PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

I just bought the Ps3 version of Dragon's Crown after playing the Vita version for months now. It's a really really beautiful game on the big screen, but I vastly prefer the Vita's controls for this game. It was quite shocking really how spongy and unresponsive the Ds3 feels compared to how tight the Vita's Dpad is.

One more thing cross-save is pretty sweet.

Yeah, I like to play it on the Vita whenever I can. The cooking minigame and clicking on shinies is just so much easier on the touchscreen. The PS3 version is the best for playing multiplayer with more than 2 people though.

For sure... touch makes anything involving the r-stick cursor so much more intuitive, and just having the option for UI makes doing either/or with buttons or touch comfortable.

Here's those microtransactions with the PSP store:

lads, sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask, but can anyone recommend a good vita bundle to grab? Not big on the BL2 or the Walking dead, personally I prefer (J)RPGs. Thank you.

You could always sell the BL2 code and use the funds from that to buy some of your preferred games?

Vitagaf, if I swap memory cards does the bubble arrangement remains the same? I think it did before but am not sure what the current firmware does.

Just got a 64gb card for my Vita. Setting up downloads from the browser store not working for others right now? Just gets stuck loading when i click to download it to the Vita, been that way for a few hours. Could it be because i already have quite a bit of stuff queued for download on the Vita itself?

Downloading everything via the system is just too much of a pain with it always resetting to the top.

Did you set your Vita as your primary one and did you also enable automatic updates? I know there was an option I had to enable in the system settings with Plus or something to enable me to send downloads to my Vita.

You have to have coinciding bubbles in the same spot... anything that's going to be on both memory cards, like mandatory utilities and apps such as Welcome Park & Settings etc, and physical retail game bubbles that will be visible on the system even if you put in an empty card. Same for anything you downloaded that will be on both cards.

It sounds more complicated than it is, but keep that in mind and you'll have minimal clean up, if any.

Is it just me or has it been awhile since EU PSN had a sale or deal going on?

They... have had continous sales going on haven't they?
There was that notsogreat Smashing Sale or something, which overlapped with the E3 sale which lead to the Knockout Deals we have now.

Nothing quite as good as the January sale, I think.

Ah you're right, I missed the most recent one but looking over it there's not a whole lot of interesting stuff on sale for the Vita, it was the same issue with the E3 sale.

One of the games where I just don't "get it". The gameplay is nice, but I get bored after playing it for five minutes.

Ahh that's fair. My gf has the exact same problem with it.

I dunno why but there's something I find extremely satisfying about destroying a spot and landing perfectly. Plus, the daily grind keeps me occupied nearly every day.

Different strokes for different folks.

Sony really either needs to get rid of the light bar on the DS4 or let us dim it more. The glowing yellow light while charging the controller on standby is really annoying even at the lowest brightness setting.

Can't you put it in a drawer while it's charging?

Sony is stubborn about a lot of things. Reminds me of the auto-dim on the Vita.
The light bar brightness option already exists, except the only 3 brightness levels right now. Would it be that difficult to add a dimmer option for people who don't care about the camera/Morpheus/whatever BS they come up with next?

I shouldn't have to put it away at all. Really don't know why Sony is so stubborn about this.

I think the brightness setting is applied by the PS4 and not stored on the controller, in that case they can't change how it works when it's charging. And they can't allow you to turn the light off, that would break actual functionality.

I just charge the controller with its back turned to the wall, I pretty much never see that light.

Man I'm apparently just not on the same page as the majority where ports are concerned. I'm enjoying the heck out of Borderlands 2 on Vita and recently picked up the GOW Collection. The collection's only problem for me is the absolutely god awful cutscenes. Other than that, I even kinda like what they did with the controls and I'm having a blast revisiting the game on my Vita

That is confusing ;)
I have a 64g card with all 10 pages filled and another 32g card that wll cover another 5 or 6 games on a couple pages.
System apps are in the main page or inside a bubble.

If I switch to the 32 and back, what happens to all my 10 pages?

Just reading through the latest update to kickstarter backers of Shovel Knight, they mention further release goals here, but it sounds much further down the line. Still, it's the best indication of a possible Vita release yet.

On The Horizon: New Platforms?!?

A lot of people are learning about Shovel Knight for the first time and there is a vast sea of awesome gaming platforms out there. It is a goal of ours to see Shovel Knight arrive on all sorts of platforms -- from consoles to handhelds and maybe even a few things in between? However, we still have our hands full with our initial plans. Once we have some surefire details we’ll be sure to tell you all about it!

Playing it on PC with my Logitech controller, with its nasty 360-style dpad only made me long for the deliciously sublime clickiness of my Vita's dpad even more. Hopefully they follow through.

The pages that don't have any games/apps on them get erased. I think if you put a game/app that's on both cards on each page, then the page settings should be safe. Not 100% certain that is the case though.

Aha, I thought he meant that the Cheat was debunking it all.

I really should sleep.

RCR is Retro City Rampage, right?

My favorite part is the one where he says "the developer saw nothing from that" when a lot of devs have stated that they do get paid for putting their game on PS+. They don't get as much money as they'd get for a normal sale but they get money.

I'll never understand people that writes something knowing anything about it. Especially on twitter, where you can easily get your ass kicked by other people.
