I also had drift to the left. Like after 20 minutes of playing I was legit almost 90 degrees to the left. Tried various setups and games, some did and other didn't. Rez and Until Dawn were pretty bad. And when I held Options to re-center it wouldn't actually do it the way it does on the menu.

No issues with Thumper and Gunjack though....hopefully this is just a software issue...
Thumper was the only game I had zero issues, and since I played Gunjack on the Oculus I know it is a similar game in nature. I believe both games do zero tracking of the controller itself so they are much "simpler" for tracking.

I just found a troubleshoot section on Sony's site. I went through all the steps and one of the last things they suggest is powering down one's PS4 completely to the point of even unplugging it. I am trying that then going to sleep and will pick things up tomorrow.

I did also find this so I am pretty sure my room being dark was not the culprit...
5. The darker the room, the better. This makes the tracking lights stand out better, and can be helpful in cases where the room color is too close to the tracking lights (if the camera can't really see the wall, the color doesn't matter as much).

If I cannot get it working tomorrow I will be looking to return it. For myself it was not something that was tolerable. It was unplayable, especially a game like Until Dawn, which I was really psyched to play and seemed right up my alley when I was checking it out even with the issues (I am a sucker for light gun games, always have been)

Summer Lesson has some serious presence. Jesus... She really looks like she's right there next to you and the animations are top notch.

I can tell it's pushing PS4 to its limits though because of the low resolution but dang you forget all that once you start playing.

I had played with the Oculus and Vive before, so I had already gotten past the initial novelty of VR. So when my sibling put it on, booted up 100 foot robot golf, and was like "HOLY SHIT ARE YOU SEEING THIS" I was like "yeah what about it" until I realized that this was their first time using a VR headset. I do wonder how much the press' reception of it was affected by the fact that they had all (I'd imagine) used higher-end VR hardware before, whereas the target audience is people who don't have access to that stuff.

When does Brookhaven Experiment release in EU/AUS? Is it worth getting? I played through the demo on the Vive when it came out, was pretty freaky and fun.

Really encouraged by the impressions in here. I have very little interest in VR, but I'm glad Sony stepped up to the plate. The big question, as with all Sony peripherals, is will they support it? History would suggest not :|

Also be interested to see if GAF could put together an attempt at an empiric measurement of nausea frequency/severity via a poll thread amongst those who own PSVR. It seems like it's a significant issue that occurs in a small minority of people, but that's purely based off reading posts.

No one in my family of 6 has experienced any nausea. Althougj we only have a few hours clocked, but so far so good.

Love PS VR : A few hours in and I see why REZ is the title to get. I'll do that soon.

Too bad my PS4 isn't having as much fun : It gave a "too warm" error several times, never shutting down and only lasting a few seconds, until finally shutting down just now. Truth be told its a replacement unit that sounded like a jet engine from the day I got it the exact anniversary of the PS4 release. Obviously that means the warranty is up so I guess I'll have to try that thermal paste option, I'm all tapped on money for a new PS4 right now.

I need a email alert for when someone gets VR Porn going on this.

As a PSP importer and day one Vita buyer I'm cautiously optimistic but realistically doubtful.
That said if you look at for what it offers now - like the WiiU - then I still think its worth it (if you have a PS4 and $500 to spare).
I'd also expect someone to hack it to work on the PC at some point so that should be fun too.

As for nausea I'd say I've had a small headache from the start but overall its been fantastic; Its very smooth all around.

Alright, finally got around to setting it all up this morning. Spent a good ½ hour calibrating and double checking everything to make sure I was good-to-go. To sum my last 3hrs up in one word....AMAZING!!!

No motion sickness, no tracking issues, no headaches and absolutely no negatives from me at all. This is my first ever experience with VR so I have no other devices to compare it to. To cover a few of my experiences:

Playroom VR – had an absolute blast with this. A real eye opener and immersed me right from the get go.

Driveclub VR – I went in expecting very little after reviews and the graphics hit is pretty evident right from the start but 30secs after getting in that drivers seat and taking off...the immersion absolutely sucked me right in and it became an afterthought. There is definitely some blur there but nothing that killed the experience for me and hopefully the Pro upgrade can clear things up a bit.

Rush of Blood – took me right back to arcade days, loved it. Had a bit of the SDE going on in pure black scenes but nothing to detract from how much fun it was. Had my first VR stomach drop on the roller coaster.

Kitchen – despite watching all the vids this still scared the living crap out of me (yes, I'm a sook) but it was one hell of an experience.

RIGS – this was my killer app. The game felt absolutely amazing and it literally felt like you were there, it's just a shame I was garbage at it. When you're high in the air from a double jump or when you eject the sense of realism is intense.

Rocket League (in Cinema Mode) – nothing too spectacular but I played it without issue, there was a little blur with the writing (still readable) but nothing that took away from the experince.

Hulu VR – it certainly won't replace your 4K TV but wow, it was an awesome feeling watching on a virtual massive screen overlooking a city of high rises and flashing billboards off in the distance. I found the image to be very acceptable and will most definitely be using this a heap.

In summary, this has been one of my most memorable gaming experiences ever and I really hope it takes off because it's something I'd really like to enjoy going forwards.

I still haven't played all of the demos yet, but so far my favorites are Rush of Blood and Job Simulator. I had so much fun with those two.

Whenever she walks past me to answer phone or look for something on the shelf I can't help shifting seat slightly to make way for her lol

Edit: By the way Spike Chunsoft EN just tweeted they planned to bring Danganronpa VR demo to western

Been playing since about 8:30.

I was a VRgin before tonight, and I gotta say it feels good. It's awesome to look around and be there. The res is a little low like everyone says but it doesn't bother me much. The next gen is gonna be insane.

So far my favorite experiences are the London Heist, the rescue robots one in the playroom VR, Eve, and Rigs. Still playing through the demos.

My biggest problem is I can still a space where my nose is and it lets a little light in, haven't been able to figure out how to close that up. Also when I was playing London heist my hands were kinda jittery. I'll look into it more later, I just wanted to play.

Been messing with this since 8pm est. played London heist, rush of blood and driveclub. No sickness! Started messing with theatre mode and it's totally fine. Played a match of WWE 2k17 with it and now my girlfriend is playing Dragon Quest Builders on it. Love this thing

watching dsp try this out and the lenses are constantly fogging for him.

anyone else have this problem?

he is one of the stupidest people I've ever watched! I'm cracking up at the chat room absolutely ROASTING him. He was confused for 5 minutes about what an AC cord was because his was wrapped up and the image in the manual had it straight.

So far, love it. My kids and wife took turns wearing it while we did co-op Playroom. So much fun. I only got queasy while moving around fast in Scavengers Odyysey.

Best moment, did the tutorial for London Heist with 2 Move controllers. After loading the clip in the gun, the game tells you to drop it on the box on the table. I dropped my Move on the floor. It's real

I have these things as close as they can be to my face/eyes. I think it depends on the person wearing it and how heavy/ sweaty they are. Also hope he took off the plastic on the inside.

Been playing since 3pm...and GOOD GOD MAN, it's all amazing!

I got Rez, Super HuperCube, RIGS, BattleZone and the free Playroom games.

RIGS and Super HyperCube are my favorites ATM, but honestly they're all awesome games so far.

RIGS in particular felt perfect - probably the most immersive game I've played and I can see myself playing it a lot.

Super HyperCube is flat out addictive - and graphically is the most impressive. It's got style for days. :)

BattleZone also is awesome as well - though ammo seems to be an issue. Maybe I'm not playing right.

Rez is Rez - meaning it's always been awesome and now it's... awesomer.

All in all it's exceeded all expectations for me.

Just finished playing about an hour of Batman, its fucking awesome. They could easily make a game based solely on the investigations in this universe.

Thumper is the best game,by far. So damn awesome and mesmerizing.

Is anyone finding the volume in Thumper too low? I'm using nice headphones and compared to the other games its not nearly as loud.

HOLY FUCK

Just set mine up and "only" tried the Kitchen Demo (and not really played, just sat on the title screen) and holy shit. Glad i've got mine!
Un f'n real.
It literally made me feel like someone just blocked out reality and and through me into another world.

My Wife recorded my first experience, lol, legend. Might upload later but it was heavy in the swearing from excitement. lol
Once i get back from picking up my boys from school. Bam. Time for,...everything VR,lol

The picture quality wasn't great compared to watching 1080p tv screen (maybe setup) but i'm ok with that.
I'll sacrifice abit of quality for total realism!

Totally worth it!

This thread made me hyped for psvr, I regret not preordering one when I had the chance. I think I had to wait until next month until my country got second batch of shipment.

There are some genres that I hope will make it's way to VR. Something like point and click adventure games, visual novel, or dungeom crawler RPG seems like it'll fit VR nicely.

are you sweating or are the lens fogging?

I just thought I should qualify this..

My eyes were not affected, nor were my lens fogged or sweat. And the resolution was shit on my TV as well as Headset.

This has happened before too late last night, I wonder if certain games trigger this or some type of interruption throws it out of whack.

Also here's a new thing. I went to play Hulu VR and got a HDMI with a x on my headset as well as no signal on my tv... anyone know about this? How does Hulu VR differ from Hulu in cinematic mode anyways?

Also is Polygon doing the narration for 100ft Robot Golf... I actually like it.

Tried it at a friends house today and enjoyed all the different demos and experiences you get to test. I've used a Rift before this so I had something to compare to directly. I thought it was a really close experience and enjoyed it.

If no one used any alternatives than they probably wouldn't have any quips. Little things like less detail in Eve Valkyrie don't really get in the way.

Drive Club VR was super cool and new for me as I didn't try any racing style games prior to PSVR, however it didn't look sharp at all. The cars each had a lot of aliasing around them. When the track dips down I did feel nauseous but it somewhat subsides.

Same thing happened when the roller coaster has a drop in Until Dawn. I really did feel a rush of blood to my head, which even though it wasn't comfortable, was still so damn cool that I was getting it from a game.

Battlezone is a cool concept, but the free flying and detail you get in Eve Valkyrie I feel surpasses it as an experience, however this is easier to pick up and just play.

Tried a few others but didn't have time for Rigs, so I'll try that later since I know everyone seems to enjoy that.

It's definitely worth the admission price just to experience it. I know myself though, and it would be something I use a little here and there while its new and then don't touch until someone comes over to check it out or a new game comes out that piques my interest.

DriveClub VR is amazing. I realized after a few races I have been looking into every turn habitually and checking my mirrors and looking around at the sights. This ruined cockpit views for me for any other racers. Gonna feel very constrained now.

EVE Valkyrie also gave a similar sensation. Chasing after a baddie, he flew up, so my head goes to track him while my reflexes catch up and my ship meets my head movement to precisely track him down. It's a fantastic feeling.

I love the whole aspect of having your viewpoint separate from your aiming. ARMA and TrackIR has been doing this for years and it's the best thing.

Midnight, played a lot of tumble, about to go to bed but thought I'd give driveclub a quick go.

First few hills felt a bit weird but that soon went, along with 3 hours of my life. It might not look as amazing as the original game but it looks good enough, especially in motion. And not a single sign of any sickness, such a relief - I actually felt more iffy being pulled along slowly in that playroom platformer. Wanted to keep playing but have to be up in a couple of hours.

Yeah. Same here.

what's the point of the sliding piece on the processor unit? to protect from dust when the headset isnt plugged in?

Having a lot of fun so far but there's like a tiny window I can see through on the bottom near my nose. Am I just not tightening it enough?

I also had drift to the left. Like after 30 minutes of playing I was legit turned almost 90 degrees to the left. Fuck knows how it was still tracking me.

I had the same issue but only ended up 45 degrees to the left. Still very strange though.

Haha I remember when I've played that demo a year ago during a games convention, I did the same exact thing.

I was amazed (and a bit embarassed since I was in public lol)

Had to stop playing for a bit. For sure this will take some getting used to but after a while there is for real eye strain.

Now question to you guys, is the picture quality clear for you guys or is everything slighty blurry?

I put the camera at centered head height (used to be up on top of the TV) and several feet closer, blocked some reflective windows with curtains and the drift issue went away. Camera is on an awkward makeshift tripod mount atm but at least now I know the headset is fine. Drift seems to be a compounded/cumulative tracking issue where good camera vision is required to counter the gyro drift.
