Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

I think all the female designs except for Kris/Lyra are pretty good. Dawn's probably my favorite out of familiarity, but Leaf is pretty great too.

New girl doesn't look bad, just goofy. Maybe it's the angle.

But I'll be playing as the guy anyways so no worries, he looks really cool and an improvement over gens 3/4.

Don't look so bad here. All of them look OK. But they're still the worst starters ever.

I like the fire pig the most but know I'll pick the sea otter because I always choose water. :/

Damn, May always was the hottest. Which always made me wonder: WHY do almost all girls in the Pokemon-series have such sexualized bodies? I mean, how old is May, 12? But she has very pronounced boobs, hips and all that. Really weird. Especially since Misty was a normal child of her age, no features at all.

Wait, what? compared to say, Bayonetta, The female are pretty desexualised. It's just that the Pokémon world is so sterile that even the tiniest things stand out.

EDIT: I just realised I'm coming full circle of the Pokémon starters.

Gen 1 - Squirtle (water). A turtle with built in water cannons.
Gen 2 - Chikorita (grass). Edged out Totodile, Cyndaquil didn't stand a chance.
Gen 3 - Torchic (fire). Would be my favourite Pokémon family if it wasn't for the Pompous Penguin.
Gen 4 - Piplup baby! (water). Torterra rocks, but his prevolutions are pretty dissapointing. As a Blaziken fan I'm pretty much obligated to hate Infernape too.
Gen 5 - grass starter (grass, duh.). The best of a bad bunch.

i always thought misty was the hottest (no pedo, i watched the show when i was 10 or 11 :lol )

Err, they're not sexualised at all. I don't see the pronounced boobs and hips you're talking about.

Yeah, I imagine it happening like the camera moves in FFTactics, the sprites just "pop" to the new perspective when the cameras swung far enough. We'll see I guess.
 
I like the new starters, better than last generations. Though I was a huge Treecko fan so that's probably why I like this one so much.

Why do people keep saying this? Have any of you played games from the N64/PS1 gen? There were TONS that had sprites being rotated and animated and they still looked good. You forget things like dithering aren't as noticeable when sprites are moving and on a screen that has many times the resolution of the DS

I'm saying it because it's on the DS. Any sprite manipulation looks bad, at least from the animations we've seen so far.

Loving all three of them. Hilarious how the Grass starter even has that smug look of the fanart from a few pages back. Fire starter's evo has potential to be fuck-awesome.
 
Yay, now that some info is finally out (sort of) the bullshit will stop flowing in!

But yeah, Isshu is very far away from Kanto / Johto...
