By the way, I just beat the E4, Lt. Surge and Sabrina. Since in my first try I was clearly beaten by Lance, I just decided to fight the E4 from time to time to level up, and to breed and trade in the meantime. Last night, while levelling up I got to Lance as usual. I was just thinking "ok, now he kicks my ass, I go heal my Pokémon and then I'll check GTS", when I started OHKOing everything. My party were all at least level 50 and I hadn't even realized.
On Lt. Surge I spammed Earthquake and X-Scissor on Sabrina. Piece of cake.

It takes longer to battle and catch the thing than it does to generate perfect stats for it in the first place. It'd take as little as half an hour total if I wasn't retarded about my Poke Ball selection and used ones that were actually effective.Minister of the Dog said:

Got all 16 badges now, only one real battle left in-game, but my Pokemon are still in their mid fifties...don't really feel like grinding them up against the E4 yet, but I don't want to start my playthough in the other game until I finish this one. Hmm...I guess I could start putting the team together and breeding for it, at least.

I just got badge 16 this weekend. Think I will do other things before grinding for the end game. I may start a breeding program (perhaps Gible and Beldum to start with).
My Gallade with mean look and false swipe has been helpful for catching the runners (only one to go and that's because I had to recharge my DS). I just wish I had remembered to level up Ralts until it got Hypnosis before evolving it.
I was able to unlock Night Sky's Edge with a Jirachi from the Colosseum bonus disk. I was pretty happy about that since everything I had read made it sound like it had to be a Gamestop Jirachi.
