Played the shooting range from the London Heist today. Good stuff. I was worried about VR worlds being a one and done thing, but danger ball and the shooting range will keep me coming back.

Man im still torn between getting one of these:

Rigs
Battlezone
Eve valkyrie

What should I get?

not eve valkyrie, certainly not for the price they're asking for it... Rigs is amazing though. but i hear battlezone is too but i'm still waiting on my copy :(

Is there any way to move "the circle" you have to stand in for job simulator?

I'm a good 6 feet away from the camera but the circle I have to stand in is just out of range behind me and in the middle of my sofa.

Tilt the camera down. I think the circle is what it sees as the middle of the play area based off where the camera is aimed.

Nah, it's no good for normal games. I'd much rather play a video game on a 720p screen than the cinematic view on this.

I also disagree. Sure it's not like looking at your high def tv but it's pretty awesome playing a 2D game on a IMAX size screen with a perfect black level. Frankly it's amazing.

So I think I'm going to hook up my VR and retry the demo of Here They Lie again. I tried it right after I did the Kitchen demo last time, so I think I was too shook to really give it a good chance. I may try Until Dawn again, since I pussed out in the intro when that thing jumped at me. I'm going to conquer horror in VR or die trying.

Moved the PS4 back into the living room. Half tempted to keep the PS4 when I get the Pro to stop moving it from the streaming setup and back...

Anywhoo, now I can try Sports Bar VR properly, so I'm jumping in.

Unlocked Area X last night in Rez.

it was almost an religious spiritual experience.

But what amazed me the most about it, how i was able to freely move in all directions without a single bit of motion sickness.

Sounds weird. I'm about 7 feet back in the circle.

You really do need a good bit of space for some games over others. I can almost sit anywhere I want for Battlezone but Job Sim requires a specific distance every time and it's always the same spot on my floor. I find after I get centered in the circle, when I start the game I move forward a bit for the game space. You won't be needing much room to move around in Job Sim but you will need to crouch and reach out from time to time to get to cabinets and shelves to provide the best customer service you can, human!

IMO you shouldn't need more than 10 feet from the camera to the farthest back you can be and no more than arm's length left or right from the center line of the camera.

If you need more space, just point the camera in a different direction and give yourself more room. Lots of people seem to think they need to be directly in front of the TV. Mine is pointed to the side so the social screen is visible for anyone wanting to sit and watch. Despite not being room space VR, you still need room to play.

It's fine for every other game (at present) it just with job simulator the one specific area of the room they want me to stand is exactly where my very heavy chair is.

I'll see If I can nudge things around to try and get a few more inches of space. Thanks.

bare in mind you don't have to face the TV, only the camera. so if room is tight you could move the camera somewhere else facing a different direction.

I've actually started to think about getting a second PS4 so my kids can continue to play Overwatch while I play PSVR. LOL.

Played Until Dawn Rush of Blood on Saturday night, holy shit it is amazing! scary as fuck, I love it. I also tried Headmaster and Playroom VR on Saturday great games.
Unfortunately I tried Driveclub VR had to take the headset off, felt dizzy and sick. Is there a way to prevent this from happening or do I just have to ignore games like this? Will I get used to it and will it better if I keep playing them?

And here comes PS VR NSFW stuff along with it. Though it has been announced PS doesn't support porn, but those are regular .mp4 files to be played.

Hey I won one of the launch bundles but I don't have a PS4 so it's of no use to me. Would rather help a gaffer out then ebay it because none of my friends need one.

Selling it for $540 (comes with a $40 PSN credit). PM me if you're interested.

I dont know how individual that is, but I got the motion sickness much quicker the first few days I played those kinds of games in VR. Yesterday when I played Driveclub i didn't really feel sick at all. I think it is a combination of getting used to it and having the right setup.

Saying mobile vr with tracking is the way to go us just saying wireless vr is the way to go, no shit Sherlock, but there isn't a wireless protocol that has the latency needed to provide positional tracking data. You don't think every company is trying to work it out?

OK, thanks. I've just been reading up on it and apparently having a head cold can cause it and unfortunately I have a head cold @ the minute so I'm hoping that caused the issue.
The article also says chewing gum can also help.

PSVR is 100% immersive, but I'm starting to wonder whether I really want to be THIS immersed into video games.

I can't help but feel there's something unhealthy about being strapped into this headset for hours. I really wonder what the long term effects are.

There's something "off" after you take off the headset and are back in the real world. I didn't think my complaints about PSVR would be that it works too well.

alternatively, if it comes to it. you could take some motion sickness medication. they worked with me as a kid. i assume they would in VR?

i think i once read about effects of simulators/VR in the military and that long exposure can lead to a sense of disassociation and that extended use make you get used to VR but then your brain almost flips and registers reality as the "VR". not in the sense you're going to run off a building and expect to survive. but just in the sense you have to get used to reality again. it doesn't take long to, but it is something that's there.

i have to say, after a few days straight of PSVR i do get small feelings of disassociation the day after at work. it's the only effect it seems to have on me, but it soon wears off. the only times i've felt like that is honestly with drugs.

Oh my god why did I not think of this? I feel really stupid now

I really liked eve but the demo is really short. I think I will wait on all three until the price drops...

Im still on the fence about this. I have a Vive and am a bit burned by the lack of a significant future software presence. Does psvr's software outlook seem alright past this wave of launch titles? I might just invest in the tech to support the medium, but it's difficult if the future is uncertain

so far it's looking bright. obviously a lot of those could be canned if the tech doesn't take off as well as expected.

Imo regardless of platform it's rarely a good idea to invest for uncertain future.

A friend of mine bought XB1 because he loved Kinect on 360 and looked forward to current gen Kinect titles...

Wouldn't the best approach be to wait and see? Seeing as you already lost patience with Vive, get PSVR when it will have enough games you're interested in.

I'm having so much fun with my PSVR, seriously...
It's such a fresh and cheerful experience, I haven't been this thrilled by something gaming related in years... I mean I even stopped playing Gears 4 for, and I was eagerly waiting for that.

I tried using the PSVR without the Processing Unit hooked up to the PS4 via the HDMI input but it said it needed to be hooked up to the PS4. I thought that you can use the PSVR without the PU being hooked up via the HDMI cable.

"Fun" is the word I keep going back to. I can't describe any of my VR experiences without saying how much fun it was. There's a simple purity to it that games have been kind of lacking lately.

Being the VR platform that will earn developers the most money for the next two-three years should secure a good portion of the VR projects at least.
Robinson: The Journey, Resident Evil 7 and Farpoint are some milestone exclusives in the near future.

edit: Exclusivity-funding aside (and we know Oculus has committed to another $250m thanks to Facebook).

Tried that VRideo app on the US PS store. Some really cool videos there with some actual educational value. There was also some gimmicky videos where you have "human interaction". That was pretty creepy how lifelike that felt at times. Some potential there definitely.

Its a pretty great app.

Played some more.

had to pull the VR headset off my head after playing scavenger journey or whatever its called. The jumping and the flipping. lord no. Now I'm dreading Rigs.

finished The London Heist. That was really quite fun but real short - and there were moments in there where the physicality of the guys in the room/in the car with you felt really quite real. The chase section was great fun. Watching the actors go at it in the scenes makes me wonder if oculus/vive has content of this fidelity?

Played the playroom platformer demo - it was cute how when you rescued them, they're go to y
our onscreen PS4 controller
. very cute. How do you solve the conveyor belt bit? The grapple mechanics with the touch screen was also very clever.

harmonix music demo was really quite fun, the painting one was great with both move controllers. Might buy it when its on sale. How much is it?

Paid $10 for Superstardust VR (already have the game). Mind you have I have a 3D tv and I gotta say, I dont think it looks very good in VR, its just crisper and nicer looking on the 3D tv in 3D mode. Haven't played its VR game mode. Wish I put the $10 into batman instead.

Another thing I did was make sure the camera was standing in the same height as my eyes. I also used the demo disk calibration instead of the one in the settings as I didn't feel that helped at all. There are multiple threads on Reddit that have users with different solutions. I have posted what helped me. I hope you get to fix yours because I know how annoying that tracking is :/

I tried some of the Reddit stuff and I almost have no issues anymore.
Here is what I tried.
1. Power off the ps4 unplug the camera wait for a minute then plug in and power on.
2. Sit closer to the camera at exactly 6 feet.
3. Do the manual calibration stuff. Settings->Devices->PSVR
4. When it happens turn off and then on the headset.
5. Standing and sitting need two different setups. Either you move or the camera for each situation.

Before I did these things I couldn't finish the Thumber demo because it drifted 90 degrees. I tired the demo again with no drift at all.

Thanks guys, I'll try these methods tonight.

WTF Rigs. Was going thru tutorial and i was doing fine with head turning. Tried to do the right stick turning and the FOV got smaller and now i feel nauseated. Who's the fucking genius that made the FOV smaller? Went back to head turning and the FOV is still small, please tell me thats not how its going to be. I had to turn that shit off.

FoV reduction is actually one of the known mechanisms by which to reduce nausea in VR with artificial rotation. If they're indeed reducing the FoV, then the "fucking genius" was just following actual studies into human perception of VR. You'd have been even worse off with a wide FoV.

Sports Bar VR online is a bit of a disaster if you get lag. Just ruins everything.

Playted Job Simulator again since the patch fixed the crashing and I just can't do that game. Any combination of standing up, having to raise your hands and the move controller just breaks everything and makes it go all swimmy.

I've tried travel sick tablets and travel wristbands but they weren't any help with motion sickness. I'm going to give it a couple more days to see if I get used to it.

So what's screen drifting?

The center slowly starts moving to one direction (usually left) so when you're facing something that's supposed to be centered in front of you, you end up looking to your left. Either a little bit or a lot and trying to manually center it in-game is impossible.

STEP 1
Download our videos from a desktop PC and copy them to a USB device in a folder named VIDEO

STEP 2
Plug in to your PlayStation system

STEP 3
Open your Media player and Enjoy!!

*Currently, our videos are only playable in 2D mode through the PS4 Media Player is really frustating
