Alright, so... I did it so you wouldn't have to. I tried VR Porn in PSVR. Downloaded some from Pornhub and popped them on a flash drive.

That fucking sucked, no pun intended. Most videos were centered almost behind you, resulting in you having to do some neck exercises while holding down the Options button in order to try and center it in front of you. After you do that, you are greeted by GIANT women who don't even look human due to the heavily compressed 720p video being pushed up against your eyes.
Tho I'm sure that's someone fetish, in which case you're golden.

I know a lot of people were curious, so there you go. Only way it's going to be any good is if companies start making porn focusing on PSVR. But unless it becomes this huge force and companies see money to be made there, it's unlikely.

That's hilarious. But thanks for taking the bullet for us. It's gotta be really difficult to do a scene with your partner having a giant multicam rig on their heaf

received my ps vr with eve today.
can't wait to finally try it out by myself.
gonna be my first vr experience so i think i will start with playroom.

Any new consensus regarding the best PS4 camera version to use for VR? I have the old camera already and have been using it for a week. I do have some drift/jitter at times. Through the Best Buy promotion, I got a free new version of the camera and I wasn't sure whether to open it to see if it reduces drift or just sell it as brand new?

Just played 5 hours of One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 in Cinema mode.

Do yourself a favor and play any warriors game in VR. The screen being huge made it easier to pick out individual characters in a swarm of enemies. This is way better than seeing them as tiny dots on a TV.

Oh, and I posted the sweating gif for a reason. My head was literally sweating the whole time. It might be time for Sony to add some kind of A/C unit to PSVR.

Edit: And in cinema mode, you still get the benefit of 3D sound!

Got to the end of the London Heist and
tried to shoot myself. I'll have to replay to check but I think they just reacted as if I'd missed.

Will Sony be able to patch this drifting/tracking-issue or is it something that is hardware-regulated?

Pretty sure this is a software bug of some kind.

The technology triangulates your position based on a camera image. Its kind of hard to believe that it is a hardware problem where the image is "slowly drifting to the right". Its almost impossible based on the technology choice.

Its more likely whatever libraries do the calculations for location are buggy.

This is one of my primary concerns. Worried it's being released a day before so they don't have to bother with mandatory Pro support.

Again, where is this confirmation that games released after the Pro have to have Pro support? Everyone says it, but no one has provided proof.

As in some headphones or ones with a mic? The VR headset has a mic on it I think anyways.

I use Sennheiser 598s and they are great, and fit super comfortably over the PSVR.

What, how? I have Sennheiser 558s, which are practically the same shape, and I most certainly can't wear them with the PSVR, there simply isn't enough room between my ears and the PSVR's headband.

It's been part of the very first leaks in April based on the internal documentation that was leaked to EG, GB etc.

Chili Con Carnage!
I don't normally get hung up on RRP for games but none of the $60 games on PSVR seem worth even half that price. Disappointed Robinson is going the same way.

They patched 3D support into the media player today?

Picked this up yesterday and finally got to sit down with it.

I spent a contiguous 4.5 hours playing the demos and VR worlds with no breaks.

Impressions:

Tracking is perfect for me. Everything including the move controllers feels 1:1. Never had drifting issues at all. Very happy with the responsiveness of the unit and controls.

I LOVE the shooting games. Feels so good. And the little bits in London Heist where you can light the cigar and muck around with things is very immersive. I tried to light everything on fire with the lighter and I may have tuned in Tokyo on a couple of the characters. This really shows the potential of interaction. God...a free roam RPG where you can search drawers and stuff using the move controllers would be soooo good.

I only got queasy at the end of my session as I was playing through the first chapter of Odyssey...or whatever that space mech game is. The jumping and twisting of the screen into different orientations (especially in combat) is what did it, I think. I find that if I turn my head and turn the camera in the exact same direction, that is when the queasiness sets in. Unfortunately by the time I figured it out it was too late and I had to give it a rest. Funny thing is that rigs demo never made me queasy and it moves in very much the same way.

I did one race in vomit comet and had some momentary queasiness at the beginning, but had no real issues.

It's amazing how varying the graphics quality is in the games. Some look great and others look like dog shit. I found in sunny scenes, the graphics lacked quite a bit. Drive Club looks pretty awful and so does that luge game. Even the heist suffers a bit during the brightly lit chase sequence. When things are darker and moodier, It hides a lot of the short comings in power.

I really want to see some full length games for this thing. I know devs are trying to keep the experiences to like 30 minute chunks, but we need some full games in my opinion. London heist is one that could be made full. I'd love to spend some hours embroiled in those shenanigans. And a skyrim like rpg would be awesome.

Anyway, loving it so far. Hopefully it gets support for more than a year. Looking forward to whats on the horizon for vr.

How is 100ft Robot Golf ? I'm half-tempted to add it on my to buy list because it seems like a fun little game, but has anyone here tried it ?

Had my first attack of motion sickness last night playing Scavengers Odyssey, all other games so far have been fine, Rigs and Driveclub included.

I've been putting off playing it as everyone seems to be saying this. My lad tried it and said it made him feel ill, despite being fine with everything else he played. Think I'll leave it till last thing at night before I try it, don't wanna feel ill and lose a whole night playing VR!

No. It's not 3D, just 360 video with headtracking.

Yes, but Sony hasn't confirmed that. I realize pretty much everything else with the leak was true but things can still change, especially with developers supposedly being unhappy about possibly being forced to develop for the Pro. Time will tell very soon.

The more i was looking around for the best way to measure my ipd correctly i´ve realised how darn important it seems to get right, now just to find at what distance the optics are making you focus at, i think it was about 8 feet?

I do want a manual setting for this sony, a bit of an oversight as the picture method is simply worthless and i had variations on like 4-5 points as highest and 2-3 on the lower end, well off to mix around with the picture to get the needed ipd.

Now that I've got PSVR. I've no interest in 2D gaming. Anyone else?

For RIGS veterans... should I play with right stick or headturn. Last option is faster, but makes me dizzy..,

Well then the answer is obvious isn;t it? :)

I mean unless you want to be competitive to the point where you sacrifice how you feel, I'd stick with the more comfortable option.

Yes, VR for me after owning PSVR for a week now is the future of gaming. I agree that it should co-exist with TV gaming but it's just so hard to play when all I think about is how great it would to be playing this in VR.
I applaud Sony for jumping in on VR but let's just see how long they support it for. If PS5 launchs full VR ready then I'll be there day one.
There's just so many past games could be re-released with VR capabilities.

Somehow my post didn't...post. I assume because of the Switch outage.

Basically I was praising the heist. The graphics, sound, and controls are all great but the shootout in the middle felt like I should have been standing? Either way I REALLY REALLY wish London studio would turn this into a full game with branching storylines.

Also played VEV. It's a sweet VR 6DOF with amazing sense of scale. I'm gonna try to use it to train my VR legs. The menus are exceptional and it's only 5 USD. So support truant pixel and buy it!

That is exactly what we don't want right now. That is the reason why 3D VR is so important. Sony needs to patch that so you didn't see the real deal.

Just come back from 5 hours drive for this bad boy. Stupid Sony Malaysia don't prepare enough move controllers.
Goodbye real world soon.

Hope they do another Beat the Devs event for RIGS soon, as I can't make tonight's. I am willing RIGS to takeoff, as online it's nothing but thrilling. Even if I just get to play one or two matches a day, it's a joyous rush!

Hey thanks for the feedback! I figured it might be useful for something like that. I realized after working in VR for 6 months nothing makes any of us queasy. Maybe that's why ;)

i just dabbled with it but no quizy here either... yes, you are spinning around so it is a good exercise for sure.

Someone posted this on Reddit to help manually tweak things regardless of the pictures. So use the camera method to get what Sony thinks is right and then adjust it from there to get the best result. But having a simple slider in the VR helmet with some text and a picture so you can see what is best on the fly would be simple and the best option.

Another tip I saw from someone is that it can be hard measuring pupil to pupil if you have dark pupils. Instead, you can measure the left corner of one eye to the left corner of the other eye for the same length. Or right to right.

Thanks, also trying to find my perfect number and hoping for more clarity. It seems for DriveClub the lower the better. Settled for 59 now and it seems ok.

But I will try this method later:

Does anyone know, when Brookhaven will be released in EU? Can´t get enough of those "Lightgun" games. Only reason I didn´t sell my Moves for PS3 in all those years. :)
