It really is bizarre. If they made it a couple hours later, it would make actually more sense since Japan would be up. Currently it is 7am JST. I feel like it is usually 4pm EST, which isn't terrible for Europe

The secret is watching the trailers in 4k the day after instead of watching a terrible quality stream.
 
look, sony dont really NEED to do/show anything amazing, but it would be so nice to have something interesting and is coming this year

I don't expect too many surprises, but I think it'll be a pretty good showing. Maybe show 1 or 2 first party titles that will make it out this year(Astro, maybe Concord?)


They'll end up holding most of their heavy-hitters until August or September when they do a Showcase and the PS5 Pro reveal.

No sense to show the PS5 Pro now with the regular PS5 doing very well in sales while a Days of Play price cut just started.

IKR? It doesn't affect me, being that I don't stay in Europe, but this shit is crazy. Especially when you consider that it's pre-recorded. All they have to fucking do is just release it 3 hours earlier and the world is happy.
 


There's gonna be some other announcement that's not a game (?

Also, no mention of Concord or the much-rumored Horizon games. They've likely given those to Geoff's Summer Game Fest.

Well, Sony already stated in the State of Play announcement from yesterday that all PS Studios games shown would be for this year only, not 2025 and beyond.
 
What they say at this SoP might genuinely decide whether I stick my Ps5 on Ebay or not. With very little coming out I want to play at the moment, I'll need something fresh to stop me from getting shot of it.

Those are just the guesses of an Era poster, not a leaked lineup of the SoP.

There's been no indication in the leaks that Concord or Phantom Blade 0 would be there.

There's also no Dynasty Warriors being shown. The "dynasties facing each other" game is Where Winds Meet:

I give this a 10% chance of being good. It's been soooo long since I've been impressed with a showcase/state of play that I just expect them to suck….even then I am usually disappointed
