PlayStation 5 Pro does not work with the PS5 Slim plates.

Yeah, that's the problem. It's not "just plates." It's yet another example of a pattern of behavior
Here we go FFS, arrogant Sony! I'm sure the engineers would have liked to line up the plates but at some point of the design the leads had to decide between moving the clips or something worse for the design. They knew it wasn't ideal, and they should have just said it earlier clearly. Hell just have Cerny say "sorry guys, we had to".

You're sounding like some sort shitty parent that's not happy about the tone of his child, and it's just as pleasant to be around.

They just released the dark plates for the PS5 slim models. A one-piece per side plate design instead of two pieces, and a better looking horizontal stand.

I wonder how they will approach the PS5 Pro with those new fins?
Yeah was just on their site and all the gloating about the lawsuits is a bit cringe but they got a good setup there. If I had a PS5 I'd be in there.

Yeah their edginess is cringe most of the time. I bought their darkplates for my OG disk PS5 because I liked that they rounded off the popped collar fins. Thinking of getting the digital set for my slim PS5 since I'll likely be moving the disk drive to the Pro when it arrives.

¿Is there another white cover here?
Sorry, I didn't get what you mean. But looking at pictures of the Slim (I have the first model only), it looks like it was already there, so I was wrong.
edit: fan is bigger on the Pro, apparently the same diameter as the metallic ssd cover length.

which in turn made them relocate the covers' attachment points
If that was the case then in my opinion it’s just lazy. They were designing Slim and Pro together, they could have made them fit. Or they haven’t done that or thought that they will be able to make it fit and in the end failed. It seems unlikely because this type of mistake would cost them money (but then again gamers will pay for that).

New model PS5, new plates they're expecting people to buy. Makes sense to me, regardless if the changes were required or not, they're getting what they want.

Good that I've canceled my AliExpress plates for the slim.

Gotte wait a few a few weeks longer for compatible PS5 Pro AliExpress plates.

hmm apparently the SSD is on the same side as the drive now (bottom if the console is horizontal). They had to relocate the fan, which in turn made them relocate the covers' attachment points.
So, it will be easy to fix. Razorblade and Superglue

here we go batman GIF

It's not the same thing. Poor analogy.
Was that an analogy? It was pointing out the flawed conspiracy theory. If you want to "force" a sale you'd use something that someone could actually need to use for shelf storage in the case of the stand or the disc drive if you need it for physical media.
