Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

I heard something about the 15th, which would put it after Pokemon Sunday.
The 15th is when it releases, it usually leaks around the 10th or 11th. Pokemon Sunday is on the 11th (or the night of the 10th in the US). So basically there's a 50/50 chance as to where we'll get the info first.

It would be awesome if we could visit Hoenn, GSC style.

But... that would eliminate the need for RSE remakes, which I doubt that's something they want to eliminate.

Re-imagining of Hoenn > Straight up remake. Please, Game Freak. Please.

Why do people keep on bringing up RSE remake?

It's been 7 years. People were starting to talk about the GSC remake about 7 years after that hit.

I can't believe it's been 7 years since RSE. I played that one on the Game Boy Player. Man, the Game Boy Player was awesome.

If we're really gonna go all out, different sprites for weather situations!

So you're suggesting we kill Charmander?

Never got to use the GBP, but my experience with Pokemon Blue was over a Super Game Boy as I didn't own a GB. So awesome.

latest request: get me a fucking surfboard and forget the HM`s please.

I think they can keep some HM's, but they better not take up Pokemon moves. Instead, just have them be a new set of environmental abilities that Pokemon can use that can be deleted and don't have a 4-number-limit.

I think the remakes were made because RBY and GSC didn't follow the updated template. RSE started the template that the rest of the games followed.

Look I'm not saying that either of you made that up...I'm just saying it is a bullshit explanation regardless of its "canonicity". They are obviously two completely different pokemon.
Which happens to dozens of evolving Pokemons. Canonically, this thing on his tail has been Shellder since the very first game.... and Slowking's crown is Shellder too according to pokedex. I doubt they would change anything that has constantly been said for past 14 years.

This is a really bad example because Surf is actually best water move (outside of double battles):D

I want the sprite system GONE! I want either 3D models or detailed pictures of the pokemon that still animate. Im sick of the sprite system. I also want multiple regions SS HG/S G FTW Kanto and Johto!

Nah. I'd expert Lapras will be able to swim on its own, I'd expect Scyther to be able to cut on his own, etc etc. They don't have to be in game moves.

In addition to these Pokemon knowing their HMs without knowing the actual moves (accessible through the menu or something), other Pokemon who know the moves will also be able to use them, like Snorlax using Surf for example, you will just have to teach them. And of course you could use the moves in battle only when the Pokemon know them. Lapras won't be able to use Surf in battle unless it knows Surf, even though you can use it to surf outside without the move.

But that will never happen. After 4 generations of not using this easy, simple, immediately-comes-to-mind solution, they won't ever use it. Whatever the fuck their reasons are.

The only way this makes sense is if you are assuming that the shellder attached to slowpoke also evolves along with slowpoke. In which case it wouldn't be called shellder anymore...so...

Yet again I don't give a flying fuck what the pokedex says (the pokedex says all kinds of stupid shit including stuff about swimming in the pacific ocean or something). It is stupid and inconsistent to not at least name said evolution of shellder and the leveling up mechanic of slowpoke's evolution doesn't explain how the hell a shellder just showed up out of nowhere.

I only want three things in Gen 5. Customizable main character, post "main story" areas(like Kanto in GS), and 3D models. Hell, the overworld could be exactly the same, but I want new looking Poké battles.

In Pokemon Snap, Slowpoke has his tail in the water, and at some point a Shellder bites and he evolves immediately.

They should just give most Pokemon a "Ride Type" and depending on what that is, you can ride your Pokemon in certain situations. Like Arcanine can replace a bike. And obviously your Blastoise can ferry you and Pidgeot can carry you.

The only problem I suppose would be things like Flying Pidgeys. Would look weird.

And as for Cut and such, just make them Key Items. Or bump it up to 80 power. Cuz 50 hasn't been strong since RBY

The shellder actually evolves too which isn't my point; the point is that it wouldn't still be called a shellder anymore. Back in gen1/2 it was fine but now that they have a ton of new evolution methods it would just make sense to require a shellder in your party for slowpoke to evolve.

I'm done with this argument...I'm starting to feel all gamefaqs-y

*washes self*

I'd be perfectly happy to do away with HMs altogether and replace them with key items, or at least don't count them as part of a pokemon's active moveset. I'm sick of having to make way in my adventuring roster for an HM slave or two, and it's equally annoying to have to dilute the moveset of one of my actives just to get through an area. People worried about losing the likes of surf or fly for battling purposes...they can very easily keep those moves and just give them a different name, you know. I'd rather deal with that than have to stick any more pokemon up with "defog."

I'm even fine with them keeping the tile-based movement and such, but give the world some style, and for goodness' sake spruce up the battle animations and pokemon cries. I know they'd have a hard time pulling this off and still keeping it turn-based, but when you have the likes of the television show around, and battles in that always look so dynamic, watching a single sprite wiggle on screen with various little effects moving between the two fighters is a letdown. Find a way to make battles look more energetic, even if they're functionally the same.

We talking evolution still? I still say we need a fucking explanation for this little shit:

And if they tie it all into the Cubone family, all the better.

which reminds me that Kangaskan still needs a fucking baby form. why the hell don't they still have one?

:lol I know, I know. I'm just utterly confused as to why the hell it isn't its own seperate Pokemon yet, like the other 'babies'.
The first generation has lots of loose ends.

I haven't been up with the Pokemon scene since the yellow version for the original Gameboy.

I still believe there are only 151 Pokemon.

Is there a place where I can read about the history of changes in these games? I just find it a bit ridiculous how the Pokemon series have lasted this long.

Also, the following Pokemon need to get evolutions at some point: Farfetch'd, Pinsir, Mr. Mime, Jynx, Corsola, Stantler, Torkoal, Zangoose, Seviper, Tropius, Absol, Carnivine.

Watch them get babies instead.

I just wish they release a console game that has all of the previous areas together with all of the main trainers and whatnot.. I love dreaming :lol

just play HearGold. it is the most complete game yet and it should bring you up to speed with all the latest features.

i dunno maybe pokemon could have like 5 evolutions instead of the 3 that most of them have. imagine if charizard evolved again at lvl 100 then again at lvl 350

Wikipedia...

And I am still kind of curious as to why so many people never played Gold/Silver, despite it coming out only a year after Yellow.

I would rather have well drawn and clear sprites than ugly DS 3D graphics.
