Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

Why was the other thread locked?

Because things got weird when people kept on posting furry stuff.

So, am I the only one who's seen the new images?

There's like, no discussion - anywhere. :lol

It was discussed so much that people tired of it, did what I mentioned earlier, and the thread was locked.

Ah.

Well, I couldn't find any of that stuff in that clusterfuck of a thread. :lol

Well at least this thread is still alive. As for the pictures...well, there's not a whole lot to talk about yet, since none of those give us any idea if the game actually plays any differently now. We'll have to wait for the 15th for more information.

I was thinking about the Pokewalker after the other thread was locked. Three points:

1. Black and White need to be compatible with the Pokewalker
2. The Pokewalker 2 should be bundled with it
3. The Pokewalker 2 should have the full battle system and wireless battles
1. Sure, why not.
2. Sure, why not.
3. Oh hell no. It's kind of a neat idea, my concern would be the cost incurred to make a tiny wireless device capable of holding all the pokemon data, attack parameters and pokemath needed to support the full battle system. Not only does that somewhat negate your first suggestion, but it feels a little redundant to give everyone a handheld battling system when that's already what the DS is.

...Isn't this basically how Digimon got its start, anyway?

It holds a good amount of information already. The teams of the people you connect with are saved into it and transferred to your DS when you put your Pokemon back in. You can then battle the AI in your DS. The only things it would need to add is the Pokemath you talk about. All the other information is in there already.

Personally, Id like to see the Pokewalker 2 get more pedometer features. Distance tracking, stopwatch, etc.

I think the Pokemon item finding and battling system it uses currently is fine for what it is other than our pokemon not learning moves while in it or not levelling up until returning from a stroll for that matter. I think they can help alleviate some of the higher level grinding by letting us level up with the Pokewalker several times a day without having to connect to our DS's.

But then all people will need to do is put a pokemon of choice in there, use their pokewalker cheat method of choice and level with no work or effort.
No.
Far too easy to cheat and abuse that kind of system.
If you want that, leave a Pokemon in the daycare.

Isn't it kind of the same thing?
One one hand, you learn skills in th Day Care. On the other, you don't need your DS on to be earn levels.

You could make the argument that anything the Pokewalker is doing could be provided by the DS games, just obviously not based on steps. I think it could change battles significantly if you only had one Pokemon on your team. Plus it'd be optional.

Run into your friend? Sometimes you don't have your DS charged, or have it on you, and the Pokewalker 2 would provide tons of fun by itself. None of this mystery gift bs.

Sort of, but then it would be both

I want a NEW National Pokédex. Since I just got it in HGSS, it's hard to see what evolves into what, or from.
That would probably be a good idea with the way they keep adding pr/evolutions to existing pokemon, although something still tells me that they won't do it. I guess that's just my pessimism talking.

For all this talk about a Pokewalker 2, they haven't actually confirmed that they would make a new one, have they?

Guys only remakes get gadgets cause they need ta lure people in with a gimmick to rebuy an old game.

Fr/Lg: Wireless Adapter
Hg/Ss: Pokéwalker
R/S remakes: ???

B/W won't have any additional thing like that for sures.

Considering that the DS has Wi-Fi capabilities, there was no need for a wireless adapter.

I sure hope gamefreak re-draws all of the sprites at a higher resolution. In HG/GS the pictures taken with you and your pokemon were fugly because it was just the low res sprites zoomed in. I hope they up the resolution on the sprites in this game.

That's why it was a gimmick? You could make the same future argument (although it would not be true) that the 3DS has a pedometer so you don't need the pokewalker. How are we supposed to tell the future. For its time FR/LG wireless was sweet.

Wasn't that back when the DS wasn't around though? Or right as the DS came out, I'm not to sure. I think it was just made for the SP users.

We've already seen the sprites... unless they change them this fall.

But as it stands now, the rez looks the same.

I'm wondering how trading with DPPtHGSS will work. It's also neat how Gen III Pokemon will make it over into yet another generation, which is unprecedented.

The point was that there was no reason to include a wireless adapter because it was already in the DS. Who knows if they would have included it if the DS didn't have Wi-Fi or even wireless capabilities. That doesn't say anything about the Pokewalker.

Maybe he's moving faster than the speed of light? :)

Seriously though, those screen have got me so excited for the launch of 3DS now, knowing that I am going to pop that cart in there and find everything suddenly, magically flying away into the distance on my previously 2D game.

That city shot, especially (but even the bg in the battle scene is a dead give-away).

I've been away from the internet by and large the last couple days, did we learn anything new during Pokemon Sunday? Or is everything coming on the 15th still?

Soooo fugly. Higher-res pics from Creepy Cameron the Photographer and some way to move them to my real PC would have been terrific.

But it's all still so blocky and HIDEOS DS 3D. It's a big case of OH GOD N64/PS1 ERA 3D DO NOT WANT.

If the 3DS somehow renders the game at a higher res (and if those promo shots are just running on DS hardware to fool the unwary), it'll fix that problem though.

The "info" will probably just be direct feed versions of the Coro Coro shots, but we should be getting them tonight (American time).
