I use the cloth to wipe the middle and rims in a circular motion, then use canned air to blow out any dust and hair. I clean it every 2-3 sessions.

i wish they'd just put out the content on vr worlds as standalone digital downloads. like i wouldn't be adverse to pay like $10 a pop for the ones i want to try based on the demos. then again i guess they'd want that full $40 instead of only getting $20 for heist and descent

same, i also used canned air since the cloth left dust particles after i wiped.

Godsend device for all the VR headsetsI owned now that we are mentioning this. It's not really grounded, although I use in my MOBO and all, it has a risk of ESD for sensitive exposed boards. For stuff like VR headsets it never has caused me any issues.

For lenses:
This is what pros use and it has an end with India ink that has a little nub that contours to a lens shape. The ink/pad are designed to create enough mechanical friction to remove stuff on lenses. The other end has a brush for cleaning lenses by just brushing off material.

I've never really had any trouble with depth perception before, but I notice with PSVR that things don't really seem like they're in 3D. I don't have a strong sense of "presence" like people talk about. It's more like I'm sitting in the middle of a dome-shaped screen. Everything feels sorta flat.

Anyone else?

Everyone should head to Costco and pick up their eyeglass cloth from their vision center. Using these on my glasses for years. Works WAY better and is way softer than Sony's included cloth.

Not at all, i feel like i could reach out and touch anything when playing, my daughter was putting her hand out trying to get the fish and toy robots when she played, if it had no depth you wouldn't do that.

Have you done the eye to eye measurements? maybe your getting a bad feed to one eye?

I asked this before without replies, so does PSVR work with any "vr-video"? Has anyone downloaded and transferred 360 videos to their PS4 and watched them with it?

PSVR Worlds menu and games like Danger Ball and Luge def had some notieceable 3D effects.

Anyone else think Luge looks god awful in the headset? Everything looks pixelated.

Been playing over an hour with the tiny demo of DriveClub VR and love it.
No dizzyness at all, of course it looks rough, which is even more noticeable here because you always focus the eyes to a far point, but I drive much better than without VR. It's a shame there is no discount for full version owners.

You know what, I turned 50 this March (16th,preorder day),been gaming for over 40 years.... seen all the changes and advancements in programming and tech bringing us forever increasing immersion and entertainment in our hobby.

Well, PSVR just brought that "kid at Xmas" feeling right back to this cynical bastard. I really can't wait to see and play all the coming titles over the next few months, it's bloody great time to be a gamer!
I bought rigs, dcvr,thumper...been through the demo disc and playroom vr (yep, that platformer NEEDS a full game) and theres nothing I'd consider *crap* amongst em all.

Sony, if I wore a cap I'd doff it in your direction.

Just turned 46 and I completely agree. Feels like Xmas 1978.. just unwrapped my Atari for Xmas and fired up Pitfall... Dem feels.

Same here guys..the last 4 days have felt like that grammar school break between X-Mas and New Years. We wake up and plan our day around playing with this thing.

If you've never tried VR, you will be blown away. It's much better than I was expecting it to be.

IMO first thing you should do is try the Ocean Descent demo from VR Worlds on the demo disc. It's underwater and the PSVR already feels like you're wearing a snorkeling mask (so it's really immersive), and it's non-interactive so it's a nice intro to the feeling of VR.

Nice!
I'll do that. I did come across a PSVR demo unit in Best Buy but decided against trying it out. I posted about it on GAF a while back. The -only- other VR I tried was a couple months ago in Atlanta at the College Football Hall of Fame. They had (I believe) a GearVR headset, but what they were demo'ing was sooooooo bad. Didn't make any judgements based on that, though. The content they were showing was just really really poor.

Just played through Batman VR and it was amazing. I've tried Oculus and Vive before so I was a little skeptical about whether PSVR would live up to those standards but I'm actually very impressed.

I'm also waiting for someone to write a quick guide for this one of these sooner or later. I'd search how to do it while at work but I assume nothing but porn sites will come up and I like having a job. =P

I'm really hoping with the pro we can get some better IQ in some games. Job Sim looks great. Hoping some devs will patch some current games like Battlezone. Cockpit looks great, distant objects, not so much.

They will. Sadly, I doubt Driveclub and PS Worlds will get a patch due to the developers being closed down. :(

Thanks for the suggestions. Definitely getting a lens pen.

Is it better than watching Netflix on GearVR?

YES.

For clarity: The screen has MUCH less screen door effect. In Gear you can virtually see the pixels and even the sub pixels, and with a noticeable gap between them. PSVR has slightly lower resolution but this effect is massively reduced on PSVR. I find it deals with darker colours better than the Gear did, and there's massively reduced smearing (when black elements of the image blur onto lighter elements when you move your head).

And the best thing about it... PSVR is much clearer to the edges of the screen. Gear VR's sweet spot was like a circle in the middle of your vision then got real blurry real quick just outside of that area. PSVR's clear zone extends much further, basically most of the way until you reach the edge of the lenses.

Agreed and I also feel the fov is bigger on the psvr vs my gear w/s6.

yes, physically moving it up down and side to side, as i said it felt twisted when i;d finished but i had crystal clear vision, i'm guessing when i put the headset on before and it felt straight one of my eyes were out of focus.

When you read that 'all the text should be clear' screen, if you look straight is the entire paragraph clear or are the words at the far left and right slightly more blurred?

I can never get that screen to be as sharp as I'd like, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to though.

I love watching big popcorn movies on it, like Star Wars. It really does feel like watching an IMAX film in the theater, and for all intents and purposes it is exactly the same thing.

Cinema mode is also nice for FPS games, like Destiny. I seem to perform better in them too.

Watched a bunch of Football on this thing yesterday.

not nearly as cool as gaming on it, but a pretty awesome side use.

The most impressive thing to me so far was being able to really smoke a cigar in London Heist. Having the microphone be able to pick up you inhaling and exhaling was amazingly imjpressive, more so than anything I played on Vive.

Rush of Blood was also extremely impressive, more so than anything also on my Vive. That's the thing i'm finding; the Vive is a better experience but it's a bunch of shovelware one trick pony shit. Atleast so far on PSVR there's cool stuff that isn't some gimmick.

A really cool thing i would like to see (hear) on PSVR is music with dynamic binaural. I hope Sony has some use for that cause it would be awesome.

i'm not even sure why there isn't some sort of standard thing like that on smartphone already...

If I grab 2 used Move controllers from Gamestop they will work with my PSVR right?

Be careful with that, you might have to buy new batteries which are ~$12-15 on Ebay. If an old Move controller was not charged in a long while the battery might be dead or have a very short charge. But if the used price is cheap enough,it's not a bad deal after buying new batteries.

I just finished Area X in Rez. OMG, I want a full Rez 2 like that!

I'm not too impressed with Harmonix Music VR so far. There's the psychedelic caleidoscope visualizer, the dull island visualizer, the simplistic "pose a doll" dance thing, and then the modelling that I can't try yet without two Moves. Is that what everyone is raving about?

Thumper is cool but a bit too strict on the timing for me.

Those are the games I bought so far. From the rest, Battlezone was nice and might be worth buying. Rigs was not my thing. EVE was over before I could blink. Driveclub is sort of cool. Allumette was neat but VERY brief. VR Worlds is mostly just good for the diving demo, which was my first introduction. I'm looking forward to trying the Playroom games though, they seem to have a Nintendoland vibe. And that platformer was AWESOME, I want more!

Also, I tried some non-VR stuff on it. Flower was almost instant nausea. Street Fighter V worked quite well, but it really shows the grainy image. However, Last Blade 2 and Mega Man 2 were very nice since they are already low resolution - it was like playing them on a cinema screen.

Watched some of the Japan GP on it.

Made me hope F1 2017 has VR support.

I played a 15 lap race on the medium sized cinema screen in PSVR. Genuinely amazed by it. Felt close to playing it in VR actually, minus the depth effect. You have to look into the corners a little, and at that size it felt like it was at a true to life scale. So much better than playing on my 32 inch TV even if you lose that 1080p clarity. Sadly the tracking did keep moving around a fair bit so I had to reposition quite a lot.

Seriously, I hope we get a higher resolution PSVR2 with fool proof solid tracking at all times on PS5 and using the headset as a replacement screen will be 100% usable.

As someone who occasionally gets motion sick with fps games like Fallout, I took a gamble buying this without trying. So far, so good though. I picked up Batman, Rush of Blood, and Driveclub.

Batman was the first game to test out. Was blown away. Still not 100% I'm calibrated correctly, but I'm also nearsighted and tried it without glasses or contacts.

Moved on to Rush of Blood today. Few parts gave me lumps in my stomach just like riding a roller coaster. Messed with eye distance a bit and didn't see an improvement. Messed with location of headset and got a little better clarity.

Tested out Driveclub demo since I had heard of the puking. Had some Shakey moments, but nothing that made me ill. Did anyone travel and two races. Lot of fun but mirrors were fairly blurry so I think I need to keep adjusting the headset. Will probably open the full game now that I know I'm good to go.

Then moves to the Kitchen. Awesome :D

Play better Vive games.

But yeah, Rush of Blood is pretty friggin cool

Count me as part of the holy shit crowd!!!

I have only played a bit of batman and vr worlds and also watched some tv and movies to test out cinema mode.

This is one of coolest things I've ever experienced. So immersive and makes you feel like you are in the world. I agree with others that we need a full length batman vr game now cause that was awesome.

YES. It's super fun and looks incredibly cool. It's a very simple "editor", just for mucking about in, but someone could easily make a great art tool for PSVR. Even just the UI tool picker is such a nice instantly easy thing to do in VR. Dreams in VR will be insane based on this.
