There's a little more to it I think- Ingress was cool, but the vibe it was going for was this sort of cyberpunk paranoia tech spy thriller deal. Every once in a while while I was on that I'd eye someone with another cell phone wondering if they could be playing, and feel a sort of suspicion about them, if they were a normal person or part of the war, which was what the game was going for and effective in that regard.
When I see another person out playing PoGo it's essentially glee. Childlike glee. Like Ash running into Brock and Misty (please don't correct me and mention that they were all angry at each other when they first met or something. It's been years. I'm just saying). We're all just pokemon trainers out there in the field.
edit: Edit okay now that I think about it Misty and Brock were Gym Leaders first and then... abandoned their gyms for some reason to roll around with Ash and Pikachu. Whatever still pretty much works actually.
First one I've ever seen around here!
yeah I'm betting these 20 year old characters are actually the most popular they've ever been right now.
