven't really played it before so couldn't compare, waiting for multi to finish, as I am familiar with its resolution and performance.

TF2 and IW are about 20min away from having their playable DL chunks done. Haven't played either of them before, but very much looking forward to them.

Took a break from work to trade in my MGS5 PS4 and collect my Pro...!

Now its just staring at me and Im stuck at work, then home to kids and wife, then restore backup then finally some time to play...

Question, I have a 1080P TV and does the Pro downsample automatically, do I still choose 1080P as resolution or?

That's fine by me, I use the TV's own native apps anyways :)

Thanks for the help !

Kind of glad I'm not getting mine for another 16 days as a present as I own an 4K LG TV as well so hopefully they will have pushed a patch out by then. But I like you use my TV's built in apps, I see no reason to waste more electricity using a console to stream my shows like some people seem to want to do.

Exactly my point, I get a little paro about leaving consoles on longer then needed to keep them from overheating and such :p The Reddit thread does mention LG working on a patch though which is good to know.

Also @guybrushfreeman, thanks for the help :)

HolyS the power cable that comes with the pro is insasely short!!

Thankfully its a standard PC power cable type I have tons of. Else I would have to rearrange my entertainment area.

I have a Pioneer Kuro, but it's only 720p. Guessing there's not much point in getting a Pro for me?

Super downsampling, better load times, better performances all around, the best IQ ever for your screen.

Just make sure it handles black levels properly or it would be kind of a waste but I can see the advantages.

Yea tell me about it.

I always set their deliveries for my days off, and I almost always get the same guy who at this point has probably seen most of my onesie collection. But he always knocks either super loudly so it scares the shit out of everyone, or he is super quiet that I completely miss it and get an email saying it's been delivered and have to go hunting outside.

I'm just gonna start fresh on the hard drive and redownload my saves from the psn cloud and reinstall the few games I'm playing now. If I go this route do I just need to disable primary from the original PS4 in the settings and then sign in on the new system via psn and enable primary? I'm going to keep my old PS4 for the bedroom.

if i want to install an SSD into my Pro (just arrived) it's just (ignoring the software update via USB thing for now. i Know about that) a case of getting the existing caddy + HDD out, putting my SSD into the caddy then putting things back?

Won't be SSD be "thinner" than the old hDD?

Edit: So i've got the old HDD out and the Evo can obviously fit in but it is thinner/lower than the old HDD so the screws kinda go over the top of it.

Hello fellow PS4 Pro owners,
have you tried to replace the hdd? If yes, is the little piece of plastic that covers the slot broken and can only be stuck in place with a piece of adhesive?

Yay.
Grabbed mine 2 hours ago. Since I sold my old PS4 yesterday, I had to do all the settings from scratch and the total time it took for it to have everything, including downloaded games (minus FF14 patches) was about an hour. Super easy. So far it feels almost exactly the same, but I'm going to try some Titanfall 2 later.

OK,

I got Battlefield 1 on PS4 for the first time earlier today, prior to having my Pro. I did not have my vanilla PS4 anymore when I got it, so putting it in my Pro is the first time I've ever played the PS4 version of BF1.

I played two rounds of 64 player conquest and I don't feel like I ever saw more than one framerate dip. Maybe Pro support was already baked in? I heard reports of BF4-style performance (which I'm very familiar with, as I spent 30ish hours with BF4 back during the PS4 launch), and I believe it -- the beta for BF1 wasn't all that impressive performance wise.

Been playing BF1 on PC with a locked 60fps and tonight's brief session was pretty comparable. I had one noticeable and relatively prolonged dip when a mixture of smoke and gas grenades littered the screen, but that was it. It's also worth noting that I immediately cranked FOV up to 90 (horizontal -- 74 vertical) in the menu, which probably adds a bit of stress to the pipeline.

Pretty smooth. I know someone was calling placebo on another user reporting similar circumstances, but that didn't seem bad at all...

Still hoping there's a patch dropping today with very specific support outlined... Unless I'm just incredibly late and missed it entirely.

Anyway, Rise of the Tomb Raider was awesome in 4K supersampled mode. Super smooth image quality. I'm currently waiting for Titanfall 2 to finish it's disc-based install so I can give it a go, then off to Ratchet, then maybe a few PSVR titles.

So far, so good, but really can't wait to see if Dishonored 2 hangs well tomorrow, and Watch Dogs 2 next week, and FFXV at the end of the month. :)
