Pokemon GC: the first screen shot

I would like to make my own character, he would have big hair, wear a headband and have a handle bar moustache he would be called “Brock Landers” and would shoot amateur movies in his spare time.

You can do that in Blinx 2: The Quest for the Bargin Bin.

Nice. A second full-fledged GC PKMN RPG sounds good to me and these screens look pretty nice. Hopefully it's another all double-battle game. One on One is just no longer a challenge and I'd hate to go back to it full time after the greatness of Colosseum.

Second? What was the first? I bought Colosseum and that was the only GC game that I was dissapointed with.

it's one of those "we-don't-know-****-about-this-game"-RPG's

Ah, the Nintendo RPG.

Actually, IIRC, Nintendo didn't want to do a home console Pokemon RPG because they would not be able to do the whole "trade & battle" aspect of the games... which is one of the reasons why Pokemon is popular.

Colosseum is the first obviously. It was more or less a GBA PKMN RPG in 3d with a higher difficulty then the norm. I don't see what's so bad about that but there isn't much room for reason with haters. People would've complained if there was yet another badge system, so there wasn't. Then they complain about there being no random battles yet so many RPG "fans" these days are anti-random battles. I just don't get it.

Surely they can use memory cards to do exactly the same thing, its just you wont be able to use your Gamecube at school during lunchtime. Either that or go online, but this is Nintendo...

....Meowth's Party, one of the GCN demos ?

If they make this a real RPG, I'll buy 5 copies to make up the stagger. However, if Nintendo ever made a console PokeRPG, it would kinda make the GB games pointless. I think the reason we're destined to get a shlockey Poke side game again is b/c they don't want to cannibalize GB Pokemon sales. :( I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not holding my breath. PEACE.

I'm pretty sure you're 100% correct. That, and it wouldn't sell as well because people don't take their Gamecubes on subway trains for a quick trade or battle (handle or no)

Didn't Miyamoto say they were partnering with someone big on the game? I take it it's not just Genius Sonority again?

I would laugh if Square/Enix is actually handling the development of the game. I remember them saying that they were going with a big partner, but I thought that was for Pokemon DS.

Who're the "big" RPG makers in Japan besides Square Enix? Maybe one of Namco's subsidiaries (Tales Studio & Monolith Soft)? I can't really think of anyone else too notable? Level-5? tri-Ace? GameArts? Red?

You're pretty much naming all the possibilities that I would nail down as well. Though to be honest, I'm still thinking Genius Sonority are behind this. They could very well just take their existing code and flesh it out for a full RPG. My wishful side hopes it's one of the development houses that you named though.

Edit: Hell, for all we know, Intelligent Systems or EAD could be helping with the development side.

little adapter that lets you put in DS Pokemon and save your pokemon to it, then take the DS and battle wirelessly!

I'm pretty certain it was later revealed that the initial translation was a mistake and they're not partnering with anyone on this one.
