Eve valkyrie is a very fun multiplayer game but every time I play it I just get sad that I dont have NMS, or Elite: Dangerous in VR

I can't wait to get it to play in multiplayer. And Im the same about the other games, wish we had those in VR now, especially NMS.

OK after the confusing setup, positioning etc. canera. I got it running, took a bit to realise I could look around / orient screen properly.

Tried the demo disc (still getting 8gb update though?! Worked however).

Eve: HOLY MINDBLOWING GEEZUS CHRIST. Did make me feel sick though, quick demo but whoah. Looking around the cockpit etc holy crap. Going upside down, gonna take getting usef to for sure.

Battlezone: epic, amazing experience, will buy this.

Driveclub; Loved it, changed the way I view racers forever. Feels like early adoption though, graphics take a major hit but for gameplay it was great. Bought it.

VR Worlds: ocean drop. Phenomenal, looking around blew me away.

Then I felt sick. Took it off. Hot here too sweated a lot in my eye sockets and forehead which was a pain. Grabbed all the free stuff and demos. Will warm up to Res Evil. So many cables argh! Gonna have to work on cable msnagement.

Theres a small gap in the rubber letting light in under my eyes/center of nose the rubber doesnt quite cover no matter how I adjust it, fixable? Tightened etc.

Spewing my Senheisser game zeros wont fit!

All in all, impressed. Gonna watch a 3D movie later. Have Pro with 4.5beta.

I know supply has been short, but I saw quite a few core bundles at my local best buy before Christmas, and now they're tapped everywhere lol.

Maybe some advertising that flew under my radar or something lol. Maybe just the good press.

It's not so much the press as the evangelism. Most people that have gotten PS VR have been ideal salespeople, because they get friends/family in the home and are basically, "You HAVE to try this." Experiencing it for yourself is the only way to really understand what it can do, and doing it in someone's home with all the time you need and a selection of different games to play is a much better "sales experience" than getting into a line to try a demo kiosk and be limited in your time because the next person in line also deserves to have a shot.

You're right in that there is good press, but that's secondary to a lot of enthusiastic early adopters just getting the word out.

The back of your VR headset is likely too low. Tilting it up will push the front down on your face. Also, be sure to pull the actual lenses towards you while holding the button underneath them on your right.

Spewing my Senheisser game zeros wont fit!
I have large headphones. Try putting them on first, and then the VR headset next. That worked for me.

Has anyone here tried using the headset on PC yet with TrinusVR? If so what was your experience like?

Yes. Although there are few limitations:

- positional tracking seems to be there if you use a webcam. I did not test it myself, but most of the webcams are not great and refresh only at 30fps, which would not provide the proper response. The feature is also in experimental state. I would imagine that with a high end webcam and perfect light conditions you could make it work, but in reality, I do not use the functionality at all. Rotation tracking is acceptable for many games.

- by default you get only 60fps if you don't force higher framerates. I have heard that it is ok on Nvidia cards, but I have an AMD GPU and have not found a way to go above 60.

- setup was confusing in some cases, but that's on Steam. Not the driver's fault.

Most of the comments online are from an old version of Trinus and are not valid at all now. Installation is painless apart from a few Steam related issues and the experience is very good.
It's not free, but has a trial version with all functionality.

Be free to let me know how does it work for you if you happen to try it. I would say it's worth it.

Jeez after playing re7 in vr, I have to say I hope psvr blows up, and it deserves to too.

Amazingly scary, and even though the graphics are kinda rough on regular PS4, after a few minutes I would forget .

So awesome to peek around corners lol.

So I haven't been keeping up with his thread since I lent my PSvr to my buddy for a month.

Any new must have new releases?

So many cables argh! Gonna have to work on cable msnagement.

Lol, I'm with you. I had to get used to all the cabling. I have a weird response to having so many cables running around. For some reason it freaks me out.

Just the state of the tech at this point so have to accept it. Amazing device so far. Am loving it.

Welcome to VR dude, get Werewolves if you haven't already!

Thank you and yes Sir / Madam!! On it now.

So battlezone, werewolves within, trackmania (on special here), driveclub VR, demo disc updated, REVII + season pass, playroom + toys dlc and youtube all updated. Plus got Pihrahna 3D to try the new 4.5 feature on my pro.

Phew. That's me for a while!

So apart from UI's one of my slight annoyances has been transitions from scene to scene in VR. Either it is too blunt; a light switch or too boring; a black frame, even worse if i is a rotating circle. The other day wanting to give the 3D cinematic mode another go I watched Tintin in 3D (still not a fan of 3D film) and the transitions in that were great, and realised that is what was missing. I decided to give it a go. Sadly I quickly realised as engines like Unreal don't support that kind of transition in-engine quickly and to create something would be well beyond my current means, Annoyingly I can create that transition no problem in a variety of specialist 3d and animation programs no problem. Might force me to make a prototype of what I want, if i can find the time.

I'm not in the beta; How is the 3D movies in VR.

I never had a 3D tv, and I've always wanted to watch Avatar in 3D, specifically because I heard so much about how awesome it was. Is it worth taking that quality hit to experience them in 3D.

I also wonder if Family Video rents 3D blu rays...

I find it interesting how some people get the woozy feeling from games like EVE, while it doesn't bother me at all. I can flip and fly all day without so much as any discomfort.

Throw me in that Playroom VR 3rd person Mario style platformer? And every time I move forward in game my body wants to fall backwards.

I've for the most part gotten used to the feeling, or built up that resistance, those VR legs so to say. Something like RE7 didn't bother me one bit. I changed the settings to make it uncomfortable and it was a better experience for it.

It convinced me to buy more 3D blu-ray movies. I only had one before the beta and now I have 3 and I want more. Never had a 3D tv either, so this is a nice bonus for me. I find the quality just good enough to enjoy it for what it is. It's not perfect, but it's good enough for me for now.

I've been playing Resi 7 exclusively in VR (about 6 hours in, with lots of breaks!). Today I booted it up without VR just to grab a trophy and man... Its not the same game at all in 2D. It still looks good of course but you absolutely don't feel like "you're there." It's an amazing difference.

game isnt scary but man is it discomforting and disgusting. its really something else. capcom made the right choice to make it for vr

Great to hear you enjoyed it! That eve demo really does blow people away. I just love these space demos. It, the call of dust one and the battlefront vr mission have all been fantastic. And the other demos you tried are a blast too. One thing I would give you a heads up on regarding re, since you said you got a little sick, re can be quite intense at times. So much so I've gotten a tiny bit of motion sickness, which has never ever happened to me in my life. Nothing too bad but I'm sure for others it's probably a lot worse. So make sure to take breaks every now and then. Then get ready for an amazing experience. its so emersive and realistic that lately I've been a little spooked walking around corners in real life. Only a little hehe but it does remind me of when I'm playing it. Such an amazing experience.

That's awesome! I'm looking forward to it even more now. Is it possible to still sign up for the beta or has that ship sailed?

I bet you can snag 3D movies on the cheap at Half Price Books too!

I can totally relate to this, not with RE7, but with Thumper (which by the way, if you haven't played, you should give it a shot, easily my favorite VR experience so far, next to Rush of Blood)

I played through Thumper strictly in VR. Getting S ranks on quite a bit. I had raved about how I just get in this trance and feel the rhythm. One day I tried it non VR, and I couldn't even finish the first set of levels. I just couldn't "feel" it the same way. I felt like I was just watching the highway and trying to hit the notes, but when I'm in VR? It's just a trance. It's amazing.

I don't know how many of you are fresh to the PSVR, but you might want to calculate your IPD also. It may or may not change your image quality. It's sorta buried in the devices settings and it doesn't walk you through it at all during the inital set up.

Also, I hear a fan blowing on you helps with the motion sickness.

Managed to snag a bundle at Target the other day, finally got it set up today. First thing I played was Thumper, and I was a little impressed but kind of underwhelmed? Thought "Uh oh, did I just waste $500?" Then I tried the X-wing VR mission in Battlefront and HOLY SHIT, that was awesome! I want a whole game like that! Then I messed around in Playroom VR and HOLY SHIT, AWESOME! I want a whole game like that platformer level!

Downloaded a bunch of other demos and the demo disc, borrowed RE7 from my cousin, and still haven't messed with VR Worlds yet. Also gotta try Bound. And Rez, I never played that before. Is there a list of must play games in here somewhere?

It really is amazing how different of an experience it is. I only played the demo in 2d, but before I played the full game I tried out the demo in 3D first and it was like I had jumped five generations ahead in gaming. It's one thing to go into a room and look around and be limited by where you can walk, to now being able to have much more freedom of movement to explore and observe things in your environment. Being able to just put your head into the environment, look around corners and being at the point where you fear being hit by virtual things is just mind blowing.

I can't wait to have more big experiences like this one and wish some older games could be brought back to vr. I would love to play myst in vr or the Witness (too bad they have already said PSVR is a no go on that one from what I've read, I really want to play that in vr.) and of course as many space shooters as they can make. I want them all!

This made me barf. Okay, maybe not, but I couldn't stomach it for more than a couple of minutes.

The demo for Thumper is early game stuff, which is pretty simple. I thought at first that the game wouldn't be that good because it's just X and directions. But once you hit Level 3 it takes off. If you wanna see some late game check out my twitch channel ( twitch.tv/mcchitman)

I just played the Battlefront VR on thursday! My buddy brought his PS4 over so I could try it. I would love to have a full game of that, but honestly the Call of Duty Jackal Assault felt better to me than Star Wars.

VR Worlds has a couple decent things. London Heist for sure. Luge sucks super hard.

Bound is pretty amazing. If you liked that Playroom platformer, you'll probably like Bound.

I actually own Thumper and am almost all the way through the game, I should be clear I was only talking about the VR aspect of it not wowing me as the first thing I tried.

It did for me. I've "sold' one, and everyone else that has tried it really wants it.

Also, has anyone else used any of the VR apps for longer than 10 minutes before deletinig them? I find the quality of the image so low that it's not interesting for me.

I'm still trying to find a 360VR video on youtube that's decent quality. The roller coaster videos, although low quality are fun to watch.

I certainly can see where this would cause people the most trouble. Eve and any space shooter will be a tough one for a lot of people. Strangly I'm perfectly fine with it even when things get hectic. Yet in re7 when I'm running a lot, that's when I start feeling a bit out of it. Still got to get used to that I guess. But thankfully the motion sickness I've had has been small and only on a few occasions.

Yo why can't we rent 3D movies on PSN? Apologies if asked but I'm sure on PS3 I did?! Maybe when the firmware lands?

Bought Avatar, Star Wars and Promethius 3D online. Blurays. Never even used my 3D glasses on my TV but I think in VR it must be rad.

That tip on the fan blowing on you, helped me a LOT today in driveclub VR.

Sounds a lot like my day today. Got one from Best Buy this morning and thankfully knew I wanted to play X-Wing VR for my first PSVR experience and was floored. Exceeded my expectations. Played the Playroom VR platformer next and was equally as floored. I would be so happy with full games of both of those. Bound was also incredible too, if a bit short. May have to buy it.

Feeling a bit sick, but nothing terrible. Probably shouldn't have played Bound with full camera controls. It felt fine for the most part, but had a few moments.

Still wondering if it was all worth the money in the long run, but overall very impressed. Hope to see it supported more and more.

The YouTube video quality is disappointing so far for sure. The resolution is so low. Yet there have been a few cool videos. I really liked the NFL videos though.

Yes. Although there are few limitations:

- positional tracking seems to be there if you use a webcam. I did not test it myself, but most of the webcams are not great and refresh only at 30fps, which would not provide the proper response. I ordered an Asus bluetooth 4.0 USB dongle thingy ($7 after rebate) and 4 PS3 cameras off Ebay (only $17 for 4) to try room-scale PSVR on PC. Definitely going to try Trinus, although I'm confused why it requires FreePie in addition to PSMoveService.

I love my 3D Blu-Rays. Those are all great choices. My go to demo desk remains Tron Legacy (I usually watch the entrance into the grid, through the escape from the games). I'm interested to see how this compares to my 3DTV for a few darker movies that suffer from cross talk issues (Fright Night remake). I could never really be bothered to try and rip them to watch them on PC when I still had my Oculus, so I imagine I'll get some use out this feature.

Hopefully the firmware launches soon!

I haven't noticed any cross-talk whatsoever. As you're getting a completely unique image per eye (rather than relying on lenses to seperate them) I believe it's a non-issue here.

In my experience it's a nice natural image that isn't tiring on the eyes in any way.

Is there any news about the VR addon for Dirt Rally? The Codemasters blog has gone very silent :/

Since Dirt is one of the few titles still supporting my Fanatec, I'm pretty eager to try it :)

latest word is "“very soon though – most likely in the next couple of weeks”.

I know that feeling well of debating about it a few weeks ago. If you do it hopefully you'll have as an amazing experience as we are all having. I'm so glad I got mine. No regrets at all.

I should probably add some of you on PSN for online VR. Or you can add me! (xenorevlis)

Don't have the Werewolves game yet, but I do have Sports Bar VR and will be waiting patiently for May to arrive so we can go on adventures and solve problems as the crew of the Enterprise :)

EDIT: Oh and I have Driveclub VR as well

Right on.. for me personally I am super worried about motion sickness but my 10 year old boy tried it months ago at the mall of america and loved it so at the worst he and his friends will love it. Going for that father of the year award.

Thanks for the nudge... will be heading out soon.

I'm super bummed that Bridge Crew got pushed back again! I've been looking forward to that for a while now.

I'm McCHitman on PSN by the way.

This link makes it look way more difficult than it actually is, but if you own a ruler, you can get a pretty good measurement of your actual IPD:

http://doc-ok.org/?p=898

Then you can keep doing the IPD setting on the PS4 until you get the right distance, if it doesn't get it for you correctly itself.

I've accidentally acquired an extra Sports Bar VR code. I wanted to trade it for something but ultimately I'm too lazy so I'll just give it away.

Cool! My kids are too young to try but they got a kick out of being the tv player in the playroom while I used the vr headset. Playroom vr is such a great game to play with a family. But Yeah the motion sickness thing can always be a concern. Best thing to do is ease yourself into VR. As someone said to me here a few weeks ago when I got mine, you got to get used to your vr legs so to speak. Try out the demos first since they are short and easy to ease into vr, and take breaks when you can too, as playing too long in my experience can bring a little bit of sickness. hopefully those tips and the others that others have mentioned helps. Enjoy, it's an amazing experience!
